"Optimized Budgeting with Seamless Access"
5/5
What do you like best about Martus?

I like that I'm able to do forecasting in Martus, work with department and division heads to reforecast their end of year spend, and that they can access their spending information at any time without needing me to run reports for them. I also appreciate that Martus allows the department and division heads to be more active participants in the forecasting process, giving them a sense of ownership and more buy-in to the overall budget of the school. Additionally, the onboarding process was pretty easy, with a very in-depth approach and lots of informative meetings with a rep, which I got a lot out of. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Martus?

One thing that I'm still learning to work well within Martus is some of the personnel features. We do not always do a flat increase or a percentage increase as we have employees who are subject to a collective bargaining agreement and therefore receive salary increases via steps. If we were able to embed a multiyear step schedule that we could then tie to each individual and indicate which step the individual is in when we do our budgeting, and have it auto pull from the table, that would be cool. "Straightforward, Integrated Budgeting with Best-in-Class Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Martus?

Martus is straightforward, accessible, and relatively easy to learn. I really appreciate the way it combines and compiles data across multiple types of accounting dimensions. Martus integrates easily with our accounting software. The price is very fair and reasonable. The support and relationship management are without question, best in class. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Martus?

There are a few features that stop short of their potential. What I appreciate, despite certain challenges, is that Martus really listens to customer experience. Sadly, this is an uncommon feature despite what many software companies claim. At Martus, they say they listen and they really do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Elevated Our Budgeting With Drill-Down Actuals, Notes, and Helpful Worksheets"
5/5
What do you like best about Martus?

I love that you can see the actuals for current and prior years and drill down to the details as you are budgeting for a new year. I love that you can attach backup and make notes. I have gone back to the notes several times this year to see what I was budgeting for. The special purpose worksheets are so helpful to build out lines with several charges like subscriptions. I am not really sure. Based on accounting software we have looked at, it seems to be fairly priced. I really want my team to use it more for reporting. The more we use it, the more it is worth it. What do you dislike about Martus?

I am not really sure I have a dislike yet. It has elevated our budgeting process so much. I wish it connected directly with ShelbyNext but the work around is great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Detailed, Easy-to-Use Personnel Budgeting with Helpful Onboarding"
4/5
What do you like best about Martus?

When completing our budget, I really appreciate how detailed the personnel budgeting module is. It allows us to budget for personnel and any benefit-related items in a thorough, detailed way. The module is easy to use, and we haven’t heard from staff that they’ve had any issues using Martus. Our onboarding specialist was great and has been very helpful in getting everything set up. We are currently not using the integration but will be in the near future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Martus?

There was a fairly steep learning curve when getting Martus set up. It took my team and me some time to get used to how to enter budget information. Once we got the hang of it, though, it became pretty intuitive to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Smooth Transition, Enhanced Budget Efficiency"
5/5
What do you like best about Martus?

The personnel budgeting feature in Martus has significantly streamlined our budgeting process by eliminating our reliance on Excel. Prior to adopting Martus, I was responsible for building and continuously updating a personnel budget model each time the organization onboarded new staff or adjusted our FTE count, a process that was both time-consuming and prone to error. Martus has greatly improved both our efficiency and accuracy in this area. The implementation experience was equally impressive. The initial setup was seamless, and the training provided by Andrea M. and her team was thorough, patient, and well structured. Their use of video recordings as reference materials was particularly helpful. Thanks to their support, we were able to migrate our data smoothly and have the budget ready for BOD approval withing just two months. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Martus?

One area with room for improvement is the Report Builder. While the availability of pre-built templates does make the process more approachable, eliminating the need to build reports entirely from scratch, additional training on this feature would be beneficial. More in-depth guidance would help enhance the overall user experience and allow users to take fuller advantage of its capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Martus Eliminated Our Spreadsheet Work—Flexible, Effortless Data Management"
5/5
What do you like best about Martus?

Martus has eliminated so much of the spreadsheet work that most of us have been doing for years. I’m still shocked by how much effort it has removed, and at the same time the data feels far more flexible and easier to work with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Martus?

I honestly haven’t found a downside so far. There are still plenty of features I want to dig into, but they all seem very promising. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Affordable, Feature-Rich Budgeting for Multi-Campus Ministries"
5/5
What do you like best about Martus?

Martus is a great tool for budgeting. We are a church and I like how it is affordable and still has all of the functionality that we need. We are able to break out multiple ministry areas across 3 campuses and have a budget for each one. The support team has also been amazing in getting it set up and is very responsive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Martus?

The only complaint I have is when trying to run another area's budget, and if you go back to the main screen it clears out all prior filters. So if you were looking at the next fiscal year it kicks you back to the current one. If you don't catch it you could be looking at wrong data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Martus Makes Real-Time Budgeting Collaborative and Transparent"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Martus?

Martus has provided a platform that allows me to share up-to-date financial data with departmental managers as well as allows those managers to be an active participant in the budgeting process. They're getting real time tracking to budget as well as giving buy-in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Martus?

My biggest struggle with Martus is related to forecasting. I find it a bit complicated and would love a more user friendly way to reforecast without copying or recreating my original budget and then having to make adjustments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive and Efficient with Fantastic Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Martus?

I find Martus very intuitive to use, even as a first-time user. The ease of use really stands out for me. Additionally, the support module is fantastic, which enhances my overall experience with the software. Setting up Martus was extremely easy and fast too. Additionally, support tickets are handled incredibly fast and the support staff is top notch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Martus?

I think that there is a need to continue to improve the personnel budgeting module. Improvements have been made but there is still work to be done. Also, I think Martus needs to develop something for capital expenditure budgeting and have that flow down into the depreciation budgeting in the planner document. "Seamless Data Migration and Sync—Backed by Responsive, Expert Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Martus?

The data migration was seamless, and one of the biggest advantages was the synchronization between our accounting software and Martus, which significantly simplified the implementation process.

Martus also provides an excellent library of tutorials and training resources. Their implementation and support teams have been responsive, knowledgeable, and truly committed to our success. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Martus?

Updating the personnel model was tedious. Some departments have overlapping accounts, and Martus wasn’t able to support that structure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
