## About ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus
ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus is an enterprise patch management solution that helps organisations automate the complete patch lifecycle across Windows, macOS, Linux, and over 1,100 third-party applications. It enables IT teams to identify, test, approve, deploy, and monitor patches from a single, centralised console, helping reduce security risks, improve compliance, and simplify endpoint management. The solution continuously scans managed endpoints to detect missing security and non-security patches and provides administrators with complete visibility into patch status across the enterprise. With Automated Patch Deployment (APD), organisations can automate scanning, downloading, testing, approval, deployment, and reporting, reducing manual effort while ensuring systems remain up to date. Patch Manager Plus supports flexible deployment policies that allow administrators to configure maintenance windows, deployment schedules, reboot behaviour, retry settings, and user notifications. Patch testing and approval workflows help minimise deployment risks by allowing updates to be validated before production rollout, while patch rollback enables administrators to restore systems if compatibility issues occur. In addition to operating system updates, Patch Manager Plus automates patching for over 1,100 third-party applications, helping organisations close one of the most common security gaps without relying on multiple patching solutions. Comprehensive dashboards and reports provide real-time visibility into patch compliance, deployment status, vulnerable systems, and missing patches, enabling IT and security teams to measure compliance and prioritise remediation efforts. The solution also supports bandwidth-optimised patch distribution across remote offices and distributed environments, ensuring efficient deployments without overloading WAN links. Available as both a cloud-native and on-premises solution, Patch Manager Plus gives organisations the flexibility to choose the deployment model that best aligns with their operational and compliance requirements. ## ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus Reviews
  ### 1. Software is OK, but issues and poor support are very concerning.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus?**

It's easy to configure automated and manual patch tasks. I like being able to have better control over which patches I want installed, as Windows Update typically has you install everything aside from a few optional updates when patching. Given that I work for a large organization where we cannot restart servers during work hours, I apprecaite that the software has the capability for admins to schedule restarts.

**What do you dislike about ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus?**

The support team -- most times I contact them, I feel like I'm asked to provide irrelevant information, even when I provide specifics that should point to very specific systems/areas where their support engineers should be checking. It has taken nearly 2-4 weeks for every case I've opened with them to finally get resolved or they try to point to other software applications or services claiming they are the likely cause of issues until you can provide them evidence otherwise. I have had to escalate nearly every case I've opened because otherwise I'd be asked to keep providing irrelevant information and my case would take even longer to be looked at by engineers.

We've also recently started encountering issues with the software itself -- most recently, we began using the scheduled shutdowns functionality had had a problem with two scheduled reboot tasks set to run on the 3rd and 4th weeks every month. While it ran as expected for the first month, for some reason, the system decided to run both tasks the FIRST week of the following month without any visible reason/cause -- the schedule still showed the tasks as monthly tasks falling on the correct weeks, but also showed that it ran the task the first week of the month (this was also confirmed due to some end user reports that servers/services were down). This is very concerning because we obviously cannot trust a product that decides to take action we haven't scheduled it to perform -- we currently have an active support case open with them on this issue and at least two of their support agents so far have already checked and confirmed we have everything configured correctly. Beyond this, since using this software to patch servers, we've also found that we're experiencing unplanned reboots/shutdowns on servers managed by the software that we weren't experiencing the same problems prior, so we've actually paused use of the software across our organization until we receive a cause and fix for at least the issue with scheduled reboot tasks being run on weeks they're not supposed to.

**What problems is ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows for better control when deciding which patches to deploy to which servers. I know this solves problems for us because we have several web servers where we don't want to update Java or other applications/services and prior to Patch Manager Plus, we weren't always able to choose which updates we wanted to install in Windows Updates.

  ### 2. Pacth Manager

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus?**

Easy-to-use interface and simple policy creation

**What do you dislike about ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus?**

We had instabilities with the agents and the lack of installation of user-wide patches

**What problems is ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Update of some critical patches

  ### 3. It does what is needs to, and nothing more

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus?**

Easy to setup (we use the cloud version with a on prem distribution server), setting up deploys is basic. Approving patches is simple
The documentation is excellent
the interface is user friendly
having the ability to hide patching from users is a plus

**What do you dislike about ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus?**

Support can be an issue if you want more than a link to support documentation (even if the issue is unrelated). It is very hit or miss if it will allow you to deploy a feature pack ie 1903. Normally errors out saying the patch does not exist

**Recommendations to others considering ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus:**

If you want a basic patch solution, that has more control than WSUS, then this is a great product. It does a better than average job

**What problems is ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Windows patching, replacing the WSUS server. Allows us to have a more granular approach to patching

**Official Response from Zoho Corporation:**

> Hello!

I'll definitely pass your feedback to the support team and ensure you've better experience in the future. Also, I'll need more details to look into why Windows 1903 feature pack failed in your case.
