Very visual, easy to handle. I like tagging as well. I find the ability to make comments and draw on top of pdfs, word documents, and all kinds of documents significant, and that I can save the image of the markup. **What do you dislike about Markup?** Sometimes drawings disappear if not saved correctly, and they become linked to one another, challenging to mix words with graphics, color lines, comments. I like the ability to respond to comments, but sometimes it does not work if the name is incorrect, and it is hard to make it disappear. I wouldn't say I like how it is not easy to handle many markups in one composition and sometimes zoom in and have everything disappear when I had been working on a document for a long time. **Recommendations to others considering Markup:** Markup is an excellent program for marking up papers, compositions, grammar, writing in free form or with a key, for making comments, etc. I love how it can interact with different platforms and handle different kinds of document formats, including pdf, which is not easy to find. Bear in mind that it can be expensive if you get it yourself, but organizations get a reasonable price overall. **What problems is Markup solving and how is that benefiting you?** Grading compositions for second language learners. Good for free-form checking with my own codes. I like the colors, the ability to mark however I want. It helps me solve my grading quickly, and it connects to Canvas, which is a great feature. I also like working with different kinds of documents with no problem, such as pdfs, word documents, rtf text, among others. I grade my Spanish compositions and my writing seminar composition and reviews with Markup and like how it works well. ### 2. It works well and I'm able to highlight all sorts of documents. I have been using it for a couple of years, I have thoroughly enjoyed using this convenient tool for my PDFs, on my iPhone and my iPad. It has come in really handy and seamless across all my devices. **What do you dislike about Markup?** The app stops playing when the device's cover is closed or the screen times out and goes blank making it unsuitable for listening to a document while driving in a car. This function might need improvement, but overall I just love the app and have never experienced any other problems with it. **Recommendations to others considering Markup:** At first I was using the app only for saving the information and organizing it, but then I started using it for communication too. The short articles that the users create can be really useful and you can annotate them too, so the entire network becomes something like an alive journal, where people can communicate with each other. I think it's worth your attempt to try the feature. **What problems is Markup solving and how is that benefiting you?** The application is really good in many aspects. It makes it so easy to take pictures with my phone and turn them into PDFs that are so much easier to deal with than JPEGs. Actually, the app has everything I need for reading and taking notes on documents, and I think this audio note feature is simply great ### 4. It's convenient to save and markup parts of articles and share them easily. Markup allows you to save text fragments immediately while you're browsing - you can share within your group so it's great for collaborative projects. **What do you dislike about Markup?** There is a big difference between the app and the browser version of Markup. I like them both, but they seem to be two different apps since the functions are so different. I use them both, but while the app has many features, like sharing and annotating, the browser version pretty much only lets you to save text - not always convenient. **Recommendations to others considering Markup:** Using this app for work is really convenient because communication between co-workers becomes easier. I think it can be used for both - keeping information well-organized for yourself and sharing it with others. **What problems is Markup solving and how is that benefiting you?** With this app, work can be done a lot faster since you have all the information that you've saved under your fingertips without the necessity to use different apps for keeping notes. It's even easier than it sounds because the software enables you to sort information when you highlight the text (with different colors). Besides, it's convenient to share everything with co-workers or friends in the app because you can do it with a couple of clicks without a necessity to use another social network for sharing and collaborating. **What do you dislike about Markup?** The browser extension works well in general, but I don't like that if I turn it off on one website, it will be off on the other ones too. I think there should be little more advanced settings for the extension version so that it would be more convenient to use it since I like using it too, not just the app. **Recommendations to others considering Markup:** I recommend saving the text by changing the selecting tool's color, so that the information is sorted right away and you don't need to do it yourself later. I think it's a great tool and you would be surprised how much easier it makes the process of looking for something particular online since it enables you to save it really quickly. **What problems is Markup solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's convenient to sort work-related information from the personal stuff because I don't need to do it manually, just need to change the color of the highlighter and the text will be saved in a special section that you can later manage in the account. The tool makes it easier to look for information and save it quickly because you don't have to open any other apps or use anything else for texts than you want to save. ### 6. It's amazing that Markup application helps me with this. If I have to write an article on a topic, I study it myself and then type in the keywords in the Markup app. I can see various articles on people's blogs there. This helps me to expand my knowledge of the subject. Perhaps this is one of those things in the Markup that helps me a lot in my work. **What do you dislike about Markup?** For me personally, there are almost no shortcomings. However, there is one thing that sometimes annoys me. Every once in a while, it's hard to find the information I need in English. Sometimes the provided texts are given in Chinese or Japanese, and I have to scroll through these resources in the hope of finding something in English. Despite the fact that you can view most notes in Markup, you can miss a lot of features without it. And, of course, try using both the app the website version for full benefits. **What problems is Markup solving and how is that benefiting you?** With Markup I get different opinions and points of view on a single problem. All this helps me to see the most complete picture of what is happening and do my own full data analysis. In addition, I can write ready-made articles directly in Markup and highlight different colors. For example, if it's someone's quote, I use yellow, if it's my own conclusions - blue, if it's some other material - green. Later, thanks to this, it's easyto write and do research at the same time. ### 7. I mean that you can share all the resources with friends or even side users in order to discuss your points of views. Moreover, there is one more pretty much interesting thing. You can definitely find good resources in Markup application as there is a huge amount of fine and actual news there. So you can save some time finding information you need for your project or just for your development. **What do you dislike about Markup?** In fact, the most obvious drawback of this application is that it is sometimes quite difficult to structure all the necessary information. I mean that all the markups that I make can sometimes not be saved. The only thing you need to watch is that all your documents are uploaded to the Kdan Cloud. Then there will be no problems. **Recommendations to others considering Markup:** I would recommend you to read the instructions for using the application because you can use Markup qualitatively and one hundred percent only after you understand all the features. For example, I did not suspect that the application has a function for exchanging files between various users of this resource. Therefore, I had to download ready-made documents to my computer, and then re-upload them to my social networks. This is long and tedious. It is much easier to share the necessary information directly in Markup. **What problems is Markup solving and how is that benefiting you?** Using the Markup app I solve a number of problems. First of all, I don't need to use a huge amount of third-party material in order to structure information qualitatively. If some time before I bought a huge amount of notebooks to write down all I need, now the only one thing that I need is this application. Thus, I can qualitatively separate the text, highlight the main thoughts there with the help of underlining and using different types of fonts, as well as fills and backgrounds. This clearly helps me absorb the material faster and better. ### 8. Pretty much the only thing you need to do yourself is to choose what information you want to highlight, hit save and it will be stored in your account. You can edit the markups later, send information to friends and categorize it depending on what you want to do with it. I also like that the browser version works well, it comes in handy from time to time. **What do you dislike about Markup?** The app works fine, but the browser extension sometimes doesn't work that well. It's occasionally buggy, and you can't always highlight text on the web page. I guess it's due to certain website restrications, but in general it seems that the extension needs a bit of work still. **Recommendations to others considering Markup:** I'd suggest exploring the app more than the browser extension. The latter is not bad, but I mentioned the few issues that come with it. I like the non-standard ways of highlighting things. Another nice bonus is that you can not only add text, but also audio, video and photos as well. This expands the possibilities of what you can do. As a side bonus: you can read and comment on other people's articles, as well as watch the latest news. **What do you dislike about Markup?** Although it seems that registering on the site is pretty quick, it is not. You need a separate account with the Kdan developer, the registration process is quite long itself and does not always work out the first time. **Recommendations to others considering Markup:** I'd definitely take advantage of the 14 day free version.
