Review Summary

Generated using AI from real user reviews
Users consistently praise the software for its powerful graphical capabilities and ease of use in handling complex mathematical computations. Many appreciate how it simplifies the process of visualizing data and equations, making it a valuable tool for research and analysis. However, a common limitation noted is the steep learning curve for beginners, which can hinder initial usability.

"Mathematica Review"
What do you like best about Mathematica?

Mathematica helps you to solve all kind of mathematics ranging from, algebra, computation, analytical, numerical among others. Handling computation can be time consuming but with Mathematica its just a matter of minutes and you get accurate results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mathematica?

The support team is not that active and mathematical is not easy for beginners. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Mathematica Review."
What do you like best about Mathematica?

What i like most about Mathematica is that it supports different languages. When you are installing the software you are prompted to choose your preferred language. Amnother thing is that Mathematica can handle different problems from all mathematic areas. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mathematica?

The only thing that i dislike about Mathematica is the customer support team as they are never active. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Why Mathematica is great for music producers"
What do you like best about Mathematica?

What I like best about Mathematica is relatively easy to describe. I am an aspiring producer, and I use the free software audacity. But often this software has its limits. So Mathematica brings its easy to use and explore interfaces to the table. With Mathematica, I can easily model specific sine, cosine, square, and triangle waves and more with intuitive code input. I find this very important for trying to stack chords or visualize how certain harmonies sound. For instance, I can experiment easily with just tempered harmony by inputting custom sine waves into an easy to use "play" format. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mathematica?

I dislike the steep learning curve. This software isn't exactly the best demonstration of a plug and play software, but with enough learning and practice, it is not too difficult to eventually understand what it is that you want to do. For instance, sometimes the syntax is difficult to grapple with at first, but after a little bit of tinkering and practice, it becomes second nature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Mathematica Review"
What do you like best about Mathematica?

With Mathematica you are able to solve any kind of mathematical problems from all branches of mathematics. I love that with Mathematica gives accurate and reliable results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mathematica?

Most mathematical softwares needs you to have a mathematical background and its the same to Mathematica. Its not easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Tool for Visualizing Trends"
What do you like best about Mathematica?

Mathematica is an easy tool to integrate and use in the research workplace. It uses easy programming codes to output visuals for patterns and graphs. Its very functional in terms of biostatistics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mathematica?

There is a lapse of capacity when certain inputs are missing commands but there is no error feature which points this out. It may be useful to suggest commands. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Symbolic Manipulation Powerhouse"
What do you like best about Mathematica?

Mathematica is wonderful for, surprise, mathematical analysis. I've yet to see other software match its symbolic manipulation for analysis and integration. The work flow is fast and intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mathematica?

The syntax feels clunky at first and burdened with brackets. Modules are not as intuitive as other programming languages' implementations of functions. There's a steep learning curve to master the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Totally Unique and Powerful Language"
What do you like best about Mathematica?

It has so much built-in. Stuff that you couldn't imagine!

There was a competition online, once, called "upgoat or downgoat". The challenge was to write a program that could, given an image, determine if it was a right-side-up image of a goat, or one that had been flipped vertical -- to get 80% accuracy, and do it in as short a program possible. Most of the solutions were clever such that, for instance, a typical picture of a goat had lots of gradients that got darker as they went down, so identifying gradients could tell you the orientation.

The Mathematica solution won for shortest program. How did it work? Well, the author found out that Mathematica had a *built-in function for identifying goats*. So it fed the function the original image and the image flipped, and the one that had a higher confidence was returned as the answer.

In addition to the huge library available, it has very thorough documentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mathematica?

There's not much I dislike! There are a few "hidden" functions and options that aren't documented anywhere, and mostly known by handed-down folklore from other power-users. But those are pretty rare to need, really only when you're doing something very specific. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seems more difficult that it is."
What do you like best about Mathematica?

One of the main features of Mathematica is the ability to deal with everything. You can do from a simple graph to the most complex integrate you could imagine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mathematica?

The only bad thing I think Mathematica has is the lenguage and the way you have to input the commands and evaluate them, sometimes it is not easy to know where have you made the mistake programming because of an ambiguos answer by the programm. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Brilliant tool with a wide range of functions! "
What do you like best about Mathematica?

Such a wide range of mathematical functions, there's nothing this tool cannot solve! Also has the ability to carry out complex simulations and can process hundreds of arrays seamlessly, makes analyzing large datasets so much easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mathematica?

I don't think it's the most user-friendly tool. Really takes some time to understand how to use it and it isn't as easy to find tutorials or solutions online. I wish there was more guidance built into the program regarding commands (wish it would correct us when we enter e instead of E for example). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
