## Magnet Forensics Reviews
  ### 1. Powerful, intuitive, and time-saving forensics solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Krystian Z. | Biegł sądowy z zakresu informatyki i telekomunikacji, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Magnet Forensics?**

How well it integrates computer, phone, and cloud evidence into a single case with powerful artifact recovery and analysis tools. The timeline and Connections features are fantastic for quickly uncovering key insights. Super intuitive interface too!

**What do you dislike about Magnet Forensics?**

Processing times can be long when dealing with massive cases (several terabytes). Everything else works really well for me.

**What problems is Magnet Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It eliminates the need for multiple fragmented tools by combining computer, mobile, and cloud forensics into one powerful platform. It also solves the problem of too much raw data by automatically extracting and organizing meaningful artifacts with excellent timeline and relationship views.
I complete investigations faster, find critical evidence more easily, and deliver higher-quality reports with less manual effort. It’s a real time-saver and makes my job noticeably easier.

  ### 2. Intuitive and Effective, Training Costs a Concern

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Linda C. | Police Detective, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Magnet Forensics?**

I love the ease of the product to use and the ability to contact staff quickly. The product is easy to use and the training courses offered by Magnet Forensics are thorough. When I need customer service or have any questions, it is easy to contact a Magnet Forensics employee and get an answer quickly. Staff is open to new ideas and customizing a workflow for our specific lab. The initial setup was fairly easy.

**What do you dislike about Magnet Forensics?**

The training is expensive and sometimes out of budget, which impacts our ability to use each product to its full advantage. Without adequate training, we're not able to fully utilize the software. It would be beneficial if Magnet released short monthly videos to help keep up with updates.

**What problems is Magnet Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Magnet Forensics unlocks phones and processes iPhones, crucial for solving cases. Accessing data from unlocked phones is key for detectives.

**Official Response from Rick Andrade:**

> Hi Linda,

Thank you for taking the time to share this thoughtful and balanced feedback. We’re glad to hear that our tools, training depth, and support team have been effective in helping your lab do important work.

We understand that training costs can be a concern, particularly for smaller agencies with limited budgets. This is an area we’ve spent considerable time evaluating, both internally and against the broader digital forensics training market. As part of that effort, we have closely reviewed how our training is packaged and priced relative to comparable forensic training providers, ensuring our pricing aligns with the depth, hands-on nature, and real‑world applicability of the instruction we deliver.

To help address budget constraints while maximizing long-term value, we offer flexible options designed specifically to reduce per-course cost:

Training Annual Pass ($7,999) – This option provides the greatest overall value by allowing an individual to attend multiple courses over the year for a single, predictable cost. For agencies using several Magnet products or looking to stay current with evolving forensic techniques, the annual pass significantly lowers the cost per course while supporting continuous skill development. Price per course averages  to $471 per course on the Training Annual Pass.

Five-Course Bundles ($6,999) – Our course bundles are designed for teams or individuals who want structured skill progression at a reduced rate compared to purchasing courses individually. These bundles provide a meaningful cost savings while ensuring investigators receive comprehensive coverage across key forensic workflows. Course bundles average out to $1,400 per course. Price per course averages  to $1,400 per course on a five course bundle.

In addition, we continue to expand complementary learning resources—including shorter update-focused content and evolving self-paced materials—to help customers stay current between formal classes and get the most value from their software investment.

Our goal is to ensure training remains accessible, impactful, and aligned with the realities of law enforcement budgets—while still delivering the depth and quality required to fully utilize Magnet Forensics solutions in real investigations. We truly appreciate feedback like this, as it helps guide how we continue to evolve our training offerings.

  ### 3. Up-to-Date Forensics with Magnet

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marcus L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Magnet Forensics?**

I primarily use Magnet Forensics for ICAC cases and it allows me to quickly identify relevant images as well as parse through non-relevant ones. Magnet stays up to date with current Android and iOS, which is extremely important and helpful. Most suspects keep their phones updated with automatic updates on, so when we have to work on a phone, it's helpful that we don't have to wait long for an update from Magnet. The initial setup of Magnet Forensics was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Magnet Forensics?**

User interface for some of the reports we hand to the investigator who don’t have experience with Magnet products they prefer the interface of Cellebrite Reader.

**What problems is Magnet Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I’m able to quickly identify relevant images and sort through non-relevant ones. It's always updated with the latest Android and iOS, which helps when suspects have updated phones, making it efficient for my ICAC cases.

**Official Response from Rick Andrade:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Magnet Forensics, especially in relation to ICAC cases. We understand the importance of user-friendly interfaces for investigators and will continue to work on enhancing the report presentation for non-experienced users.

  ### 4. Efficient Digital Forensics, Needs Better Phone Imaging

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeremy M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Magnet Forensics?**

I like Magnet Forensics for its ease of use and wide platform capability. It's great that it can ingest many types of media. I also appreciate the graphical user interface (GUI) and the training program they provide. These aspects are proficient, make the most use of time, and are fiscally saving because it's a quality tool. The initial setup was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Magnet Forensics?**

I don't like that Magnet Acquire does not image cellphones very well. It would be better if there was a tool that doesn't rely on Windows drivers, or that the person using the tool doesn't have to go find and download them.

**What problems is Magnet Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Magnet Forensics for its ability to quickly process images and return results. It's easy to use, supports many media types, and saves time and costs with its proficiency.

  ### 5. Intuitive Artifact Parsing That Streamlines Our Caseload

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Defense & Space | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Magnet Forensics?**

Using magnet Axiom has allowed us to more efficiently process our caseload. The way the artifacts are parsed and presented makes it much more intuitive to find exactly what we are looking for compared to some other tools that we had used before.

**What do you dislike about Magnet Forensics?**

One downside I have counted so far is that with Axiom Cyber the acquisition and processing happen in one step rather than allowing for the option to acquire and then process separately. In our environment we will acquire on the network, but we do our processing on standalone machines.

**What problems is Magnet Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Axiom, the ability to create a portable case has been a game changer for our particular organization. It allows us to have other Personnel looking at the case information while our examiners are digging deeper into the artifacts.

  ### 6. User-Friendly Yet Powerful Digital Forensics Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Enforcement | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Magnet Forensics?**

I really find the integrations in Magnet Forensics, specifically Magnet Axiom, to be helpful when working on cases like CCM and child exploitation. These integrations make reviewing data easier and less strenuous on my mental health because I don't have to manually review images and media as thoroughly, thanks to features like the Thorne integration, which classifies material and matches known hash values. I also appreciate the ability to blur media, which allows me to minimize unnecessary exposure to sensitive content. Furthermore, the overall user-friendliness of Magnet Forensics stands out, making tasks more straightforward and setup extremely easy. In comparison to other tools, viewing media is much easier with Magnet Forensics, which is a significant plus.

**What do you dislike about Magnet Forensics?**

I had noticed that Cellebrite's geolocations are sometimes better than Magnet Axiom.

**What problems is Magnet Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Magnet Forensics to prove who committed criminal offenses, review social media and computer artifacts, and handle child exploitation cases with integrations that classify material and match hash values, reducing my exposure to distressing content.

The acquisition of GrayKey and its full integration into the Magnet Ecosystem has made Magnet my go to source for extractions.

**What do you dislike about Magnet Forensics?**

Resource management. Magnet seems to pull 100% of allocated resources despite not necessarily needing to.

**What problems is Magnet Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Magnet Forensics is solving the all-in-one approach to digital evidence. No matter what type of investigations you are running, Magnet has figured out a way to seemlessly incorporate that into their software.

  ### 47. Great software / Funky Usability / Weird Tech Support

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wayne N. | Principal Scientist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Magnet Forensics?**

When you finally get the device imaged, the analytics are pretty good

**What do you dislike about Magnet Forensics?**

The UIs generally are poorly designed, almost as though they were afterthoughts. And the terminology is quirky.

For example, clicking multiple items in a list doesn't SELECT them... it QUEUES them. When you try to CLEAR SELECTIONS, they don't CLEAR, because despite what it looks like, they weren't SELECTED... they were QUEUED. (De-queuing, say, all 66,000 of them is an incredibly complex process.)

Chat support engineers must have the world's worst UI, and they have my sympathy. The product-specific robot asks for my problem, I enter it, the support engineer asks for it again, then asks what product. Seriously?

First-line support never has an answer. Period. They always have to check. Don't they have a knowledge base like everyone else?

I'm trying to image an android phone. Zero success. Second level tech support asks me why I want to do it instead of telling me the hidden secret. SERIOUSLY???

**What problems is Magnet Forensics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need to image cell phones for defense, attorneys and private investigators. Also occasionally for plaintiff attorneys.
