New pricing model ignores low-frequency senders, and Legacy is getting buggy **Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** John J. | Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2026 **What do you like best about MailerLite?** Legacy (Classic) MailerLite has been a solid, affordable fit for us for years. Pricing was based on subscribers we actually emailed in a 30-day window, which made sense for a business like ours that sends maybe 1 or 2 campaigns a year (Black Friday, annual update). The editor is simple, deliverability has been fine, and the SSO between apps is convenient. **What do you dislike about MailerLite?** Two issues. First, the new MailerLite pricing model bills on stored active subscribers, not on who you send to. For infrequent senders, that's a hidden price hike. We'd pay the same as someone sending daily. A loyalty discount doesn't fix a fundamentally mismatched billing model for seasonal or low-volume customers. Second, Legacy itself is showing signs of neglect. Today the subscribers view wouldn't load: the UI said "This list contains 7 Subscribers" but the table just spun indefinitely. Combined with the non-dismissible "Level up" banner pushing migration, it feels like the classic product is being left to rot to force the move. Support was also frustrating. The AI bot (LiteBot) looped the same pricing answer multiple times before a human stepped in, and there was no clear path to escalate product feedback. **What problems is MailerLite solving and how is that benefiting you?** Basic email marketing and list management for a small customer base. We don't need automations or high send volumes, just a reliable way to send occasional updates. ### 2. Uncertain for Affiliate Marketing, Bot Support, and Still impossible to Change a Subscriber's Email **Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Britt M. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2022 **What do you like best about MailerLite?** I love that you can filter/segment subscribers based on their statistics: number of clicks, open rates, etc. **What do you dislike about MailerLite?** Their rules about affiliate marketing is still not clear enough to convince my friend to join. She didn't want to see her account banned and I couldn't get a confirmation from my usual contact about this topic. After I renewed and paid for my second year, they changed their support system. It had previously been their #1 strength: superfast, nice, and polite support. Now you get a bot. And you get to argue with the bot, because it's stupid. Artificial Stupidity. It takes an effort to get hold of a real person that can help. Despite what they promised, it's still not possible to change a subscriber's email address. I use MailerLite less and less and my other autoresponder more. I wish MailerLite will make it possible to send clean txt messages (not rich text) because they have higher deliverability. I also think they look nicer, but that's because I always send out private emails in clean text format. **What problems is MailerLite solving and how is that benefiting you?** I now manage to send emails to my subscribers and they reach them. I've had almost no bouncing emails and when I test an email at mail-tester.com they score 10/10. ### 5. And if you do something wrong, your domain will somehow be blacklisted (of some kind), and you cannot sign up or get any explanation. Mailerlite makes it hassle-free. ### 7. I was able to create a very attractive pop up within a matter of minutes. I was also able to easily import my contacts quickly. **What do you dislike about MailerLite?** Mailerlite is not as easy to get going as other solutions. You have to go through an approval process before you can send any emails. The built in templates leave much to be desired. **What problems is MailerLite solving and how is that benefiting you?** MaileLite allows me to keep in contact with my customers. Specifically. The pricing pkans are also quite reasonable. **What do you dislike about MailerLite?** I overall think the software could be more robust. I wouldn't recommend Mailerlite for email marketers with massive mailing lists or more advanced needs as there is other software out there that is more powerful. **What problems is MailerLite solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is making it easier to capture emails and connect with those on your mailing list. Customer service is not attentive, we have to wait more than 2-3 hours for someone to respond in the chat. Mailerlite doesn't do that. The free account gives you access to powerful features that are not available with rivals. The pricing structure is the best. **What do you dislike about MailerLite?** I wish there were more sources of design features, etc. So far it has not been possible to copy the type of campaign, nothing has been a problem, they have great support such that when you copy a previous campaign you sent, you cannot change the way you sent it, auto-forwarding or A/B split. **Recommendations to others considering MailerLite:** But Mailerlite is continuously improving and adding things. If you need an email service without at least having your website set up, this will not be suitable for you. It is the preferred platform that I encourage my students to use. But even a basic website will meet your requirements. **What problems is MailerLite solving and how is that benefiting you?** Send an email to my subscriber base at low cost. Automatic forwarding of email messages for people who missed the first one. In general, it is a very easy-to-use and very simple product that does not require much more time for learning and understanding some complex things. That made it easier to make a decent looking email. Other than that, there wasn't a lot that I liked about Mailerlite. Our company used it for the price. It was a decent program, very similar to Mailchimp in some ways, and is finally moving in the right direction. **What do you dislike about MailerLite?** It's clunky at times, doesn't save at times, and the analytics are terrible. The fact that unsubscribes are counted in the clickrate is awful to me - especially when I'm supposed to be reporting the clickrate as a positive to my boss. What if they're all unsubscribes? He thinks that campaign went well. Their new widget for getting new subscriptions didn't work for quite some time, which was very sad. Management of our email lists wasn't great. Neither was creating a new email - for some reason Mailerlite never saved our social media links, so each email we'd have to input them again at the bottom (or we'd have to copy a previously sent email and change every other aspect except the links). **Recommendations to others considering MailerLite:** With the update, Mailerlite is improving greatly. However, it still has a long way to go. Stick with Mailchimp or Emma for now. **What problems is MailerLite solving and how is that benefiting you?** We used Mailerlite to keep in touch with our customers. The upside is that I can search for users with the same domain (to make sure we're not emailing 10 people at the same company), but it isn't a very smart program. Importing emails was hit or miss. Luckily, their update came at the perfect time.
