## Maximizer Reviews
  ### 1. Going Downhill

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Maximizer?**

Maximizer, being a CRM, is useful for keeping client info all in one place and allowing for a communal calendar for a business or organization.

**What do you dislike about Maximizer?**

A recent update has set Maximizer back considerably, at least with regard to the features my office used most regularly before said update. Maximizer calendar used to sync with everyone's Outlook calendars, and the sync worked both directions; if an appointment was added in one, it would show up in the other. Now the sync only works one direction. Maximizer can pull from Outlook, but Outlook will not show anything that was originally put in Maximizer calendar. This is a horrendous problem considering how often some people in our organization need to book appointments for others. Previously we just put in in Maximizer and it would sync to the appropriate Outlook calendar(s). Now, we are just trying to make do/find passable work-arounds until this problem is fixed. We also have had appointments disappear or extend to a second day (when it was an all-day appointment) without user input. So, lately, Maximizer has just been a headache and a cluster of problems.

**What problems is Maximizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's creating way more problems than it's solving for me and my team since the Outlook integration update broke several of the features we use most often (e.g., scheduling appointments on behalf of others in Maximizer calendar and having those appointments show up on relevant Outlook calendars - the two calendars no longer sync appropriately to allow this chain of events).
I guess that it's nice that everyone in the organization can save relevant client communication under the client profile so everyone has all the info if they need to hop in on things, but even this feature has gotten buggy with the Outlook integration update.

  ### 2. Basic CRM, Technological Pain

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Maximizer?**

I like how Maximizer keeps all of our contact information in one place. I also find the household/contact/company structure to be helpful.

**What do you dislike about Maximizer?**

Too many extremely disruptive technological issues that cannot be solved. For example, duplicate calendar issues, outlook integration randomly disconnecting... In addition to this, the CRM is not very modern. It does not integrate well with other applications, it takes many steps to complete a simple task, and many of our users find it to not be user friendly. Finally, the financial advisor version was not designed in a way that creates a big value add to financial advisors.

**What problems is Maximizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows us to keep all of our client's contact information & our ongoing client case list in one place.

  ### 3. Review of Maximizer CRM

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2018

**What do you like best about Maximizer?**

Nothing. The old version was so much better and much more user-friendly.

**What do you dislike about Maximizer?**

It is SOOO slow. Everything takes forever and my productivity has gone way down since switching the cloud-based version. The old version has more, better features that are no longer there in this version.

**Recommendations to others considering Maximizer:**

Don't use it unless you like software that takes FOREVER and is NOT user-friendly

**What problems is Maximizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We don't conduct business. We use Maximizer to keep track of our clients (this is a law firm).

  ### 4. Maximizer future going forward looks poor

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2017

**What do you like best about Maximizer?**

My journey with Maximizer started in the early 2000s; I've come to appreciate its consistent stability and usability over the years. It's interesting to see how this CRM has managed to adapt amidst the ever-changing landscape of technology.

**What do you dislike about Maximizer?**

In recent years, Maximizer has undergone numerous changes, and unfortunately, not all have been for the better. Each update seems to obscure features that many of us rely on. Additionally, while Maximizer is supposed to integrate with Teams seamlessly, it often causes delays and freezes in my email account. Moreover, I've noticed that my Windows calendar appointments are duplicated or even triplicated in my Maximizer calendar, or worse, my appointments disappear from my Maximizer calendar. It's important to be aware of these issues as they can significantly impact productivity and workflow.

**What problems is Maximizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I utilize Maximizer to document client meeting notes, prioritize client follow-up activities, and securely store client documents.

**Official Response from Rykiel Bterrani:**

  ### 5. Good database, however needs to be updated

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dave H. | Certified Financial Planner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Maximizer?**

I like the ease of accessibility (on my smartphone) and the multiple features.

**What do you dislike about Maximizer?**

I REALLY don't like the delay when switching from screen to screen. I understand this is the tradeoff with having everything in the cloud, however the lag is extremely frustrating when trying to access information quickly.

Also, I found the platform to have an outdated look and feel to it.

**Recommendations to others considering Maximizer:**

I wish the system was faster and didn't have the lag time (even with my new computer and the fastest internet speed i can get).

**What problems is Maximizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our clients are organized, however due to the lag when going from screen to screen, it feels more tedious to enter the information....as well as accessing the information. I wish the system was faster.

I also found it very difficult to perform searches with various clients compared to our new CRM.

**Official Response from Rykiel Bterrani:**

> Hello Dave,

Thank you for sharing your feedback - we take it very seriously. We are sorry that your experience was not an amazing one. I’ve shared this with the team so we can focus on this issue moving forward. Please do reach out support@maximizer.com if we can assist further.

  ### 6. Didn’t fit the needs of my business; then was refused refund

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Javier O. | Director Of Business Development, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Maximizer?**

Their sales team was very good at selling a mediocre product.

**What do you dislike about Maximizer?**

They have no customer service department. They have a training guide, but limited staff. It was not a good experience.

Nothing was as advertised, from the user experience to the security of purchase. The address book was not able to be converted from the Leads module and the maps feature wasn’t able to connect from Leads. The mobile version has a lot of bugs and isn’t very functional. They have a tutorial, yet aren’t proactive in distributing it to new users. Their focus is on sales. And it’s not a very salable product in my opinion. The worst aspect of this company is that they aren’t risk free. If you purchase a year software and decide after a few weeks it simply isn’t for your company, there are no refunds. I had to initiate a chargeback with my bank after being told that “unfortunately, due to the terms and conditions...” No customer wants to hear that.
They tried to bully me into keeping their software. There are far too many options in 2021 for CRM to be forced into one, especially one so difficult to use. When I asked about a feature that I needed, I was told, “Perhaps later this year...” Not what I need if I’m paying good money for a software. Their sales VP wouldn’t call me when I requested a call after being denied a refund.
When I went through their main website again after my experience with Maximizer, I noticed that everything they advertise is not in line with the product they put out. They say that there’s a free trial available. Not the truth. Any company who can’t be trusted to keep their word on something so simple isn’t reputable.

**Recommendations to others considering Maximizer:**

Look at all the available options before purchasing. Ask if your free trial is risk free. In my case, it was not. I had to file a chargeback with my bank.

**What problems is Maximizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm solving none. They're trying to stick me with a software I won't use.

  ### 7. Old school CRM; too much money for not enough capability

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Graham C. | Business Development, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Maximizer?**

The support team is made up of actual friendly and responsive humans.

**What do you dislike about Maximizer?**

Almost all of it.
Functionality is extremely limited, user interface is clunky, configuration is difficult.
Mobile app is useless, it's read only.
Integration with outlook is very poor - doesn't usually start on first launch.
Zapier plug-in doesn't work for the on-premise version.

**Recommendations to others considering Maximizer:**

Look for a modern CRM like Hubspot, Salesforce, Lusha or Dynamics

**What problems is Maximizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quote tracking - we have good tracking of all our quotes and estimates.
Customer relationship management - we have a tool to manage and track customer communication.

  ### 8. Not Easy to use

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jaime B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2018

**What do you like best about Maximizer?**

it uploads pdfs and Documents to the contacts profile quickly and data entry is a breeze

**What do you dislike about Maximizer?**

when Exporting history reports from the contacts notes is very difficult especially when it does not pick up all of the notes. its not the best configuration to work with. wish the contacts profile was a lot easier to see then to have all these tabs that are useless....

**Recommendations to others considering Maximizer:**

Make Sure to do your research and also maybe find out if there is a way to utulize all aspects of maximizer. if there is training seminars provided for free then take them. but either then that the price point is not at all what should be worth to run...

**What problems is Maximizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a Temp Agency. the only benefit is the address book.

  ### 9. Changes Difficult to Work

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2018

**What do you like best about Maximizer?**

Initially there was a lot of training involved. The down side was that there was a lot of time dedicated to learning how to use the new system.

**What do you dislike about Maximizer?**

I decided after some time that I did not want to renew as my older version of maximize worked better for me. After being a loyal customer of Maximizer for over 20 years they were not helpful. I called and did not get a response back. asked to speak to a supervisor no return call. I sent a few e-mails asking for help. I could only get help to back up my information if I gave them more money. So I was EXTEMELY disappointed in their lack of interest to keep me as a return customer.

**Recommendations to others considering Maximizer:**

I found it to be too laborious and even the technical support staff had a hard time answering some of my questions

**What problems is Maximizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I run a small business and found the older versions much easier to manage my business.

**Official Response from Ian M:**

> Thanks for taking the time to give us a review. We're really sorry to hear you're not satisfied with Maximizer CRM.

Please feel free to give our Customer Support Team a call on 1-866-275-1254 where we'll be happy to help you out.

  ### 10. Not suited for our purposes

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bill R. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2018

**What do you like best about Maximizer?**

Customer support was great. There was a lot of handholding throughout the entire setup process and customer support was very responsive.

**What do you dislike about Maximizer?**

System did not meet our needs. We were looking for something similar to a tech support setup, with tickets being able to pass easily from hand to hand. Found it near impossible for multiple users to make use of it in this configuration.

**What problems is Maximizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We did not solve the problem. We ended up migrating to another CRM product

  ### 11. Frustrating Program, Poor Support

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2018

**What do you like best about Maximizer?**

Easy customization. It is hard to find anything else nice to say about this product.

**What do you dislike about Maximizer?**

Terrible support, don't seem to understand their product.
Poor design in some places like the dashboard

**What problems is Maximizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking Customer communications. Honestly, the benefits have been minimal. Looking for another solution

**Official Response from Niall Auburn:**

> Thanks for taking the time to write a review. We're sorry to hear you're not happy with the support you have received, please call 1-866-275-1254 or contact your account manager to discuss this in further detail.

  ### 12. not easy to use

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2018

**What do you like best about Maximizer?**

Honestly not a whole lot it takes to many clicks to do essentially anything,

**What do you dislike about Maximizer?**

Not very user friendly for mass emails or to complete tasks. Wish it had a click to dial as well.

**Recommendations to others considering Maximizer:**

make easier to move from hot list to cmpaign etc make click to dial

**What problems is Maximizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides a Crm other than that not a whole lot.

  ### 13. Not likely to recommend

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michelle H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Maximizer?**

Be able to save emails directly from outlook

**What do you dislike about Maximizer?**

Maximizer wanted to show too much info but the structure of pages are not really user friendly.

**What problems is Maximizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Recording client notes and save emails.

  ### 14. Good riddance, Maximizer, after ten years!

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Prescott P. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2014

**What do you like best about Maximizer?**

We could see our data, sometimes, when the server was working.

**What do you dislike about Maximizer?**

The entire user experience is a nightmare compared to companies like Nutshell CRM, who actually take the time to do user oriented collaborative design, focusing on UI and UX.

**Recommendations to others considering Maximizer:**

Get Nutshell

**What problems is Maximizer solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have created more business problems than we have solved by choosing Maximizer several years ago. Maximizer is among the worst CRMs we have ever used... Horrible upgrade paths, server complications, proprietary database considerations... We have switched to Nutshell CRM and never looked back. Now our data is easily accessible, and the cost per license is much more affordable. Plus there are no more Maximizer hot tasks cluttering up our notes and account history screens, which is tedious when you have many sales staff working on the same account. Maximizer is clunky and unintuitive, sort of like IBM, whereas Nutshell is user friendly, like Apple. Good riddance, Maximizer. We will never look back or need to buy another support contract from you again... Always free and responsive support with Nutshell!
