The Macrium Tools from Site Backup to Technicians USB and Reflect X are all excellent tools and have gotten me out of trouble so many times. Site Manager is also brilliant for keeping an eye on all your Sites in one place. Customer Support is amazing and anytime i've had any issues they have gone above and beyond to help me correct it. Macrium is one of the few software companies I've dealt with that has a consistently prominent level of stability and quality in their products. What problems is Macrium Backup & Restore solving and how is that benefiting you? I make what could be called "OS image layers" of my desktop. I install the OS, patch it then image the disk. Next, I customize the OS then image the disk. Then, I install a major app (Office for example) then I image the disk. You see my pattern here. This way, if Office were to cause a major failure, going back to a previous image is painless. I'm attaching a KB article on our "Image Guardian", which I would summarise as a tool that ensures that your Macrium backups can only be modified by Macrium. If another file, process, or application tries to modify your backup, the Image Guardian rejects the attempt and preserves your backup. Some times broken restore process resulted in BitLocker turned off. Using Windows Boot Menu as rescue media seems unsecure, because anyone can access BitLocker unlocked files. Then saved it (imaging C: drive) and use my notebook. Frequently (cca. monthly) restore from backup, make updates and config changes and save it again.
