In just 5 minutes times, I was able to fully trace hundreds of lambda functions and get alerts sent to me via Slack for any failures. Finding the root cause of the issue is nearly instantaneous with great visual cues to pin point right where the error occurred. Distributed tracing is so important in today's multi application environment, we are calling out to all kinds of services and want to know where and when a dependent service breaks down. Lumigo does this out of the box and has great tooling and dashboarding for all levels of the businness. **What do you dislike about Lumigo?** Lumigo has been very receptive to feedback, I just wish they were faster at turning around feature requests that would make my life even easier ;) But what do you do... **What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Lumigo solves the problem of not know exactly where an error started. The world of distributed applications is very hard to wrangle but Lumigo does it effortlessly. ### 2. We've used this as a team of 1 and a team of 10 and it's worked great for our needs. We rely on it daily. Easy to integrate with other systems (e.g. Slack) and pinpoint what the issues are. I've used other alternatives, as well as tried to set things up directly in AWS and nothing compares to my experience with Lumigo so far. **What do you dislike about Lumigo?** Customer support and account management features are lacking compared to the rest of the product. **What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Lumigo to monitor all of our AWS cloud infrastructure, which is currenlty all serverless. ### 3. We used executions tags in debug as well. **What do you dislike about Lumigo?** The major issue we had with Lumigo was the price as stopping using Lumigo for monitoring at scale due to a price too high is being discussed. **What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?** The main benefit I see in Lumigo is observability in complex event-driven applications. With Lumigo it is easy to follow the events through the whole flow in a click without having to dig into the logs of every service individually ### 4. A great product for early and easy debugging **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Amarnath S. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021 **What do you like best about Lumigo?** I have been using Lumigo for 8 months now and it has been very useful in debugging, RCA, error alerts, overload alerts, etc. We have integrated Lumigo with Slack, and every time there's an error, Lumigo immediately alerts us on Slack along with a link for further information and debugging. You can find details of every Lambda transaction. Lumigo also alerts us about response time lags on Lambdas, even when Lambdas are back to normal state. The pictorial representation of APIs interacting with different AWS services gives a quick understanding of the service that has failed. The Lumigo dashboard gives an overall performance/informative view about our Lambda functions which is very helpful in understanding which Lambda needs attention and which is working as expected and more detailed information about each of the functions. The UI is user friendly, and it doesn't take much time to familiarise yourself with the application. **What do you dislike about Lumigo?** 1. Sometimes the transaction doesn't immediately reflect in Lumigo, but it is very rare. 2. When clicked on an alerted link, and I'm not in a logged-in session in Lumigo, Lumigo redirects me to the login page, but it redirects to the home page instead of the link that I initially clicked on. **What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?** To keep track of every lambda triggered from the production environment, most importantly the Lambdas that have triggered an error response. This allows us to tackle prod issues promptly and resolve them as and when they occur. Lumigo does this job for us effectively. Integrating the application with Slack helps us receive alerts, its informative UI provides us with details to immediately understand the issues. ### 6. The ability to filter out the logs based on time, API methods, API endpoint, etc., makes it more convenient to debug and monitor. **What do you dislike about Lumigo?** Sometimes, the Lumigo platform is a tad slow, and the response/load times are more. The alerting configurations could further be improved with a lot more flexibility and control on various parameters. For example, currently all 4XX errors can be ignored, but I would like have the control to enter specific status codes that I would like to ignore **What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?** With Serverless applications, monitoring, debugging and observability is a challenge. With Lumigo, we can get more insights into how the applications behave and give us greater flexibility in faster debugging and resolving the issues. The alerting mechanism and various integrations provided help in quickly notifying the concerned teams and also offers the opportunity to respond promptly to the issue. ### 7. So far so good **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Jonathan G. | DevOps Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2021 **What do you like best about Lumigo?** Really easy to deploy - appears to be no monitoring overhead on the system, which I don't understand how that works, but it does (my guess is its a Kineses stream of some sort in another AWS account) The transaction tracing is really cool - I have a number of long-running step functions, and this automatically maps and times everything. Error tracking is really handy and very well displayed. **What do you dislike about Lumigo?** It's very "lambda focused", rather than serverless in general (e.g. aurora serverless, or reading VPC flow logs) There's also no obvious way to populate the service map **Recommendations to others considering Lumigo:** Seriously just deploy it. It takes maybe 10 minutes to get running, and only a couple of hours for the data to generate actionable insights. **What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Need to be able to monitor our mostly serverless stack, in one place. Need deep insights into the lambda deployments, as this can be hard to find Need info on cold-starts, so we can focus optimisations ### 8.
