MDaemon Email Server’s advantage that I like most is its stability and the strong protection measures. The server is extremely reliable, and is rarely down, which puts our emails at our fingertips. The main functions of the spam filter combined with the virus protection have substantially cut the amount of spam mails, which is a plus in my view. Further, the ability to integrate it with our CRM and Calendar application makes the communication and scheduling of clients and many team meetings much easier. What I found unsuitable about MDaemon Email Server is the user interface which is not as natural and smooth as in modern email servers. This makes it difficult for new users to master the software as they take longer time to gain ground in their use of this software. Moreover, the mobile app is not as feature rich as the regular desktop version, which can be problematic for the team members who require consistent email access even when they are not in front of their computers. MDaemon Email Server has resolved several issues for us most importantly the issue of dependability of the servers on email and the security of our emails. This way we make sure that always have our emails With maximum availability, something that is very important to our functioning. There is very few spam and viruses entering the company’s networks as a result of the built in filters enhancing our security. These benefits have given a positive result in improve the communication internally within our team and with external clients which enhance the increase in productivity as well as our business processes. Outlook, I have had the pleasure of using great email systems, Novell Groupwise, MDaemon is two of the best business email message solutions. I find the business world and what I call the old dogs, want to use outlook, in my optinion, Microsoft makes sure that their products work best with themselves. I see Google Mail are faced with the same problem as Novell Groupwise and MDaemon with the business clients, the outlook client. I have in the past used other services, MS being one of them. Mail software is some of the most annoying and tricky software that any IT guy needs to familiarise themselves with. It has taken me a few minutes to ponder and find what I liked about MDaemon over and above other platforms that I have used..., so I then decided to review as if it were the only mail available. It sends emails. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about MDaemon Email Server? The fragility of it. The unnecessary complexity around its antique GUI. The support exists if you want to pay the premium for it, but isn't that why I was paying my licence? Oh but there is plenty of self-help available but finding it through the mountains of material all written in IT speak... I guess Mdaemon was not a good choice for our company and if I could remove the decision-makers that figured it was a cheaper alternative because the advertising said so when comparing it to cloud-based hosted systems I would do so. Maybe I am being too hard on this software, maybe we should have taken a hosted option instead of spending the nearly 60 manhours (so far) just to get some functions to work, yes one of those is email. During an upgrade, we lost some 2 hours worth of emails because of the online instructions missed a couple of steps that their support guys later pointed out. If we had paid for the extra support we may or may not have come across this issue, but then the extra support costs would mean we could have paid for the hosted systems that are available and that would be the same price. Is it just me.... wish I could go back to that point in time when we were making a decision to keep going with MDaemon or switch to hosted... hindsight always 20/20 Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
