It doesn't matter whether you are the client or the agency, the QA process is always painful. As an agency owner, we had not figured out how to do the QA process well until we found Marker. Adding it onto our websites was simple - and it automatically placed all new requests into the correct spot on each of our project management boards. We actually bring this process up during our sales discussions as a lot of our clients are used to manual QA processes where emails are passed back-and-forth. We let them know that the QA process will be as simple as pressing a button. With this tool, we save at least a day's worth of project management time on every project. Using it for one project per month ends up paying for itself multiple times over. Also, I have submitted a few tickets for new feature requests over the years and some of those have even been implemented. But because of Marker.io's superb and very comprehensive integration with JIRA, Shortcut and other project management software, we have been able to almost automate our entire review process. Crystal clear communication (via notifications) and the automated change of status, as web dev projects move through the line, have allowed us to do more... without WORKING more. ### 12. We managed to get it linked up within the hour with all of our websites. Then customised the user experience for our needs with great detail. The bug reporting workflow has become much more efficient. Allowing us to keep track of all bugs that need/ have been done. Another great feature that helped us is the automatic email that gets sent to the reporter when a bug gets completed. I know they have integration into fullstory which we loved but the price of the fullstory was above our price range. Additionally, the ability to deploy the widget across our sites and target different Github repositories based on URL structure has enabled us to reduce the total number of steps from bug report -> developer action. During testing of large scale projects, the widget's ability to reduce the volume of input required by remembering the last applied Github labels and appending screenshots to existing Github issues has increased team efficiency and reduced overall frustration -- very valuable when going through and testing the same project for days at a time. My internal testers have all the experience and technical knowledge to collect the information the engineers need regarding the bugs, but our beta testers don't. We used to do that on paper a lot, and that was even before 2020. Now, we can move faster, let clients really explain what they like and don't like. **What do you dislike about Marker.io?** We used to have to add our clients to our Marker.io account and make them install the whole thing, and that was kind of a pain. However, they changed that and now we have the widget open on all client websites and unlimited accounts for our clients, who no longer need to install anything. **Recommendations to others considering Marker.io:** Definitely install the widget if you work with clients. It is so much easier for them to submit their feedback without having to do anything except click the button. This means that finding a tool like Marker.io is a big part of it! Some startups I work with need to deliver a lot of tech in a short amount of time. Getting bugs resolved as fast ads possible is a huge part of that. It is incredible how well Marker.io connects to Jira, as well how the interface makes it a good tool for collaboration. It really increases the quality of bug reporting in my teams, and I love that. **What do you dislike about Marker.io?** I would prefer to add multiple screenshots to a single issue. Since the screenshot tool is the feature I use the most, I sometimes run into the need to add a series of screenshots that do not exist on the same page. **What problems is Marker.io solving and how is that benefiting you?** Marker.io allows us to do quality error reporting straight from end users, which is what we need to be able to fix bugs as fast as possible. We don't have time to waste time playing telephone through a long communication chain, and this is how we solve it. ### 29. We also use this tool for our internal reviews so that multiple team members can quickly take screenshots, annotations, etc. to help improve our overall design/development feedback loop efficiency. The integration into our Teamwork project management system has allowed us to quickly accept issues as tasks so that we can assign the issue to the appropriate person. The support has also been really great and fast to work with. We've been watching marker.io over the last few years and recently bought into their platform. Their product improvements have been excellent to see evolve over time. **What do you dislike about Marker.io?** The only downside we've ran into is more around the integration with Teamwork. We would love for this tool to close the feedback loop from teamwork, through marker.io, to the reporter. This would really allow us to allow for quicker follow-up messages through the system without having to open the marker.io issue in a new window to write a message. Ideally, we'd like to keep working in teamwork. **Recommendations to others considering Marker.io:** Reach out to their support if you have questions - they're quick to answer and pretty darn helpful! They're open (and seem to love) collect feedback so that they can help improve our working lives while simultaneously improving their product! **What problems is Marker.io solving and how is that benefiting you?** Collecting feedback with visual and textual components - such as screenshots with optional annotations and console logs for any javascript issues. ### 30. It takes a lot less long to put bugs and other issues in our correct Trello boards. We use it internally and it is a bug time saver for our reporters. We use it daily and that's why we needed something minimalist that would take seconds to use. Marker.io really delivers for us. **What do you dislike about Marker.io?** For mobile we needed to install the widget, because the extension does not work there. This was a slight hurdle that made it a little more difficult than we liked it to be, but everything is working now, so it is not really top of mind anymore and the widget turned out to be the even smoother integration later. **Recommendations to others considering Marker.io:** Keep an eye on the updates they release, because they ask customers of them what they want to determine the next feature or update. I like that, it means that usually they are really on top of what their users actually need. **What problems is Marker.io solving and how is that benefiting you?** More issues actually get reported thanks to Marker.io! It goes so fast that our internal teams has no reason not to do it. They see something, grab it and send it off without losing time. ### 31. Clients and colleagues can easily report issues or request amendments, with tasks created directly in our Project Management system. **What do you dislike about Marker.io?** Took a little bit of getting used to. We needed to make sure the correct level of access would be given to various people, and the incognito windows we set up didn't work properly. Logging in an out of various accounts for the initial set up was annoying, but great to see it work in action the way we anticipated. **What problems is Marker.io solving and how is that benefiting you?** Feedback generally came in the form of various emails. Now, we just wait for the email from a client to say they are done, and we can allocate and action the work appropriately without having to scroll through emails, work out which screen shot goes with which comment etc. ### 32. So, no more manual screenshots, editing, pulling into Jira, typing up all kinds of information... I wanted a quick to launch and use tool which gave his devs and designers all information they needed. And Marker.io delivers! **What do you dislike about Marker.io?** I wish there was a video option, because when testing flows there is sometimes something that only breaks after a certain series of actions. We can get a FullStory of course, but that is a little expensive for us. I hope they add that feature soon! **What problems is Marker.io solving and how is that benefiting you?** I find that it speeds up the creation of tickets and makes tickets more clear for de recipients. It is, in a way, an efficiency and time boosting tool! It is a very useful tool for my line of work. ### 33. They work so much faster now, and I waste a lot less time screenshotting and adding the console logs etc OR answering their emails with requests for more info because I forgot. A massive winwin on all fronts as far as we are concerned! **What do you dislike about Marker.io?** I needed help setting up our destinations, because I didn't quite get it. Luckily the customer service was really helpful and they jumped in a call with me to explain. Apparently they have now added instructional videos in the setup process, so I'm sure it is a lot more clear now! **Recommendations to others considering Marker.io:** Worth the investment and definitely worthwhile to set up "destinations" on their product to make the most of it. **What problems is Marker.io solving and how is that benefiting you?** As an agency, we need to deliver the best possible product as fast as possible, so whenever I or my clients see something in the website that is not according to their wishes, it needs to be resolved fast. ### 35. I do all reporting myself, so I really needed to move quickly. I have to put in a lot less effort to document something, and it gets to the technical team faster. They like it too, there are less long problems with any documentation. **What do you dislike about Marker.io?** I wish there were some other annotation features like a highlighter or a line with adjustable size. I want to be able to highlight sentences or block out things that need to go. **What problems is Marker.io solving and how is that benefiting you?** Mostly speed. As I do almost all of the testing myself, I have no time to waste. The sooner things are tested and on the desks of the devs, the sooner I can focus on other matters that need handling. They sometimes struggle learning new tools, but Marker.io is very intuitive to use. And of course how good the results are! Everyone can send anything in, and devs have all they need to get started. Absolute life saver when you work with a mixed team. **What do you dislike about Marker.io?** I would love it if there was a way to make fields required in the submission form. That way we would really get the perfect bug ticket every single time. **What problems is Marker.io solving and how is that benefiting you?** We used to do bug tracking in Excel, which is an absolute mess. They used to send in long emails but now we let them send it straight to the engineers. It just makes sense. I can spend more time on delivering the perfect result to clients, rather than patching up broken communication. So while engineers get complete tickets, it is really the clients that get the true value. Marker.io pays for itself. **What do you dislike about Marker.io?** What I wanted most was the ability to close issues in GitLab and automatically have them close in the guest portal too, but in their latest newsletter they announced this exact feature, so I'm very happy about that. **What problems is Marker.io solving and how is that benefiting you?** We can now collect client feedback in a sustainable way. We get it all, it gets sent to the right person, and it gets resolved. No more missing feedback and broken communication lines. ### 39.
