What do you like best about MarketMuse?

By far the best optimization tool out there. I love getting the range of recommendations - not just which keywords to use, but how often to use them. Combine that with the ability to compare with competitors on the fly, while writing, and it feels like magic.

The inventory tool is a game changer for finding which pieces are "low hanging fruit" or other easy wins for optimization.

I recently started using plans and I'm sorta loving them as a way to organize my projects and my thinking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MarketMuse?

The tool can do so much that the learning curve can be a bit high. I'm onboarding a large team and I'm not sure that everyone truly knows or feels confident with the platform. Thankfully, MarketMuse provides ample training/onboarding, but it can take a bit to learn. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fantastic content optimization tool. Keeps you ahead of the competition."
4/5
What do you like best about MarketMuse?

It saves a lot of time and helps to target what you need. Instead of spending a lot of time here and there, MarketMuse gives you on-point things. I use it a lot to refresh my old articles. All the pieces I had improved using the MarketMuse made a better appearance in search engines and achieved better impressions and rankings. Next, I am going to use these for my new SEO content. It would surely help me to gain an accurate start. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MarketMuse?

The editor does not save the articles. It doesn't have good keyword research - estimated keyword volume and related keywords are way off the mark. It would be much better if I could find these SEO insights on MarketMuse. For the current situation, I have to use other SEO software so that I can find relevant keywords, and with their volume or difficulty insight, I decide what to write. Response from Elizabeth Irvine of MarketMuse

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review! It’s important for us to receive feedback to help us improve.

Optimize doesn’t automatically save writing, but you can elect to save writing to your account. In the upper right corner there is a Save Writing or Save Inventory button. Hopefully, that helps!

Also, we just released some new features that hopefully address your concerns. You can now see keyword data as well as our topic model data. See more information in the documentation.

"MarketMuse has brought us valuable insights that improved our organic traffic"

What do you like best about MarketMuse?

The Create Brief and Optimize Brief tools are great for building article outlines and topic models for more complex topics. I love using Compete to find out what topics and semantic keywords our competitors are covering - it helps me write with more depth and breadth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MarketMuse?

Creating briefs can be frustrating sometimes because the Section Focus Topics that I enter don't always save after I leave the brief and come back to it. I also wish you could enter more than one new Section Focus Topic at a time once you've already created a brief. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about MarketMuse?

You get the exact keywords and FAQs required for your new content topics, which helps you get a higher rank on the search engine. This saves you lots of effort researching search engines and different tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MarketMuse?

Earlier, it was giving you most of the features for free now, they charge for all of their essential features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"My Go-To Content Optimization Tool"
5/5
What do you like best about MarketMuse?

MarketMuse is highly effective at optimizing content and helping my affiliate and local leadgen pages rank better on Google. I have subscriptions to multiple optimization tools which I regularly use. While there are many good tools out there, implementing the suggestions made by MarketMuse consistently provides me with the best results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MarketMuse?

The only slight knock I have on MarketMuse is the content editor. The formatting options and overall content editor experience could be improved a bit. That minor complaint doesn't prevent me from using MarketMuse daily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Really Cool Tool with Good Features"
4/5
What do you like best about MarketMuse?

I really like that marketmuse shows keywords to optimize a blog page. These are really handy. I also like that it shows other possible pages to link to on your site. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MarketMuse?

The biggest thing I dislike is to use the keyword optimizing tool you have to provide a link. I think this is silly because typically I am trying to update a page that does not exist yet and is not published so I have to put in a fake link and then replace the text. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Elizabeth Irvine of MarketMuse

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review! It's great to hear that it's helping you optimize your content. The good news is that you can use Optimize to create content that doesn't exist yet. You can search the topic without putting a URL in the search bar, and you will still get the data to inform your article. See some more information in this help documentation.

"Lots of Great Insights from an Easy to Use Tool"
4.5/5
What do you like best about MarketMuse?

Generous allowances on the free plan are great. The tool does a fine job putting together what you need to write a compelling post to rank on Google. Instructions are clear. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MarketMuse?

I have run diagnostics for my personal site (not for work) and found some of the insights confusing. I would also love the ability to delete/ignore certain words it serves as allegedly required for ranking on Google. No, MarketMuse, the "all rights reserved" is not a phrase I need to rank on. I could also use some guidance on what to put into headings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Indispensable content tool"
5/5
What do you like best about MarketMuse?

MarketMuse is a powerful tool for writing any content. I like most how it gives suggestions on how to rank your article higher than those of your competitors'. Also, their MarketMuse Academy provides excellent tutorials on using their products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MarketMuse?

There's not anything I dislike. If I must pick one, it's that there's no prompt (that I have seen) to save my work. Once, I accidentally closed the tab; when I logged back in, I found my article had been deleted. I now manually save my work at least once (it auto-saves afterward). It's more a user error than anything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
