Useful record-keeping and training tool **Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Kelly W. | Marketing specialist, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2022 **What do you like best about MeetGeek?** I love that it will automatically join Google Meet and Zoom calls (even if I'm not the organiser). I love that clicking on a section of the transcription jumps to that section of the video. I also love that captions are automatically included on the video. I really like the idea of automatic summaries with to-dos etc. but it doesn't work all that well yet. It always picks up things that aren't action items from the call... **What do you dislike about MeetGeek?** I've been using Meetgeek.ai for a couple of years now and there are some things that really annoy me. In fact, they annoy me so much that I seriously considered switching solutions. The only reason I didn't is that I have a lifetime deal for Meetgeek.ai and if I switched to an alternative solution, I'd have to pay a monthly fee. The things that really annoy me: 1. It's slow to add a new meeting. So if I want to create a video showing instructions for someone in my team, I can't just start a new meeting and have meetgeek.ai join straight away. I have to add a meeting to my calendar for at least 5 mins the in the future. 2. It's not that reliable. Several times I've had a crucial meeting not be recorded because the meetbot just didn't show up. Other tools have a 99% uptime guarantee. Meetgeek.ai doesn't. Though they have improved in this area. 3. The ai-generated summaries are woeful. I've had clients email me after receiving one laughing at how bad they are. I’d rather not have them than have such bad ones. UPDATE: It’s been a while since MeetGeet hasn’t joined a meeting automatically, however, I still don’t fully trust it and use Google’s meeting recording features when I’m interviewing sources as a backup. The AI summaries are also better than they were. But it would be nice if they didn’t summarise the small talk at the beginning of meetings. **What problems is MeetGeek solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm not great at taking notes during calls and interviews — I always miss something. Meetgeek allows me to rewatch discussions as many times as I need to, so I don't miss anything. It also enables me to share videos of me doing digital tasks for training purposes and also just to explain instructions better (and asynchornously). ### 2. Recorded meetings are automatically summarized and sent to meeting notes in HubSpot. This is great for collaboration with team members working on same cases. It is also appreciated that within a team, separate plans can be chosen, depending on the needs of the specific users. **What do you dislike about MeetGeek?** Tailoring the summary prompts was never as good as copy pasting the transcript into ChatGPT. We no longer use MeetGeek since HubSpot and MS Teams Premium have a better integration now. **What problems is MeetGeek solving and how is that benefiting you?** An easy-to-use dashboard provides access to meeting recordings and accurate transcripts, while also forwarding AI-generated summaries to HubSpot CRM. ### 3. It has reduced my effort to type each meeting minutes since the meeting minutes are automatically generated post meeting. **What do you dislike about MeetGeek?** The accuracy of the conversion from meeting audio to meet notes is not precise. Furthermore, our clients are majorly within the country (India) and they mostly mix up their local language alongside english, due to which often the intrepretation of meetgeek is not accurate. **What problems is MeetGeek solving and how is that benefiting you?** It mainly helps me with getting meeting notes which I dont have to type in. In some scenarios, the meeting notes helps me ensure no major discussion items/points are lost since it captures the conversation and shares it indivudually in bullet points and summaries. ### 6. Also seems to have a solid product roadmap with more to come. **What do you dislike about MeetGeek?** As a international remote-first company it struggled to accurately transcribe a lot of our team's discussions. Especially those with a strong accent. Also meeting summaries frequently failed to accurately match what the basic points made during the meeting were. It would lead to us needing to edit a lot. **What problems is MeetGeek solving and how is that benefiting you?** We used it as a meeting minutes note taker, to then share out important or high-level mgmt meetings with our wider team. I have a lot of tabs open, but that never stopped any other video of browser based software from functioning properly. When playing a saved meeting video, I experience a lot of mouse lag and the chrome browser says it's not responding. That flickered on and off, but the video played smoothly. **What problems is MeetGeek solving and how is that benefiting you?** Meetgeek.ai is helping us knowledge workers retrieve valuable information from virtual meetings--automating some of that process. I needed to go back and find a certain conversation had in a previous meeting. Meetgeek.ai helped me find it, saving me from making an unnecessary email to my boss. ### 13.
