I really value how quickly we can turn complex thoughts into clear, visually engaging mind maps. The interface is intuitive and responsive, making it easy to stay focused. I often export maps as high-quality images to include in reports and executive presentations. I had a really disappointing experience with Mind Meister and hope this review saves others from wasting their time and money. Here are the undisputed facts of my interaction with Mind Meister –

- My company has been a customer of Mind Meister since March 2021 and a spent $2,227 during that period

- On April 19, 2024 at 5:00pm I received an email saying they charged $419 for a subscription renewal for 4 users and 6 month term

- At 5:01pm I received another email offering savings if I subscribed for a year instead of 6 months

- At 6:08pm I shared that our team hasn’t used Mind Meister at all other than me and I requested a refund for the 3 other licenses and said I was happy to renew my single license for a year

- Their response “I'm sorry to say that I cannot issue a refund in this case. As outlined at the time of purchase, selecting a billing period when purchasing a license causes your plan to renew automatically by default”

- I said that I have been a loyal customer and thought they issued notifications BEFORE a subscription renews like most companies since it is the law in most states

- Their response “I am sorry that you feel this way, but we notify our users about the automatic license renewal not only at the time of purchase but also in our terms & conditions and email invoices.”

You can decide if you want to work with a company that retains their loyal, multi-year customers by referencing ‘fine print’ in terms & conditions that no one can keep up with when they have over 30 different vendors and software providers. I like the way it auto-aligns all elements and can be customized for the way I like. Most importantly the default look and feel is also very good. The drag and drop interface is very good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We can export mindmaps only in their "mind" format, Other export formats don't work great when imported into other mind-mapping tools. Yes, as a free version you can create only 3 mindmaps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Also helps me deliver presentations to clients; brainstorm projects and concepts in a super easy way.

I like how it's easy to add/move topics inside a map and different themes. As a team, we mostly do brainstorming sessions here and come up with decisions for the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This may not be a huge problem but sometimes when I open one of our existing maps, all the topics get opened and it looks messy in the map. Then I close them myself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The free version is restricts to only 3 mindmaps, mindmaps of bigger sizes becomes laggy and tend to crash, site is not optimised for mobile view Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I'm surprised there are very few reviews for Mindmeister. I have used the tool for brainstorming with my team(It's also super fun), creating lessons for kids, class syllabus/learning journey, and even a story board! In terms of features, I have no complaints. They are also testing the new Panda update. Everything looks fantastic so far.

I have an education subscription with Mindmeister and Meistertask. Now they have also introduced Notes. It would be nice if they create a Google suite like pricing, where there's single pricing for people who want to use all their tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
