It is certified for various safety standards like DO-178C. It provides real time capabilities which allow tasks to be scheduled and executed with specific timing. Middleware and connectivity. Multi-core support. **What do you dislike about LynxOS®-178 RTOS?** Complexity for developing and configuring software for safety system. Cost is high. It has higher Resource overhead compared to lightweight OS. Vendor lock-In is required due to safety system. Customization challanges. As it has multithreading functionality and a scheduling algorithm. It also has functionality for microprocessor and microcontroller which help any application running on it to process thread real-time without any fail. On the other hand, if we compare it with other linux based systems it's faster and more secure. **What do you dislike about LynxOS®-178 RTOS?** Nothing as such works great for our application. The only one we face is it has low cache and flash memory area which causes us to use a significant amount of if we compare it with other operating RTOS. **What problems is LynxOS®-178 RTOS solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use it on our standby systems it helps us to reduce time, cost and license/certificate effort as it shipped with a reusable certificate. As we know it's a real-time Operating System it comes with memory scheduling algorithms and real-time processing of threads. **What do you dislike about LynxOS®-178 RTOS?** none as such but there are a few we have to keep in mind before implementing. It has a low cache and buffers memory if we are going to use it in production we need more amount of memory as compared to other OS which is available in the market. **What problems is LynxOS®-178 RTOS solving and how is that benefiting you?** Previously we are using other real-time OS for our application we are facing issues like sometimes application crashes, and sometimes we are facing issues like the system not responding due to which our production gets hampered and we are losing customers. But after that, we switch to LynxOS-178 RTOS which overcomes our problems like application crashes because it comes with auto scheduler for memory management. ### 7. I like its scheduling and deadline handling mechanisms for easy porting with the microprocessor. Its multiprocessing support gives the RTOS betterment. It has powerful performance and optimized operational packages to develop the software application. **What do you dislike about LynxOS®-178 RTOS?** I wouldn't say I like it does not support all packages for memory optimization, which is highly required in all processor-based products. It is not supporting support the interrupt-driven firmware development in IoT-based products. It does not have multicore cache memory optimization. its client service is also wrong. **Recommendations to others considering LynxOS®-178 RTOS:** Its feature and API for the porting are powerful, so for the development of the more extensive applications, it is instrumental. **What problems is LynxOS®-178 RTOS solving and how is that benefiting you?** My team has resolved all the microcontroller and processor-based development in IOT domain and product development which saves our time and cost with high manner from the business perspective. ### 9. It has a descent security standard preventing us from requiring different security and standard certificates. **What do you dislike about LynxOS®-178 RTOS?** It is very nice, just that it consumes much more memory than normal OS. Rest all is decent. I feel, it is nice for smaller number of programs to be run on schedule. **What problems is LynxOS®-178 RTOS solving and how is that benefiting you?** I didn't use it professionally.
