Our legal and compliance team adopted M-Files to manage contracts, NDAs, case files and compliance checklists. Previously, we stored these document in multiple shared drive which was not ideal for confidentiality. What I like best in this case was the robust metadata based organization and automated contract lifecycle management. I created custom metadata fields for contract type, parties involved and automated contract life cycle management. This allows us to track contract renewal and never miss critical dates. A major challenge was the initial import and classification of legacy legal files, especially older scanned documents that lacked searchable metadata.
