Mangostin is an assessment and physical education (PE) management platform that helps teachers capture, organise, and analyse student performance data efficiently.
It belongs to the education technology (EdTech) and assessment management software categories, designed for schools, teachers, and department heads who need a structured digital way to record assessments, manage outdoor activities, and share feedback.
Mangostin is currently being developed in collaboration with PE educators in Singapore. The platform focuses on simplifying formative and summative assessment workflows so that teachers can record results, videos, and rubrics during lessons or school events, while automatically compiling data for progress reports and digital portfolios.
Typical users include PE teachers, Heads of Department (HODs), and school administrators who need to align student assessment with Ministry of Education formats, such as NAPFA testing. The software can be used in classroom, field, or event settings and supports both individual and team-based assessment.
Key features and functions include:
- Assessment capture tools: Record self, peer, and teacher assessments using metrics, rubrics, video evidence, and comments.
- Instant feedback and progress tracking: Generate insights on student growth over time and identify learning patterns.
- Digital NAPFA integration: Record and export student scores automatically in MOE Cockpit format, reducing manual data entry.
- Contactless run timing: Integrate with RFID cards or SportIdent devices to track 1.6 km and 2.4 km runs accurately.
- Department and event management: Plan sports events, record results, and maintain consistency across school teams and classes.
- AI-supported feedback generation: Produce objective feedback statements and summaries to support reflection and reporting.
Mangostin provides a unified system for managing assessment, feedback, and reporting, helping schools replace paper-based or spreadsheet processes with structured digital records. The platform is web-based and accessible on tablets, laptops, or mobile devices, making it suitable for both classroom and outdoor environments.
By centralising assessment and timing data, Mangostin allows teachers and departments to maintain consistent grading practices, monitor student progress longitudinally, and share learning outcomes efficiently with students and parents through digital portfolios.
