**What do you like best about MakeShift?**

By adding shift requirements, MakeShift makes it easy to schedule employees without over/understaffing or forgetting shifts entirely. The mobile app is a favorite among staff - it's incredibly user-friendly; staff can easily see their schedules, adjust their availability, and drop/exchange shifts.

**What do you dislike about MakeShift?**

MakeShift's mobile app push notifications are lacking. While employees are immediately notified a published shift has been assigned to or removed from their schedule, they are not notified when a shift has been put up for exchange or drop. Adding this functionality would make MakeShift top-tier.

**What problems is MakeShift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**What do you like best about MakeShift?**

Employees find it easy to use. They can submit their availability and then edit as needed. Shift swapping for staff is also great so they can work everything out on their end and the manager only needs to approve. The makeshift live app is very handy as staff will switch shifts at all hours of the day and managers will not need to be at a computer to approve. I really like that when an employee requests an open shift or to pick up a shift it will show what their total hours will be if they pick it up.

**What do you dislike about MakeShift?**

I wish we could edit open shifts instead of deleting them and having to make a whole new one.

**What problems is MakeShift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of building schedules, employees availability, employees switching shifts, and employees picking up shifts.

The app is very straightforward and allows me to keep track of everything, do shift trades simply and book days off.

**What do you dislike about MakeShift?**

Sometimes pre scheduling and publishing the tools glitch and publish too far in advance.

**What problems is MakeShift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For a large team of outreach workers (6 teams) it is easy to see everyone's availability and stratify people into their staffing groups.

The programs automation with ADP, basically ease of integration.

Because this is the first time I've used MakeShift I have nothing to compare it to.

The employee interface is great! It's easy to see your schedule.

The adding of shifts is quite tedious. It would be great if you could bulk add shifts. It would also be nice if you could export all departments at once into a pdf instead of individual shifts.

Managing 50 schedules is great!

I love that I can add my own shifts and add and remove workers at my own convienence. There is also a feature where we can access multiple properties which is also beneficial!

**What do you dislike about MakeShift?**

There is nothing I do not like about MakeShift.

**What problems is MakeShift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is difficult to keep school schedules organized with multiple workers. This helps us keep it organized. I also like how we can copy schedules for a week and add them to another week! It comes in handy when we have students with the same schedules! Time saver!

Scheduling shifts is made easy - having different schedules with different employees is sometimes difficult to sort through, however MakeShift makes this effortless.

Sometimes company notifications do not go through, despite having notifications turned on.

Makeshift is easy to navigate. I like the announcement function and the ability to post shifts for pick-up. I also like that you can receive notifications on your phone.

**What do you dislike about MakeShift?**

I wish there was an option to colour-code shifts. We also share staff amongst different sites, so I wish there was a function for staff to be able to trade shifts across sites.

No need to create schedule spreadsheets or rotations by hand- I am able to do this all in Makeshift.

The shift exchanging options, time off requests are easy to do.

It is too touchy to use on my ipad. An app for the ipad that you can use without accidentally moving peoples schedules around from barely touching it would be nice. I get notifications for everyone in the company, not just my programs.

The easist way to create and maintain schedules.  Implementation was 100% customer service.  The intergration with ADP Workforce now is perfect and fit the organization and managers needs.

None which are found at this time.  We had an email change which had a few errors, but minimal.

Tracking the employees in different locations.  It allows them to see which supervisors they are working with and which location along with their tiers.

Makeshift is a great scheduling platform. It makes scheduling multiple work sites simple, and its user friendly. Super easy to set rotations for set scheduled staff.

**What do you dislike about MakeShift?**

I would love to be able to post a rotation as an available shift for a period of time rather than having to post each available shift individually. I wish the admin app was a little more user friendly, but the website version is great.

Makeshift makes it easy to schedule employees and full staff our work sites. Its also great to be able reference mutiple work locations at once to see what staff is where and where we need help.

What I like about makeshift is that it is very computer friendly. It is easy to teach employees and also easy to navigate through.

Sometimes when you connect when having to use ADP there sometimes technical difficulties, I recommend just using email address and making a password

Simplifies our scheduling and payroll processes to some degree

Unable to view schedules of all subsiduary Departments or what we call "locations".
Request for monthly user list report denied and/or unanswered
Request for customer support did not fall within 1-2 business day guidelines for follow-up
Implementation appointment requests and scheduling  them were not followed up in a timely manner resulting in missed or mis-communicated appointments.

Its so easy to use, i like how as soon as the schedule is published it sends out a notification for those with the notifications turned on. The copy last weeks schedule function is amazing! Being able to automatically import your employees through adp and not have to manually type in all their information. Everything about makeshift is just very user friendly and i enjoy using it!

**What do you dislike about MakeShift?**

One thing i dislike about makeshift is the scheduling portion on my screen on the desktop is really small and i would rather it be bigger even if it removes acess to the side tabs while on that screen!

I like that MakeShift talks to our HRIS and vice versa. Our operations team uses MakeShift on a daily basis. It is easy to get a hold of our customer support.

I don't find anything to dislike about MakeShift so far.

Utilizing MakeShift as our scheduling partner, gives other managers outside of that dept the ability to view the schedules for all employees. It also gives the employees ease of access.

I enjoy the smooth interface which allows me to resolve any time punch issues quickly and efficiently.

**What do you dislike about MakeShift?**

As a manager, I am unable to view Makeshift as an employee. As a result, explaining how to use it early on in my career was difficult.

It allows my employees to easily request time off without red tape or paperwork. This allows everyone to get a fair chance of getting their request approved in a timely manner.

Makeshift is helpful in that whenever shifts are posted, I immediately get a notificaion. It is very easy to pick up shifts as well, the buttons are user-friendly for everyone.

**What do you dislike about MakeShift?**

The only downside I've had with Makeshift include not initially being an "admin." Because of this, I was not able to update or change the schedule when there were sick calls for a shift.

It is helping me solve my plan and schedule for the day as a nurse. If I know ahead of time that there are openings in the schedule, I can better prepare myself for the shift and have a smoother work flow.

**What do you like best about MakeShift?**

It's easy to set work schedules and change them as needed and to add employee's as needed. I can make different time availabilities and set each person's availability for longer periods of time(date wise) easily. I also like that you are able to put notes with the shift if needed for clarification. I can easily use the web on my phone to log in and make adjustments if I happen to not be home to do so. The fact that if anyone needs changes made I can get notified so I know to look at it and make the appropriate adjustments.

It could be easier to use on the phone when necessary. Sometimes it's difficult to move the shifts when using my phone for the site to make a quick adjustment. Although, it may be made to only be used on a computer which can be understandable. Other than that I have no complaints, it's very easy to use and learn.

Helps when employee's need shift changes and knowing who are my main location employee's versus hybrid employee's.

**What do you like best about MakeShift?**

Makeshift is solid and performs well to provide everyday basic use of scheduling software. The apps, both from an employee and manager are very well done and user friendly. The messaging out to the team is simple to use and effective for instant communication. Setting up new locations is fairly easy to be able to customize according to needs.

**What do you dislike about MakeShift?**

The issues revolve around a too simplistic integration with HRIS system. In our case, its ADP Workforce Now. The only feature that functions reasonably well (though its not amazing), is the employee sync whereby users can be automatically added with their contact information from ADP into Makeshift. 

One of the significant challenges, though,  is that Makeshift and ADP  simply cannot be reliably used to help with timeclock restrictions in a live immediate capacity. Meaning that Makeshift schedules don't automatically update ADP timeclocks to effectively put in restrictions on when employees can or can not clock in. The system requires constant manual updates to facilitate that functionality, which doesn't serve businesses like restaurants who have daily and hourly schedule updates. 

Timeclock integration is a feature that we  feel is critical to helping businesses achieve efficiency and oversight. This aspect of the product in its integration with ADP, does not support the needs of our business and we feel there is a big missing element to achieve better labor oversight and efficiency with a large hourly workforce.

Automated schedules with employees, simplistic shift changes, and communication between management and employees.

The convenience of being able to schedule/change shifts on the fly (from my phone). I also like that I can recieve notifications when staff have not punched in or have punched in late!

Makeshift is easy to learn and keeps everyone up to date about what is happening. It makes for less miscommunications regarding the schedule.

**What do you dislike about MakeShift?**

Makeshift could benefit from an easier way to put almost like a "sticky note" on a shift to write things like rationale for putting a staff member in a different location than usual. We have a few people with access to our makeshift and it makes it difficult to know if someone else changed something. Also when assigning a shift from a location perspective, it would be helpful to be able to just start typing the staff members name instead of having to scroll through a giant list. Also, it would be helpful to be able to input reoccuring shifts/days off etc. the same way you can in Google calendar. For instance, I have a staff memeber that is off every Wednesday. Rather than going and putting in every single Weds invidually, it would be helpful to put it in once and then have an option like "repeats every week" or something like that.

Makeshift solves a lot of miscommunication and makes it super easy for staff to see when and where they are scheduled.

The concept of having everyone in my library know where I am at all times. I have a variety of places I can be at during work hours, so making sure everyone knows how to locate me is very helpful.

**What do you dislike about MakeShift?**

How hard it is to create blocks of time and edit. I also do not like that all the blocks are the same color. It would be helpful to seperate the blocks on color. I would love to assign meetings in one color and desk hours in another so it can be even more helpful to everyone visually.

**What problems is MakeShift solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having a centralized location where everyone in the building can see the locations of every staff member. We have many departments and we never knew where anyone outside our department was in or out.

It is user friendly . Makeshift makes it easy to see where people need to be put and their availability. I do use it nearly every week. It was easy to learn to maneuver through.

If there was a way to get notifications on the makeshiftlive for any changes on makeshift. Color coding options. If there was a way if a staff is putting in their availbility and leaving a note for a different timeframe then what is posted and being able to add that instead of changing the time once on the website as you cant see that in the admins app
