What do you like best about MariaDB?

Blazing (and crash resistant) speed with Aria, safe transactions with standard MySQL syntax. Stable, predictable, growing set of features that satisfies every DB storage need. The ability to deploy delayed replication with relative ease is a bonus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Clustering side of the software can be very tedious to set up, and we've instead gone with a Master-Slave-Slave setup to ensure integrity Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I find it confusing that some features only exist in MySQL vs MariaDB, as it makes the decision to use it difficult if you ever wish to migrate between the pieces of software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about MariaDB?

Great open source DB with plenty of documentation. We use MariaDB exclusively for all our web projects. It uses mainly standard SQL statements, is easy to install, configure, and is well supported in terms of security updates. The price is also great (ie, free!). What do you dislike about MariaDB?

There isn't much although if I had to say one thing it would for a better GUI interface to view/edit/delete data. MySQLAdmin could use an interface update, Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about MariaDB?

The commitment to open source model and th continued development of innovative features and integrations. The Galera synchronous cluster and Node.js MariaDB Connector are two recent ones that come to mind. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MariaDB?

I wish they would finish the Aria DB engines features to make it on par with the InnoDB engine. I wish they would incorporate either the MyDumper or mysqlpump parallel backup tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about MariaDB?

Since MariaDB is a fork of MySQL, the database structure and indexes of MariaDB are the same as MySQL. This allows you to switch from MySQL to MariaDB without having to alter your applications since the data and data structures will not need to change. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MariaDB?

To make sure MariaDB maintains drop-in compatibility, the MariaDB developers do a monthly merge of the MariaDB code with the MySQL code. Even with this, there are some differences between MariaDB and MySQL that could cause some minor compatibility issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about MariaDB?

I have been using maradb for over 5 years it hosts various websites and mail servers that I run. I really like how reliable it is. It is also very easy to use. I have used a lot of databases and i feel that this one is by far the most reliable. Install it setup your schema and away it goes! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MariaDB?

There really isn't much to not like, but if i had to be picky it would be connecting it to a mail server. If you are a newbie then you will really need to read into how to use the DB, although once you have done this once you won't forget it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
