We use ManageEngine ADManager Plus to automate all operations that involve Active Directory within our environment. We use it from the very beginning in our onboarding process. It is simple to set up different types of profiles for different types of employees. ADManager Plus automatically configures everything from their display name, email configuration, group lists, and licensing. What do you dislike about ManageEngine ADManager Plus? The program itself is somewhat clunky. It doesn't have as modern a feel as some other programs. What problems is ManageEngine ADManager Plus solving and how is that benefiting you? We decided to use ManageEngine ADManager Plus due to the compatibility it had with our systems. We run a hybrid environment and ManageEngine ADManager Plus was the system that fit into our infrastructure the best. It speeds up our new hire processes so we can focus on other aspect of onboarding. Upgrade processing are straight forward and simple. What problems is ManageEngine ADManager Plus solving and how is that benefiting you? Mostly time sinks setting up various groups and configuration for a user setup. Time it take to track down log in failures. With the password expiration features it not only helps cut down on users forgetting to change their password but when it does happen I have an easy to discover if its a password issues. Prices remain somewhat consistent so I do not have to wheel and deal or move to another product due to but constraints because the price went up. While it may not be recommended I found I can run a couple of the products on a single server reducing the compute footprint and I don't lose on how well the product performs by doing so. The interface has really improved and modernized over the year. It integrates perfectly with Active Directory and can do just about anything you can imagine. It's speedy, too—large tasks don't take long at all. I've used this product for many, many years (over a decade) and have rarely needed support, but on the rare occasion I have reached out for assistance, they've been helpful. The price is fantastic for what you get. It can seem like a one-trick pony at first, but the more you use it the more you realize what else you can do with it. ADManager Plus is chockful of tools that you'd think Microsoft would include out of the box, but after 25+ years of Active Directory, it's clear they have no interest in doing so. ADManager Plus fills all the gaps that Microsoft left. Simple mass imports with automatic OU assignments, mass changes to existing accounts, etc. Some of this can be done through PowerShell, sure, but this makes it easy. The ease of initial setup and the reports that can be generated from it are what drove me to want to use it initially. It has so many features that can be used and the setup can be very complex if you really want to dive in, but the nice thing is that it can be done over time. The initial setup to get it reporting and allowing you to make changes from it are very easy and quick. I have had very few issues with it and when I did have to reach out to support, they were very helpful. Quick to respond and answered all my questions. One of the best features of this product is the cost. I would say the only issue I have with any of the products is the amount of RAM that it takes to run the applications, but at least before, that was cheap. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about ManageEngine ADManager Plus? The only real downside i have found with it is the amount of system resources it takes to run. It gives a central location for monitoring Active Directroy as well as allows me certain key reports that i need to pull monthly for SOX reporting. I appreciate the reporting feature in ManageEngine ADManager Plus. With just a click, I can get reports that would take days with other tools, and ADManager gets it done in minutes. It's incredibly time-saving when I need to find out how many licensed users we have. I know they have another product for it called M365 plus, but if they can bring some of the audits to it, it will be great. Also, through templates, it can improve human errors. The GUI makes it easier for techs with less experience to manage AD, as well as HR employees. That takes a significant burden away from IT. However, once it is configured, it makes processes hands off which is nice. The support teams will always answer questions about the software quickly to resolve. We use some of the automation features that automates an entire workflow, such as onboarding new users, as well as integrating our HR system UKG into Active Directory and importing value from UKG.
