## HeyMarvin Reviews
  ### 1. Comprehensive Solution for UX Research Needs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Salvador A. | UX Researcher, User-Centered Design, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I appreciate Marvin's ability to record user interviews and team meetings in a secure manner, integrating seamlessly with MS Teams, which is essential for compliance with my company's requirements. The automatic generation of accurate transcripts within minutes is a significant time-saver, as it eliminates the hassle and expense often associated with transcription services. The synchronization of transcripts with their respective audio and video recordings, along with the ability to search and share them easily, enhances collaborative efficiency tremendously. The integrated analysis tools, including robust AI shortcuts, allow me to perform detailed analysis on both individual interviews and larger projects. The convenience of using the 'Analyze by Question' feature to obtain specific insights is unparalleled in enhancing the precision of my research. Additionally, the platform's research repository function is indispensable, allowing quick addition and publication of insights for stakeholder review. Having these functionalities combined in one place significantly streamlines my workflow and makes using Marvin a compelling choice.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I find the customization options for graphs and charts for quantitative data lacking, as I need to export them in various formats directly into reports or slide decks. Additionally, the analysis of quantitative survey data is not as robust as I would like, particularly when uploading data from Qualtrics or a spreadsheet. I also found it initially intimidating to understand the setup due to the many options available on the interface, especially the multiple 'ASK AI' search bars which were confusing at first. Every once in a while when uploading a file it will get stuck causing me to have to contact the help desk.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin securely records and transcribes interviews fast, integrates with MS Teams, and offers AI tools for analysis, saving time and enhancing workflow. It also meets compliance needs and offers centralized access and robust functionality for UX research. It speeds up qualitative analysis massively!

  ### 2. Powerful Data Insights, Steep Learning Curve

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elsa R.

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

What I like most about Marvin is that you can get a lot of cool insights from a very simple data analysis. The data analysis takes just a few minutes. If you've set up the discussion guide and have annotated the interviews or the focus groups or whatever you've done or recorded with Marvin, it's just very nice to be able to ask AI things and to come up with answers in just, like, a few minutes. One thing that I really like about the Ask AI tool is that you can use it to actually compare different interviews. So you can go into an interview and ask AI a question like what did the focus group participants or the interviewee think of this concept? And you can go into another interview, ask the same question, and compare the different answers. So that kind of helps you with comparing interviews. Even though you can also ask AI to summarize the insights from different interviews all at once, asking AI the question, the same question in different interviews gives you a lot of insight.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I think that sometimes the AI kind of trips and invents things that aren't there. If you ask a question that doesn't really have data, it's still going to give you an answer, and it's going to invent it. It's an issue with all generative AI experiences. The learning curve to understand the features and use them to solve our specific problems was more challenging. Even after reading the how-to guide and FAQs, I still struggle to figure out the best way to use the tool. It would be great to have more guidance from the Marvin team. Also, it's quite expensive compared to the competitors.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin helps at every stage of the research process, from developing discussion guides to recording and analyzing data, with data analysis being the strongest feature. It's great to use throughout the research process, solving the manual work we had with insights before.

  ### 3. Revolutionized Our Research with Seamless Integration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alyssa V.

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I really like the Ask AI feature of Marvin. It's very helpful when I'm trying to find a specific sound bite that I remember hearing or talking to our users about. The deep research and cross-project analysis features are also something I really like because they allow us to select different projects and pull out the themes and sentiments from users who are across multiple applications. The insights feature is really helpful too. I can quickly publish an insight, and it becomes a very public-facing, shareable link for anyone outside of the organization. It's nice that contributors or everyday Marvin users who are not active can see firsthand what we're generally hearing from users or stakeholders.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Sometimes, integrating with Zendesk in Marvin feels a bit slow. Importing thousands of support tickets seems to bog down the system. I think those tickets might not be as helpful once imported since they appear pretty surface-level. I'd love better integration there and maybe it's on our side too, but adding those tickets doesn’t seem as useful yet. I'd appreciate more onboarding education to improve the integration experience. It would be cool if there was a smoother feedback gathering tool for folks not active in Marvin, like our sales reps or BD team, to input feedback without it being a manual bottleneck. A centralized area for them would make things much easier.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Marvin to centralize user research, quickly create insights, and reduce time-consuming tasks like rewatching sessions and finding specific feedback.

  ### 4. I've never used anything more useful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Madalayne R. | UX/UI Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I use this product almost every day when reviewing and analyzing qualitative data from our projects and building out insight reports. I love how much functionality heymarvin has built out for analyzing qualitative data from various sources, creating a catalogued repository for data, as well as building out a research panel for use across teams. I find it very easy to import my research from various sources, add participants to my research panel automatically, catalogue the research, create notes and analyze it for use in my insight reports. It's easy to use, and fun to dig into. It's made research analyses accessible for our team without a dedicated UX researcher and saved so much time in analyzing data and in preventing duplicate research efforts in areas we have already been researched and catalogued across our organization. My experience with customer support has been very positive and they are very receptive to feedback and improvement suggestions, and have taken the time to train my team to better use the software several times.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I think the insights report builder has a lot of potential. It has some very cool features but it definitely could be improved to be more on-par with other document editors, and some bugs could be worked out. The quantitative insights analysis could better complement the qualitative analysis features, even if the product is not meant for analyzing this type of data.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin is helping us to better understand our customers across various topics, and make data-driven product and design decisions. It's also helped us to be more transparent with the feedback we're gathering in sharing it with stakeholders.

  ### 5. Analysing interviews became delightful with Marvin

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zsuzsanna K. | Organizer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

- easy video imports, automatic transcription
- perfect transcripts, other tools are not even getting close
- easy insight creation, easy tagging
- cutting out a highlight video takes minutes instead of hours
- you can integrate many external tools, like Zendesk tickets, survey tools, sales tools - to have all the customer and user insights in one place
- AI is built it from the ground up
- stakeholders can ask questions in an easy, Google-like way from AI that answers from all data uploaded, no hallucinations
- the UI is easy to use, very intuitive. Does what it needs to do.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

There are some smaller glitches time-to-time, that I'm sure will be fixed soon.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Analyzing interviews was a very time consuming, and often daunting task. Since I can use Marvin, I enjoy it, and I can deliver insight to my team in a much shorter time.

  ### 6. Solid tool for managing qualitative research and analysis

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I actively used Marvin in my previous role with over 3+ projects. Overall, it helped me with video analysis, managing 300+ annotated notes, filtering and sorting to find insights.

Marvin helps streamline parts of the moderated research process from recording with the Marvin bot to uploading, organizing, and annotating calls.

It's also useful for quickly creating video highlight reels. If you use it from the beginning of a project, tagging and analysis can be more efficient over time.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

There’s a bit of a learning curve, especially if you're used to planning studies in other tools. Things like writing your research plan or setting up questions might take some adjustment when doing it all within Marvin.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps streamline the qualitative research process, which can often be time consuming and mentally draining. Features like automatic video recording, uploading, and the ability to easily review, annotate, and filter sessions make it easier to work through the data and identify insights more efficiently. Reviewing sessions and exporting video highlights is straightforward, which helps me share more contextual and impactful insights with stakeholders.

  ### 7. Multifunctional repository and analysis tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

We are using Marvin to record our user interviews and to analyze our data. We use the AI tools to start and then create our own analyses from there. It has helped us tremendously to do our work, and we are starting to see the benefits of cross-project analysis as we work with various stakeholders across our organization. We can quickly amass information from past research to help build and develop new projects and make good decisions.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

There are a few usability issues that crop up now and then. For example, the way the project groups are listed makes it hard to see the distinction between groups and projects (they need to use indentation). The AI analyses are a good start, but there are usually redundancies in the resulting analyses that have to be sorted through. It took a little bit for me to understand the differences between things like tags vs. labels. Lastly, the research panel feature feels underdeveloped, so we are not able to make use of that at this time--we are hoping that will get better as time goes on.

But whenever I've mentioned things that cause me issues, the Marvin staff are receptive to making improvements. Given it's a relatively new company, I am hopeful that these improvements will continue to expand the usability and usefulness of the tool.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Marvin, we struggled to use our research as a collective body of work. A project would finish and then it would just sit in the background. With Marvin, we are able to build a repository of our work, which allows us to dig through older projects to see how it can inform future ones. We are also better able to share our body of work with stakeholders across the organization by doing cross-study analyses based on a whatever important data points we want to focus on. Marvin also has solved the issue of transcription and notetaking during research sessions.

  ### 8. THE perfect tool for UX Research

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Martina B. | User Research Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

For my specific use case, Marvin is the ideal tool. I work for a company that develops niche software, which means we have a relatively small pool of customers available for interviews, tests and surveys.

It's crucial for us to centralize and effectively analyze all user feedback—from interviews, meetings, sales discussions, and CSM notes. Marvin excels at this, really outperforming every other tool we've tried.
The AI assistance is amazing, remarkably accurate and well-structured, ensuring no feedback gets lost among the various storage applications we used before.

AI is available in various places. What I particularly like is that I can take a lengthy explanation from a client, and AI condenses it into a short sentence, making it easier to navigate through the jungle of feedback.

Securing a consistent budget wasn't easy. Like in many companies, user research is the “forgotten child” that only gets attention when it pulls off something magical. But Marvin worked its charm—even my colleagues are curious now and use it to ask their own questions, and Marvin’s AI always comes back with answers that are smart, clear, and on point.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Even the best tools have room for improvement:

- Limited integrations: Key tools like Productboard, Microsoft Forms, and Trello aren't yet supported
- Support page:Though the support team is responsive, the documentation needs better organization and more comprehensive coverage of features (That said, the tool is highly user-friendly and intuitive, so you don't need it as much)
- Siloed project structure: Would like have more cross-project analysis tools, such as canvas or Kanban boards, plus the ability to share notes between projects. But I think, the team is working on this.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Building a user research repository to consolidate all documents in various formats in one centralized location.
- Easily accessing past results on feedback, use cases, and personas, with features like quick interview analysis, accurate transcription, AI summaries, and tagging.
- Ultimately, enhancing the value of user research within our company.

  ### 9. Powerful tool for interviews and analysis

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeanette F. | Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I've used a few AI transcription tools in the past, and Marvin is far and beyond the best at capturing transcripts with accuracy - not to mention in languages beyond English. The notes function provides easy qualitative analysis of our team's interviews. The "Ask AI" function is also helpful in searching for specific quotes or evidence of themes across interviews. Marvin simplifies and expedites our qualitative analysis process, allowing us to generate compelling reports for our clients.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

There are some features that the product team has not yet finalized - e.g. allowing transcripts to be saved in a new language once they have been translated. That said, their team is very responsive and helpful in finding alternative solutions.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Through near perfect transcription, Marvin helps our interviewers stay present during interviews and not have to worry about taking notes. The notes function also allows us to seamlessly organize and analyze high-level takeaways across interviews. The primary benefit of Marvin in our company is increased efficiency in data analysis.

  ### 10. Marvin has streamlined our research and made insights more accessible to everyone

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shannon M. | UX Researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

One of the features I love most is how easy it is to find insights using Marvin’s AI-powered search. It’s not just researchers who can benefit—anyone in the company can jump in and quickly get the information they need. Whether I’m looking at findings from years ago or comparing insights across different projects, it’s fast, accurate, and saves so much time. It’s made research feel accessible to everyone, which is a huge win for collaboration.

The observation rooms are another fantastic addition. They’ve made it so much easier to get people from different teams involved in the research process. Stakeholders are more engaged, and it’s exciting to see decisions being directly influenced by real user feedback. It feels like research is finally part of the conversation instead of being something that just sits in a folder somewhere.

I also have to give a shoutout to the Marvin support team. They’ve been amazing—super responsive, helpful, and always willing to listen to feedback. That kind of support makes such a difference, especially when you’re rolling out a new tool across a whole organization.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

The one area where I think Marvin could improve is integrations. I wish there were more options, such as integrations with Rally UXR, Slack, and better functionality with Gong (currently, it only works for people with Gong admin access). That said, they seem receptive to feedback and appear to be working on adding new integrations, which is promising.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin UXR helps us solve two major challenges: creating a centralized repository of easily accessible insights, eliminating the need to dig through hours of clips for specific feedback, and improving research visibility across teams, ensuring that findings actively inform decisions.

  ### 11. Streamlining research with fast transcriptions and powerful AI-driveninsights

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ka S. | Senior UX Researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin has become an essential tool in my research workflow. One of the most impressive features is the fast and nearly error-free transcription of interviews. I rarely have to make corrections, which saves valuable time and allows me to focus more on data analysis.

Another strong point is the ability to upload interview scripts directly into the platform. Questions become marked variables within the transcriptions, making the analysis process much more organized and efficient. This feature is incredibly useful for cross-referencing responses and identifying patterns.

The organization of participants, labels, and tags is also highly intuitive. Managing these elements within the platform makes the analysis process much simpler and more efficient, enabling easy and quick management of the collected data.

The generated insights are visually appealing, with various options for using quotes from the interviews. Whether through highlighted excerpts or colored text, Marvin offers flexibility to present data in a compelling way.

Last but not least, the integrated AI is a major advantage. The feature that helps me the most is the one that identifies participant quotes on specific topics, which is incredibly useful when synthesizing information and building coherent narratives.

Overall, Marvin has proven to be a powerful ally in my research, providing a more efficient and organized experience from transcription to final data analysis.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

One downside I’ve encountered with Marvin is the need for extra caution when uploading your research script as a discussion guide. If you have identical questions, Marvin will treat them as a single question, even if you intend to analyze that question in two different contexts within the research. The best approach is to always differentiate the questions by adding a number or slightly altering the wording.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin is helping me tackle some of the most time-consuming aspects of UX research, such as transcribing interviews and organizing large volumes of data. The tool’s fast, accurate transcription and intuitive organization features streamline the research process, allowing me to focus more on analysis and less on administrative tasks. Additionally, Marvin’s ability to differentiate questions and manage data effectively leads to more precise and actionable insights, which are crucial for driving product decisions.

Beyond efficiency, Marvin enhances the way I present and communicate findings. The AI-driven features make it easier to identify key quotes and themes, while the visually appealing presentation options elevate the impact of my reports. Despite the need for caution when setting up discussion guides, the overall benefits Marvin offers in terms of productivity, organization, and analysis far outweigh this minor drawback, making it an invaluable tool in my UX research toolkit.

  ### 12. Love heymarvin!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Guillaume B. | Senior product designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

- Research participants database management
- Project & cross-projects analysis, insight, andp laylists!
- Ease to analyse notes
- Upload videos: buffer to load/view them (work great when source = google drive)
- Reactive commercial team :)
- AI to summarize a content highlighted in a transcript
- Integration with Slack
- Public insight discovery portal

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

- Not possible to add a single / short feedback from a user without creating a document :(
- Might be interesting to have an integration with Zapier/Make to support more 3rd parties?

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

UX research collection, analysis, and sharing

  ### 13. A great tool to accelerate qualitative research through smart, AI-powered synthesis

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I've been using Marvin for about a year to support our qualitative research and have been really impressed with the platform. Here's where Marvin excels: (1) simple, user-centered interface; (2) intelligent baked-in synthesis tools; (3) a responsive management team. (1) First, Marvin is a simple and easy-to-use app. The toolbar is unclutted. The file structure makes sense. It is intuitive to tag and classify your research and synthesize it on-the-fly. (2) Speaking of synthesis, Marvin streamlines the process of sorting through all different types of unstructured data, including audio recordings, research notes, and even sketches. (3) Third, beyond the actual application, Marvin's proactive management team (from the CEO all the way down to the frontline support team) propel Marvin to a trusted part of my research toolkit. From day one, the platform has been easy to standup and integrate into our enterprise systems. Other larger software platforms could learn from Marvin's commitment to quality, transparency, and proactivity.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

In general, I'm impressed with Marvin's iterative, constantly improving design. One area still ripe for improvement is the AI search bar, which restricts your input to only a handful of words before getting cut off by the available space in the form filler. The AI search still works effectively, but requires a bit of manipulation to refer back to the entire search string.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin streamlines the process of sorting through all different types of unstructured data from qualitaitive research, including audio recordings, research notes, and even sketches.

  ### 14. Marvin was a gamechanger for my business!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Masharika P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin's platform is quite intuitive. I am not a qualitative researcher by formal training, but the ways in which I'm able to collect, analyze, and synthesize data allow me to engage with large data sets with ease and confidence. Their staff are also very accessible in the event that questions arise. The AI features are also quite useful. Lastly, their capacity to engage with a multitude of languages is very helpful in an increasingly global/multilingual context.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I am struggling to find something that I dislike about the platform.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin enables me to understand the experiences of people that I interview in an aggregate manner.

  ### 15. Amazing platform to document and analyse research data˜

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mitsya D. | UX Researcher, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I absolutelly love the search repository feature with AI technology. You can simply post your research insights in marvin and ask anything to it and it gives you a full analysis on what the team have so far in data. Also is great trascriptor for interviews! I also love the feature of tagging the interview trasncript directly connected with the research questions. It helps a lot the anlysis afterwards. Another great feature from Marvin is the capacity of analysing with AI the results of quantitative studies like surveys.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin could improve the canva board the in the analysis section with more features, like Miro and Dovetail. It makes a lot easier to group tagged narratives around. Also miss a feature in the AI survey analysis: When you have open answered questions, it does not translate them to english in case the users speaks a foreign language.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps to speed up the analysis process and amazing tool for finding answers for research questions in the insight section since it has an AI technology that works like a ChatGPT but the data is all the insights we have docummented, and it does automatic analysis based on all researches

  ### 16. Marvin is the tool that makes research and analysis easier through AI

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeremy K. | UX Researcher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

It's brilliant at summarising transcripts and presenting key insights from interviews, surveys and other documents like PDFs.

Another great feature is its ability to livestream interviews to other guests, which is really helpful for involving key stakeholders.

I also like that there's areas to present the output of research insights as well as store the inputs of the research process.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

The trickiest thing is the learning curve. Marvin seems to have a point of view about how you should present and store data, but it's not entirely clear if you're operating against it's POV.

An example of this pain point I have is in the tagging taxonomy. It looks like it wants you to only use this at the file level for segmentation, and not thematic tagging, though thematic tagging feels intuitive to me at that level.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping us to efficiently analyze research. It also presents a way of storing both the inputs and outputs of that research.

  ### 17. Transformative Product for Design Thinkers and UX Consultants

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex J. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin's ability to take voice recordings of interviews and create incredibly accurate insights report is next level! It has saved me so much time and I really can't imagine going back to my old way of handwriting notes, transcribing, and then summarizing it into an insights report. Marvin has quadrupled our team capacity for user research.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Unable to pay month to month - as a small business it was difficult to find the cash to pay for the product for a whole year, especially as a seasonal industry.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Developing an insights report based on aggregated user interviews, white papers, best practice research, and internal documents. It allows us to keep all of our project research in one place and draw conclusions on our whole library of assets.

  ### 18. Easy, fast and a great Research companion

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin makes the research process a lot easier than it was.

With Marvin you cant take notes, record your interviews, tag them and analyze them. That really makes any research plan easier and faster.

The thing I like the most is the Ask AI feature, because it allows you to summarize, search and find patterns in your surveys and interviews. This feature also helps to socialize the results with other teams because they can ask any question they have in a natural language and recieve useful information based on the insights you have from diverse projects.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

When you are working a lot with Marvin it can freeze, and you can't use the ask AI feature for a set of interviews, it only works with insights and individual tests.

Also, sometimes it can be hard to understand the information architecture of the site.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin is helping me to solve timing issues, qualitative and quantitative data analysis in a faster, easier and complete way and the most important issue we have, research results socialization.

  ### 19. Solves some of my biggest problems as a UX Researcher

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mindy H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

My least favorite part of my job is rewatching user interviews to take notes & tag insights. Marvin basically makes this process obsolete.

If you do your user interviews through Marvin, it takes notes for you (and also lets you take timestamped notes during the interview as well). If you prefer to import your interview recordings later, it generates a transcript and a summary. It can also tag insights for you (and tag labels are nested!! which I love).

I work in a very niche field, so I'm used to manually inputting a lot of custom lingo into AI transcript generators. I was astonished at how accurate Marvin's transcript was without me giving it any context or lingo to rely on. The summary it provides is also super detailed and accurate.

Combined with the ability to ask Marvin questions - for example, what the user said about a specific feature - it becomes incredibly easy to do both general analysis of a research session & to pull out any specific nuggets you're looking for.

It's also got some great features around protecting PII & deeper analysis.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I don't like their subscription tiers. The free tier isn't practically usable as it only allows for 5 files per month. That would let you do a single five-participant usability study per month - not even a survey or an NPS - and if that's all the research you're doing, you don't really need a time-saving tool like Marvin anyway.

The next tier up - billed at "good for startups" - charges per user & has a minimum of 5 users. I don't know any startups (including mine) that have 5 employees who would need a tool like this. Most are lucky to have one.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Understanding insights from user feedback

  ### 20. HeyMarvin is a game changer for user research!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Beth S. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

I love Marvin!! He's my new best friend! This application has completely changed my life as a user experience design and research practitioneer. I've been in the field for over 20 years, and Marvin is the single most important application I use for faciliating the recording of research sessions, consolidating feedback and providing insights across user sessions for analysis. In addition, I use Marvin heavily for examining NPS and product satisfaction data collected in user surveys. I am able to share out my findings with the wider organization and highlight areas where improvments could be made and uncover areas where improvments have been made and users are acknowledging the improvements.

The Marvin team is outstanding. They are always available to help and explain the features and benefits of the application when I require assistance.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Simply that it cannot cover additional use cases for data consolidation as an integration does not exist. It is fantastic for what it can do.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin is solving the problem of consolidating user research sessions and providing a thorough and insightful output that can be leveraged in presentations to my organization.

  ### 21. A Researcher's Dream Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Summer S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin is an amazing comprehensive tool! I have worked at companies where we have used confluence and dovetail as repositories and nothing compares! The way you are able to store data is really organized and clear. There's a separate view for stakeholders to view reports without getting into the weeds of the research material. You can tag and label data. You can analyze data in different ways that make sense to you. Create small insights or large reports. The AI functionality is great! You can generate summaries on your data based on emotion or themes. You can use it to search for what you need cross-projects. You can also use Marvin to record your interviews or meetings and analyze the feedback directly in the tool. Its such a game changer. The people that work there are so helpful too. They respond to all my questions and even listen to suggestions! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MARVIN!

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I have no complaints! Seriously an amazing tool.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Store and organize our data

Analyze feedback

Share finding with stakeholders

Use for surveys, unmoderated and moderated tests

  ### 22. The best research tool I've ever used. It speeds up notes, analysis, and synthesis.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2024

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Auto Notes, Auto-Analysis, and Ask AI features allow me to skip tedious tasks and get answers faster.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

No dislikes at the moment. It could benefit from more integrations with other research tools.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Analyzing user feedback data in interviews, surveys, support tickets, and sales calls.

  ### 23. Marvin is essential

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erick R. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2023

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

It's fantastic to learn that Marvin has become an indispensable tool for your research and analysis endeavors. The incorporation of AI, particularly the ChatGPT-like search feature, appears to have significantly elevated the tool's capabilities, enabling your team to draw more impactful insights and generate meaningful recommendations.

The recent enhancement of Marvin's repository functionalities, with features akin to ChatGPT search, is commendable. This advancement not only facilitates more effective linking of direct quotes and events from research sessions to insights but also allows for thematic analyses across various research sessions and even multiple projects, thereby enriching the depth and breadth of your findings.

The responsiveness of the Marvin team to your feedback is a positive indicator of their commitment to refining and optimizing the product based on user needs. The fact that they have swiftly implemented requested functionalities in less than a year of your subscription underscores their dedication to delivering a product that evolves in tandem with user requirements.

Maintaining an open line of communication with the Marvin team can prove beneficial as you continue to utilize the tool. Providing ongoing insights and suggestions will likely contribute to further refinements and innovations, ensuring that Marvin remains a valuable asset that aligns with your team's ever-changing needs.

The success story of Marvin exemplifies the transformative impact of AI-driven tools in simplifying and enhancing complex tasks like research analysis.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

At times, the transcription quality may fluctuate, necessitating manual adjustments to fully harness the capabilities of AI. While the live note-taking feature is beneficial, I would appreciate the ability to simultaneously take my own live notes alongside the AI-generated notes.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin enhances the rigor of our research analyses by simplifying the process of capturing, tagging, and organizing all our research notes. It facilitates the identification of themes within these notes. Additionally, the AI-powered repository tool significantly amplifies the impact of our research efforts.

  ### 24. Cuts our analysis time in half and super user friendly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Market Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2023

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin has a fantastic AI tool which themes up and cuts down your analysis time. The tool is great to get a quick snapshot of your data but the additional tools to interrogate further are also great. Labeling and tagging your insights makes the experience super user friendly particularly with large data sets.

They are constantly improving the platform so expect to see changes over time!

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Video editing tool - the tool isn't like a traditional video editing tool which is fine, but would love to be able to create show reels as I would be able to in imovie etc.

Dubbing and subtitling foreign languages - this is in the works (so I'm told) so I'm excited to see when this becomes part of the offering! We currently use another provider for this so would love to see this be integrated into one solution

There are some challenges in the transcribing - sometimes it doesn't pick up who is speaking correctly which can be a bit of a pain.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Transcription is no longer outsourced, saving time and money

Analysis no longer lives on paper / Miro - everything is in one place

  ### 25. Innovative research solution. Responsive team.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2023

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin helps me and my team to be more rigorous in our research analysis. The tool is very powerful. We can more easily connect direct quotes or events from a research session to an insight. We can also use AI to help us conduct thematic analyses across many different research sessions and even across multiple projects.
The repository functionalities of the tool have just recently gotten a great upgrade, too, leveraging ChatGPT-like search for research. This makes our research insights and recommendations more impactful for longer.
When we have feedback for the Marvin team on how to improve the utility of the product, they are very receptive and have already introduced some of the requested functionalities mutliple times since being a customer for less than a year.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Sometimes the transcription quality can vary which requires me to manually fix the transcript to be able to fully leverage the AI capabilities.
The live note-taking is great, but I wish there were a way that I could take live notes myself while also having the AI take notes simultaneously.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin helps us to be more rigourous in our research analyses by making it easier to capture, tag, and organize all of our research notes; and then realize themes through those notes.
it also helps us to heighten the impact of our research through a very useful AI-powered repository tool.

  ### 26. A game changer for getting the most from your research data

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2023

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

We're about 6 months into the journey of having a dedicated research repository. From the sales process to onboarding, and through to everyday use, our experience so far has been great. Marvin as a company is great, friendly, responsive, great customer support. Marvin as a product is excellent - fast, stable and nice to use. Equal attention seems to have been given to powerful features like tagging and AI as well as the overall user experience.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

There's nothing I dislike. Marvin's support content (guides, help articles etc) could be more thorough in terms of the breadth of content and the level of detail in some of the guides/articles themselves. This is a minor thing however because their customer support is very good.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin is helping us with how we store research data, findings and insights and share those things with people and teams.

  ### 27. Fantastic tool for analysis, synthesis and storage

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2023

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

We've been using Marvin for a few months now and it's really helped us think through how we analyse and store data to enable access for stakeholders. We were initially looking for a repository, but found that Marvin's analysis functions are incredibly useful for so many things.

The setting up of labels and tags for coding has helped us to think through what we're trying to learn before we start analysing, which has made the quality of our research that much better. This process has also helped us discuss our approaches to research as a team. Although it does take a bit more time in the earlier stages of analysis, it makes the write-up a lot quicker. It's really useful that you can edit the tags and labels on the go as well. The AI element has been a real time saver and although we rely mainly on human analysis, the AI is a useful validation tool.

From repository perspective, initial feedback from stakeholders is that it's been easy to locate research as we've uploaded historical data.

The support is first class and the team respond to queries incredibly quickly.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

We've had occasional non-responsiveness in the browser, but that may not be a function of the tool itself. Since reporting it to the team, it seems to have resolved. Getting a handle on how to use the tags and labels was a bit tricky at first, and when you have multiple researchers, it's important ton get clear on the difference between the two. After a bit of getting used to it, we're using it just fine now.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping us code our data in a systematic way. This creates the opportunity for the team to get clear on what we're coding, how and why, which has been helpful in getting some standardisation in the approaches we take. It's also been good as a repository, although we are still in the early stages of this part of using it.

  ### 28. The best Research Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rosielli s. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2023

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin is the best research tool that you can possibly have. It accelerates your work, so you can focus on what really matters, the analysis and insights.
The AI feature also is very helpful to summarize the interviews and contribute with highlights about the main topics of the discussion.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

I don`t have anything that I dislike, maybe there are some improvements of the transcription for the portuguese language.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin solves the problem of having research available for all the company, so the stakeholders can be closer to research and user insights.

  ### 29. Marvin is a game changer!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Market Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2023

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin is fantastic for qualitative research, analysying both survey open ended and depth / group interviews. The AI analysis and theme identification are next level, making my job more efficient. It's so easy to use.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Generating AI summaries can sometimes be a little slow.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is making analysing large volumes of qual data a lot easier and more efficient.

  ### 30. Brings efficiencies to manual tasks

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lauren N. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin centralizes the storage, annotation, and analytics of interviews in an efficient and organized manner. The tools allow me to do things like tag and quantify themes that are difficult to do manually and create sharable video clips which allows me to share insights to stakeholders in a way we were previously unable to do using docs or emails. Furthermore, having all of my interviews stored in one place and SEARCHABLE is amazing. I can search the transcripts for themes or keywords I'm looking for insights on and it's incredibly efficient.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin does require users to be educated on how to use the product, to get the full value out of the license (which is not cheap), your users need to commit to using the tool.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin allows us to store and share our user insights (interviews), this is incredibly beneficial because user research was very siloed by product team and the insights were not shared with stakeholders easily, or if they were it was via an email or document that you would forget about shortly after. This has allowed us better insights into tracking the users that we speak with and also utilizing the insights we are gathering.

  ### 31. Marvin is a great product with a lot of room to grow

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2023

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

It pushes us into a more formal process. The AI summaries are solid. The Analyis tool is game changing. Creating montages is a snap.

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

The reporting capabilities have a lot of room to grow. There are some UX nuoisances.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We run several client projects per month. Marvin dramatically reduces the amount of time we spend in analysis and video highlight creation.

  ### 32. The tool every Researcher needs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2022

**What do you like best about HeyMarvin?**

Marvin provides everything from note-taking to a repository. The transcription is far better than I have ever encountered with other research tools. It makes the process so much easier and especially helpful if you are a small team and need to democratize. The ability to upload data (videos, texts), have videos automatically transcribed (extremely accurately), tag, analyze, and even make highlight reels of videos. It's so awesome!

**What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?**

Honestly, there was nothing I disliked about Marvin. I've tried several different tools and didn't find any of them close to as comprehensive as Marvin. We were having an internal issue with uploading videos but the team at Marvin was able to identify our internal issue and fix it quickly.

**What problems is HeyMarvin solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marvin is making it faster and easier to do research for my team. There is no need to have anyone take notes which has allowed for more time for other research projects. The analysis is all in one place and easier to disseminate.
