We get paid regularly on a monthly basis now rather than having to wait for checks from our clients. It also integrates with our accounting system. **What do you dislike about Melio?** The only challenges we've had with Melio are when there is a problem setting up an account. We've attempted to have them use Melio customer support, but we often have to help them out ourselves to get it to work correctly. **What problems is Melio solving and how is that benefiting you?** We used to get physical checks from our clients. Getting direct payments from their bank saves us and our clients time while also reducing errors and makes accounting easier. ### 2. Our clients like the invoice view during the approval process as well because it makes it very quick and easy to review and approve payments. We've also found the varying speeds of payment with different fee structures to be a big selling point for some clients. A lot of bill pay options only offer one or two speeds of payment (ACH or paper check for example) while Melio offers instant, same day, regular ACH and paper check. **What do you dislike about Melio?** The biggest frustration we've had with Melio is the lack of clarity around how Melio sets limits on the client's account. When speaking with customer support it sounds like an algorithm just makes the determination and we weren't able to get much information on how or when the client would be approved for features like same-day payments. **What problems is Melio solving and how is that benefiting you?** Melio helps us coordinate large volumes of AP requests in an organized manner that allows us to involve the client as needed with customized approval workflows. ### 3. It pays people electronically even if they are quite low tech. It is more reliable than bank "bill pay" because it invites recipients of funds to provide their banking information so that they can receive the payments directly in their bank account. Lower cost than paying by credit card, more secure than paper checks. **What do you dislike about Melio?** Melio should do 1099-NEC and other year-end financial reporting. But it doesn't - remember it is mostly a single use tool and doesn't do more than that one thing. I will say that we have experience with a lot of other systems that offer the same type of system some have different features. but we always come back to Melio as our preferred system. The ease of use is the best part, along with their support you can not beat how responsive and helpful they are. We give our clients the option for ACH for free, or to pay the % fee if they want to use a credit/debit card. It also syncs well with Quickbooks Online. **What do you dislike about Melio?** There isn't a way for the company to set up recurring charges or recurring ACH invoices. And if a payment fails, the customer has to contact support. The company cannot do anything but send them a duplicate invoice if the customer doesn't want to email support and wait for their reply. **What problems is Melio solving and how is that benefiting you?** No transaction fees! The workflow for approval is pretty seemless. I also like giving vendors the option of getting a direct deposit or a mailed check. customer service has been very responsive on the many chats I've had to make. **What do you dislike about Melio?** When my vendors make a mistake, it takes a little while to rectify (e.g. the vendor gives Melio the wrong bank account number and the payment fails and they've already taken the funds out of my bank!). Also the report export is hard to find (even though I do it every month; I just can't seem to remember where it is. I think there should be a way to get there right from the main menu or top bar. I do not think vendors appreciate the multiple checks from the same company. The lag time of the checks seems to have gotten worse.
