They won't allow you to take an exam you paid for if your state ID just expired. They don't make that crystal clear before taking the exam, though. They just keep repeating that they need a valid ID. If you just need to confirm that a student's ID is correct and they are who they say they are, then why does ProctorU care if the card itself is expired or not? To annoy people and make the test taking process unnecessarily harder on the user on themselves. I asked for a refund. As long as all of the other personal identification information on the ID is correct, they should let you take the exam that you paid for! But No, they will literally hang up on you and refuse you. They were asking me to go to DDS to get the card renewed in order to take the test within a 2 hour time frame knowing that DDS was closed at the time of the test. Fully online students like myself aren't given standard student IDs, and not everyone has a Passport to use for verification either. I wish I read these reveiws before choosing ProctorEW, they made what was supposed to be a simple proctored midterm process so much harder than it should have been! I've scheduled two weeks in advance for my exam and the day of they cancel my exam... this is one of the worst services and cannot believe they're actually in business. Stay away what ever you do. I just had a horrible experience with them, got super stressed before the exam started and lost time from work. The technical support person who was supposedly helping we with my camera, just closed the session through remote control making it look as if I closed it.

I tried contacting their support and when they reconnected me with a proctor, the proctor closed the session immediately without explanation.

I will not use the language that I feel like using to describe the service I have received today as it is certainly not polite! To summarise:

- Livechatted before the exam started to check that the form of I have is acceptable, which they confirmed it was

- Started the exam to be told the ID was not acceptable

- Advised I was going home to get alternative ID and would be back within the alloted timeslot given

- Got back with the ID within the timeslot and was told that the exam had been cancelled. Not advice given on how to rebook

Utterly dreadful service, this company cannot be relied on at all. I note that 90% of the reviews on here are 1 star and I can certainly see why. I dislike the fact that this company is allowed to prey on students and poses a security risk to anyone computer that they connect to. They require their extension and a .exe file that connects you to the proctor "service". Twice, I found that .exe file running in the background and three different directories on my computer that the application was coming out of. It installed one on each of my drives of my pc, and I had to hunt them down. The instructors of the course should be responsible for proctoring any tests or Exams not a 3rd party service. I purchased the ServSafe Manager course and exam for six employees at my nursing facility. I was given an exam access code, which ServSafe told me should be used.One of the employees was ready and scheduled to take the exam through ProctorU, however the scheduled proctor informed her that she could not take it. ProctorU refused to accept this exam access code and referred her back to ServSafe. ServSafe assured me that this is the code to use and informed me that they could not help me otherwise. When I asked to speak with a supervisor or manager from ProctorU, I was hung up on. This is the worst customer service that I have ever had and I will never use this company again. proctors are discriminatory based on appearances. The last test I took I was well-dressed business casual, no questions on my testing area, not 1 interruption.

This time in my PJs, sitting in the exact same spot. I was prevented from starting my test for over an hour, I had to contact a manager to get them to let me start, because the room wasn't suitable all of the sudden. Then I was interrupted 5 times, for adjusting in my chair. All 4 of these people treated me like a delinquent. I am a 25 year old healthcare professional. I spent three hours with a live chat assistant trying to help me fix technical issues on the proctoru side and they could not help me fix it. I lost $180 on a test I was not able to test and then when an investigation was launched they lied about the problem which could have easily been seen in my three-hour-long chat with the live assistant so I was not able to get a refund and to try and take the test I had to pay another $180.
