I created an API under 2 minutes with the whole requirements. I can create different structures with ease and integrate them drag n drop or simple selection. **What do you dislike about Martini?** Workflows are a little bit complicated. I had to go to different places of the IDE to complete one service creation. The processes that are related to each other can be automatically shown to the user without selection requirements. **Recommendations to others considering Martini:** I recommendation to others that give a chance to Martini. It is a greate tool and whole complicated and time consuming processes is being done without extra effort. **What problems is Martini solving and how is that benefiting you?** Martini is solving the API creation process efficiently. I created an API with OAuth in one minute and used it without a problem. API documentation is also excellent and compatible with standard API documentation formats like Swagger, OpenAPI. ### 3. Everything was there in one tool, from creating the API to documenting, publishing and reporting. I think for the first endpoint I barely write a line of code. I have heavily used the code completion suggestions and the build-in drag&drop data mapper and the visual API editor. It was easy to test the services without a need to use a different tool (I liked how I was able to copy the access token - in context of security - and use it in the client tests) **What do you dislike about Martini?** Nothing so far. Docs are really easy to understand, not only because of how they are written, but also because the application has very clean concepts and abstractions. * Clean Separation of Endpoint and Services. This allows the user to implement the integration logic separately from how it is consumed. Multiple endpoints can then be used to get the necessary inputs to invoke the service. * Implementations can be done using a gui/drag-drop/no-code language called Gloop. If you hit it's limits, you can implement logic using Groovy. * (Mostly) Generated API documentation. This is great because, who wants to write documentation? **What do you dislike about Martini?** * Authentication options seem a bit limited. We can use an embedded user system coupled with oAuth2. - There seems to be no way to make a distinction between client and user, only user with password grant_type seems supported. - If we want custom authentication, we'll have to fallbackt to adding a proxy and securing it at the network layer. - Maybe a great option would be to have an option to create Gloop or Groovy Authentication filter as well. I couldn't find any documentation on how to create packages without the IDE. It seems to be a json based format and it would totally awesome to be able to generate these packages from code. There is a REST api that seems to support this, but I couldn't find detailed documention. (yet) Git support would also be a very interesting feature. It could be another way to distribute the packages between different instances. Staging->Prod for instance. Prometheus Metrics would be great as well. **What problems is Martini solving and how is that benefiting you?** Martini is a great option to easiliy add (and manage) API's on top of existing systems. Enterprise integration in a bus-type architecture would benefit as well. Martini also supports SOAP APIS. -Built in Auth: You can secure your APIs with built in authorization mechanism. -Reports: Creating reports for services takes just a number of clicks. Other good thing: It's supports multiple databases. And last but not least it's free and this is a good thing these days :) **What do you dislike about Martini?** I didn't faced any serious problems but there is some small issues. Firstly install size. It's about 1 GB and If you don't have speed internet It takes some time to install. And the second one: Martini has some really cool visual features but colors and themes. There is some themes out there but I don't think it's enough. If it can be more personalized it would be great. And also there is some visual problems in dark mode.
