I have found many tools for creating API and it's reusability and interface for writing business logic but I would prefer Martini for the following reasons: * it supports multiple Authorizations with Groups. * Logging * We can reuse the service also while creating new APIs * Automatically documentation * It provides the report which is the key feature nowadays. * It has a good interface with multiple languages. * If you are trained well, it's very easy to use and you'd love it once you are familiar with the martini. * It provides Swagger, Postman, and OpenAPI compatible Request. * It takes care regarding request and response format as well. Overall this product will be used extensively as it has so many features. **What do you dislike about Martini?** No such but few are as follows: If you are a beginner then it takes a little more time to understand the keyword and structure. Documentation can be better in terms of API architecture with some block diagram. One Guide Tour should be there for every feature so that everyone can get it done easily. The test case part should be there or automation for testing is left. **Recommendations to others considering Martini:** Do not hesitate, just give a try, you won't regret it. **What problems is Martini solving and how is that benefiting you?** Every time we need to write an API from scratch and here you can jump to business logic directly and it provides direct testing for services so it's a major advantage while implementing business logic in any service. The documentation is useful. The quick start tutorial helps you to get familiar with the application in less than an hour. The platform provides a lot of handy tools for developing and integrating web applications. For example, I was impressed that you can start a REST API service with just a few clicks. The ease of API documenting, securing, reporting and other features can definitely speed up the development process. In addition, the application interface is very user friendly. No hassle of managing dependencies and libraries • IDE is professional, has familiar icons, and easy to get on with. • Very in-depth documentation • Planning of software architecture and APIs are extremely easy before actually writing code. • Allows parallel development of client and server-side. Once APIs are developed and exposed, ∘ both client and backend developers can work at their own pace. Greatly reduces the task blocking on the clientside development because of the unfinished module in the backend. ∘ The integration of client and server-side can remain seamless. Lesser chance of conflict. ∘ During development, failure in the backend component won't affect the client app if APIs are mocked. • Ability to quickly export the API definitions to multiple specifications and standards. User with little bootstrap knowledge finds it handy. • Multiple graph support • The tip icon (light bulb) on the bottom right corner is helpful to explore more features. • Extremely feature-rich. After a couple of successful tries, persuades the user to use it for the development and purchase the license. • Support for wide ranges of databases. **What do you dislike about Martini?** • Steep learning curve. Knowing the system is difficult in the beginning but once you get your hands on, it's great. • Documentation does not provide sufficient information about the terminologies used. The idea of "Gloop", "Flux" and "Services" are really hard to grasp in the beginning. • The parts of the interface (Navigator, Toolbar, Editor, Properties View, etc) needs to be clicked to bring it into the active state before using any feature inside such as button click. Only one part of the interface is active once, which is a little boring and feels like an unnecessary extra click each time. • When the tabs are resized by grabbing the separator, there is no horizontal scroll-bar present to indicate that the features or other UI elements are hidden. For instance, in the HTTP client, when the width of the "Request" tab is reduced, a horizontal scroll-bar in the bottom is not present to indicate that the contents are hidden and can be scrolled. • Enable/Disable Auto-save feature for each service, API, or any file opened in the editor would have been easier. **Recommendations to others considering Martini:** It's a very useful tool that is extremely helpful for development tasks. I highly recommend to try and use it. **What problems is Martini solving and how is that benefiting you?** • Rapid application development for client and server sides at their own pace. • API development, update, and publishing it. • Mock API with the responses. • Test and Debug the services and endpoints. • Simulate the event listeners. • Analysis of the number of API calls, the behavior of calls, number of invocations, and all which can be useful for optimization. • Focus more on the test, development rather than knowing code and syntaxes for different databases, API specifications, etc. ### 6. I did not expect it to be so powerful and intuitive. When they say "low-code" they really mean it. I created services and API with almost no code whatsoever just by dragging and dropping. I also love how API security--which includes oAuth2-- is available out of the box. The IDE also provides an easy to use visual report builder. Just a few clicks and bam! a beautiful report with charts and statistics. After a few hours of playing with it, I am now looking to switch to it as it facilitates workflows and I can see how it speeds up application integration even with legacy systems. **What do you dislike about Martini?** I really liked everything about it. The only thing I would change is adding autosave to the "run" button for services, APIs, and Endpoints because if one does not manually save before running, the IDE throws an exception. This is a very minor issue in my opinion and once I got the hang of it, it did not bother me anymore. **Recommendations to others considering Martini:** Just try it. Its very easy to create apis and invoke through browser. No need to write code. UI provided is pretty cool and easy to understand. 2. Setting the mandatory fields required by the service using endpoint is really easy. 3. Testing of the endpoint can be done using the tool without any need to actually deploy the application in a container like tomcat. 4. Multiple response formats supported e.g JSON, xml etc. 5. Endpoint can be published and clients like postman can be used to call apis any number of times it wants. 6. Api docs can be exported in the form of swagger schemas which is pretty awesome to make users understand the api contract. 7. Martini’s desktop http client helps in testing the apis created and it also helps in testing whether api needs authentication or not. 8. It can be used for multiple use cases like:- 1. Creating a stub api for testing purposes. 2. When we don’t want to write unnecessary code and deploy the code in a separate container. 3. We don’t want to write separate unit and functional tests to test the stub apis. Martini’s built in HTTP client can be used for testing. And we can also use Martini’s report to check metrics like number of requests, client id etc. 4. When we want to generate swagger docs and share the details with third party since Martini can be used for documenting the apis as well. ### 8. Best Low Code Rapid Development Tool and Guess what? I used to have at least three apps open Postman for testing, Eclipse for development and a database app, say Workbench. With Martini, all of them are integrated, and you have seamless experience. Plus as they share data, duplicity of efforts is completely diminished. It has support for multiple languages, and testing approach at every layer, and using them very sophisticated strategy of development, testing and documentation could be implemented rather easily. Designing and implementing workflows is very easy. Also, with Martini, using cloud and desktop is ubiquitous. You could start with desktop and get yourself familiar. Later switch to cloud for better coordination and management. **What do you dislike about Martini?** Being feature rich, it has multiple choices, and using them optimally requires certain learning curve. But reduction in overheads is so huge that I found it appealing to start using it. Inserting videos in tutorials is really nice, but it seems rather fast to me. Better if you provide a pause button also. It's compatible with other external tools like Swagger, Postman and others, the whole documentation can be done directly in the same Martini. I use Linux and the installation was pretty easy, very simple! I just needed to download a file and ran it, any developer is familiarized with an IDE, so you will understand fastly the whole interface. Well documented, explanation very clear, I read the quick start tutorial and in 30 minutes I was able to see many features that Martini has. Also I saw that it has a lot of features, different kind of databases, protocols, levels of security, I'm so surprised!. I normally develop API's using Java and it was so fast to build my API and test it. Also I tested reports, simple clicks and I was able to create my report. Believe me, highly recommended! **What do you dislike about Martini?** Perhaps UI could be better, I mean it's very stable, however a little more about the look & feel. It really takes away tons of boilerplate code and let's you focus on the important pieces. The next thing that is quite impressive is the full Tracker system that allows you to collect transaction information with ease. I have done this with the ELK stack by hand, and even though I really like it as well, the time savings are spectacular. The documentation is very thorough and easy to follow, which is critical for such a solution, and is able to focus on the specific feature it's explaining, allowing you to forget about the rest while you pickup the pace. They have a really great getting started tutorial which puts you up to speed in around 30-60 minutes. Oh and Gloop. I love the concept :) **What do you dislike about Martini?** I believe the super feature-rich quality of Martini is a double edged sword. The first impression when opening the IDE was a bit overwhelming and might discourage developers who haven't taken a look at the detailed documentation. However, the moment you start building your first service, your first API... etc, it all quickly feels familiar intuitive, and very fast thanks to the hotkeys and the content-assist interface. **What problems is Martini solving and how is that benefiting you?** For us, it's the development of secure, documented, robust and fully compliant APIs fast. We are now able to link services that respond to those API endpoints one after another, while tracking each transaction and allowing us to properly limit the throughput and properly charge the customer. ### 20. The workflow is very easy and intuitive, which is very important for the users that are probably going to use the application. You can find almost everything you need to run a service, from ready to use controllers, to message queues and even authorization using Oauth2. I loved the fact that Martini will make you create real RESTful APIs. It's created in a such way that you will have to adopt best practices in thinking your requests. There are a lot of problems with developers that don't really write RESTful http layers. The last thing which usually is quite hard to implement, is a good logging layer. Well, Martini has this covered also with great tools that you can use after a few clicks. With Martini we don't need programming nerds that are proficient in specific programming languages and frameworks to create rest/soap apis. Non-programmers can be trained to use this platform and they are guaranteed to become productive within a short span of time. Martini makes the development process much faster and convenient with various wizards embedded in it. The intellisense of the IDE is awesome. The cumbersome task of documenting an API is just made easy and can be done with a click in Martini. The task of maintaining API logs in the server and documenting them in desired format is handy in Martini. Martini provides us with inbuilt API monitoring and API throttling features. We just need to make rules for logging and throttling. Securing APIs and Managing users and groups are no longer tedious and it has inbuilt compatibility for OAuth and basic tokens. Martini is a great tool to handle such usecases and focus on your core logic instead of working on 'lower level' programming and dev-ops. There are various use cases in which you need to automate tasks by directly syncing up with email and FTP servers. Traditional approach would require you to write separate pollers for these tasks and maintaining them becomes unnecessary load on developers. Martini has provided seamless integration for same, which has removed much load from our developers and let them focus on more important tasks. Installation and registration of Martini was smooth on my macOS and everything worked as expected. The IDE itself looks very nice and familiar, as a software developer, I oriented in the environment very quickly. I downloaded it first time and went through the documentation. Your APIs automatically generated in OpenAPI, Swagger and SOAP. I found Martini has API security including OAuth2 and its easy to build. Martini has features to connect all RDMS database, NoSQLs, has option to connect to Message Queues including ActiveMQ, RebitMQ and Kafka. It will be a strong skill for a developer as well as a devOps when you learn this platform. There are already developed templates Gloop for developing a web application in a short time. I started to use Martini as a beginner and i could make my first Service in 15min which was amazing. I would recommend to go through Martini and check the features available for your.
