A great tool for scriptwriters, song writers, authors and anybody who loves to write **Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** tami t. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2023 **What do you like best about MasterWriter?** MasterWriter is great in provided just about any assistance a writer needs, may it be dictionary to check for definition or thesaurus to check for synonyms. It's a way to aid the writer not to use too many apps and be tempted to slack off from writing **What do you dislike about MasterWriter?** Mainly just its looks , the elements of design are quite old but it may appeal to minimalist crowd. They lack some features that are currently present to other writing software that they can consider to spice up the software **What problems is MasterWriter solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps me focus on the task at hand without the need to reach for my phone or open a browser to search for certain meaning of words or to find synonyms or antonyms. It also suggests rhyming words especially if you are into song writing which might come in handy in the future ### 2. Old version was far superior. Helps writer's block. Has a useful feature for pop-culture reference. Is my main lyric writing tool until something better comes along. **What do you dislike about MasterWriter?** First off, Master Writer 2 was a far superior program. I have pointed this out to the developers more than once (as have many others), but they always reply with this BS cookie-cutter template response claiming how much more money they could have made if they went with a software version, and why they switched to an ONLY cloud solution. Here's an idea: Why not offer a software version that syncs with the cloud? If companies like Microsoft can offer a hybrid solution for their Office 365 products, so can these guys. There is nothing wrong with making stand-alone software that syncs to the cloud and can be used across multiple devices. Many companies do this. I think this is just laziness on the part of the developers, as you must be connected to the internet to use the product. To add insult to injury, they stopped supporting the older versions of Masterwriter so if you upgrade your operating system, they no longer work. This is a product I paid a lot of money for a supposed "lifetime" license only to find out it was not 'my lifetime' but rather the life of the product. And they offered no PERMANENT discount or upgrade path for original owners, as it is now subscription-based only. Not only subscription-based but a much inferior product compared to the old. They put much more effort into designing the older software version compared to this amateur cloud version, which doesn't even look professional. If there is a competitor product out there, I will be switching next time. **What problems is MasterWriter solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps with lyric writing. ### 3. It solves my problems and makes my life simpler. **What problems is MasterWriter solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps me write promotional texts, create documents for my projects, and also write emails. It would be great if it offered ideas on how to create the perfect post for example, it is a subjective characteristic but it can help the writer to mold his writing as well. **What problems is MasterWriter solving and how is that benefiting you?** I used it when I started working on television as a copy editor, I had to write many journalistic texts, essays and promotional texts that needed the help of this platform to achieve it in due time. It was also very useful when publishing my posts on social networks.
