Major Donor Ask Calculator is a web-based tool that dramatically improves the methodology and reliability of determining how much to Ask major donors for gifts and for planning fundraising campaigns. It helps nonprofit fundraisers make sense of the morass of research they have on their prospective major donor’s wealth and capacity to give. It is easy to use and provides fundraisers with a structured, reliable way to determine an Ask amount that is aspirational yet respectful to donors. Major Donor Ask Calculator is intuitive and easy to use. The user inputs donor data via a 9-step Smart Wizard that guides and advises on how to complete each field. After submitting the inputs for calculation via the proprietary algorithm, a Results page is presented. A Readiness Score helps fundraisers understand if they have sufficient donor information for a successful gift conversation. The Calculator provides a 3-year Pledge Ask amount that is aspirational yet respectful to donors. The Calculator provides a 3-year expected Pledge Goal amount that fundraising teams can rely on for planning campaigns and assessing their major donor pipeline. Tips and guidance for making the Ask request and closing the gift are provided, including whether or not to Ask the donor for an Estate Gift. A robust library of donor calculation profiles provides a variety of analytics to track, update pledge results and assess success, as well as aggregate multiple user results for planning purposes.
