## Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) Reviews
  ### 1. High-level insights from an amazing professional services team, detailed reports in tool.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

The tool's possibilities are endless, and the professional services team is dedicated to ensuring you get the most out of the tool. I've been impressed with how they've drilled down our team's business goals and applied Lumar's insights to those goals. Additionally, the insights from the professional services team are so helpful in bringing site opportunities to light, especially big-picture problems that may not be problems at the moment but will be in the future.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

There is so much information within the tool, that if we didn't have the Professional Services team helping us to distill down what is most important, I think we'd be pretty overwhelmed with where to start. There have been improvements to this over the last few months, but still worth mentioning that without some direction, the amount of information and charting can be quite overwhelming.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lumar is helping us solve some crawl rate issues from years of site bloating. This will directly impact our primary business goal of more visibility and conversions from our daily news content.

  ### 2. Lumar is critical for any large scale site

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

If Screaming Frog is a paring knife, Lumar is a chefs knife. Both are critical, but Lumar simply scales far better than the Frog

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

It can take a bit to get used to the tool's interface and complexity. It's worth taking the time, though, as it is an exceptionally powerful crawler

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

IDing and resolving critical technical SEO problems on a 30-year-old site with hundreds of thousands of pages is tricky. It'd be nearly impossible without Lumar

  ### 3. Great tool for your tech SEO strategy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Easy to use
Fast to respond
Everything can be personalized
Not too expensive

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Can have even more in-depth features, especially compared to other big competitors on the market

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting a quick overview of our clients website health status
No need to think about setting up/launching reports
Amazing support when we need some education about how to use the tool

**Official Response from Andrew Levey:**

> Thanks for you review, and glad to hear you're enjoying using Lumar. I'd love to hear a bit more about the features you'd like to see in the platform. If you're open to that, please drop me a line at marketing@lumar.io and we can set something up. Thanks!

  ### 4. The Premier Crawl Tool for SEOs. Hands down.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Savvas X. | Supreme Commander, SEO & Analytics, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

DeepCrawl is the premier crawl tool, without a doubt. It's easy to use. It's easy to gather insights. Most importantly, it's easy to share those insights with clients and their dev teams who have to actually apply fixes. This is the key piece of the puzzle for a boutique SEO agency like SavvaSSynthesis. Our clients are often in the dark regarding the issues on their websites holding them back (or the opportunities available to make those sites perform better).

I have one great example of what makes DeepCrawl awesome. I recently worked with a client with an enormous website. It was a mess and very difficult to crawl successfully. The support team at DeepCrawl worked with us for 3 full days to get us set. They set up the crawls and helped us navigate the difficult architecture of the site. Just awesome!

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

There are no downsides to using DeepCrawl. I love the tool and the team. Great support whenever we need it and always ready to assist on our more difficult projects.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use DeepCrawl to gather insights into the performance of my client's websites (including critical errors) and share them with the client and their dev teams so they can action them effectively. It is a critical tool for my team at SavvaSSynthesis.

  ### 5. DeepCrawl IS the crawling tool and team you are looking for

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Becky W. | Director of SEO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Not only do you get an excellent, useful, modern crawling tool, but the customer support and tech SEO knowledge help your in-house SEO or marketing team get the results your company is looking for. Often it is challenging to get extra resources for your SEO In-House so having help and support from DeepCrawl is incredibly helpful.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

My company has a unique situation that all 3rd party tools find difficult - scale for extra large enterprise UGC. This company has been very thoughtful about this challenge and never pushes products that just won't work with millions (billions) of pages.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're able to share knowledge and strategy with a group of expert SEO folks. That is really important to have, especially for small SEO teams.

  ### 6. Excellent Enterprise-Level Technical SEO Application

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff G. | SEO, SEM, Content, & Marketing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

DeepCrawl's ability to crawl huge websites and assess their technical-SEO health is both invaluable and under-prioritized as an application type by many online businesses even in the 2020s.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

I have seen DeepCrawl evolve and improve its core crawler capabilities since 2016, and find very little to critique about its current product state.

**Recommendations to others considering Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl):**

I think DeepCrawl is best for larger websites at the enterprise level, although a business case could be made for smaller sites.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DeepCrawl is instrumental in identifying numerous kinds of SEO issues on e-commerce, content-centric, and other kinds of websites, and I have used it first-hand to assess Core Web Vitals, crawl budget, XML Sitemap composition, canonicalization, and other issues that either drag or boost site performance in Google organic search.

  ### 7. The best, most technical crawler there is. Period.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh S. | Associate Director, Web Experience, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Deepcrawl is the only enterprise technical crawler that does what I need. While the rest of the crawler market seems to be increasingly focused on rank tracking and keyword targeting, Deepcrawl continues to have the deepest breadth of reporting across all areas that a true technical SEO needs. This includes diagnosing any crawling, rendering, and indexing issues, at scale, and is the best I've seen at actually discovering all of the pages discoverable on a site. Several other crawlers seem to miss chunks of a site's full page inventory, or double reporting as false positive things like parameterized variants. Meanwhile, Deepcrawl has some of the most sophisticated reporting of a site's true technical health, with reports like 'pages that are both noindexxed and canonicalized' and why that's a concern. And they have the best lab data for Core Web Vitals that I've seen, without having to use the Lighthouse API. They also have the best extensibility of any crawler, which can be used to inject custom JS and even connect to an accessibility API for WCAG reporting. In fact, they used this extensibility to incorportate CWV reporting even before they and other tools made CWV part of their now-standard reporting.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Yes, I'm a former employee, but that also means I know their tech better than most. Now that I'm in-house again, as a technical SEO there is no other crawler I need more to do my job. However, because of the tool's depth of sophistication in true technical SEO, it isn't always the most easy to navigate for the average SEO user. For example, certain reports can sometimes contradict each other (like canonical tags not being discovered, due to the fact that pages with a broken head is also showing up as an issue), which, without having the necessary technical SEO experience, you might not know what to make of that. Also, as an in-house technical SEO, I need to collaborate with our content team often, and while Deepcrawl does report on several of the standard content items (duplicate/missing titles/descriptions/h1s...), they don't have some of the content scoring or content optimization suggestions our content team would need.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Identifying the right technical SEO issues that matter, and discovering exactly where, knowing I haven't missed any pages. And for those less technical, Deepcrawl will also help prioritize the issues, and gives valid explanations on each report as to why it should matter.

  ### 8. Excellent SEO & Site Auditing tool using Right/Left brain tools

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josepf H. | Consultant Demand Generation, Search Marketing, Speaker: SEO, Keynote, Social Media, SMM, SEM, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2021

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Extremely comprehensive with the ability to crawl a website from multiple perspectives at once and compare results. For example, add sitemaps, GSC, GA, backlinks, log files, and list files to look for issues and source gaps. List crawls are invaluable for site migrations! Being able to see "Orphan" pages from GA/GSC or backlinks is a great technical SEO asset. The interface is very intuitive, with like things grouped in a filtered dashboard. Super easy to filter any report in a myriad of different ways, such as url contains or status code equal to or greater than. The ability to find things like broken links or bad canonicals in source code with a live look at the code is super helpful. Many other technical tools such as Core Web Vitals / pagespeed reports, schema.org mark-up reports. Crawling is very flexible, with the ability to compare to the prior report/crawl or pick a reference crawl from the past.

Good combination of graphical elements showing trends, issues, and breakdowns in a visual combined with deep-dive reports easy to export to Excel. DeepCrawl continues to improve its interface with features such as "data explorer" and the new app view. For certain websites, we run scheduled crawls with alerts/actions to notify us if issues crop up.

The ability to get a completely comprehensive overview of your site from all types of crawl sources is unmatched. For example, by adding Log Files, you can see correlated googlebot activity to changes you've made on the site and cross-link that with GSC data to measure performance. I use other tools for a quick and dirty crawl, but when I truly want to deep dive, the only tool I consider is DeepCrawl!

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

The ONLY thing I dislike is that custom extractions seem more like an art form than science sometimes. Probably because I suck at regex :) I wish DeepCrawl provided more in-depth blog posts with code examples that I could steal, I mean um, borrow and modify to my specifics. With that said, they are very helpful when you reach out with a question!

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

First and foremost, DeepCrawl is a must if you care about technical SEO. The tool can quickly highlight structural issues you may have for any number of reasons. For example, changing url paths or IA from a legacy CMS to say WordPress? Many times the legacy links are left in body hrefs. DeepCrawl surfaces this type of issue quick. I would tell anyone doing a site migration to use DeepCrawl to list crawl their development site to ensure urls changes are correctly accounted for! Have an older site with tons of backlinks? Use DeepCrawl to make certain those precious backlinks are not 404ing or now orphaned because of IA changes. Have any concerns about Web Core Vitals? Deepcrawl can help you pinpoint areas for improvement and give you apples-to-apples comparison reports on how you are improving (or not) from crawl to crawl.

  ### 9. Love Deepcrawl for finding technical SEO issues on enterprise sites.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Austin B. | Senior SEO Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

There are three aspects of Deepcrawl that I really enjoy: speed, customer support, and strategic planning. One of the most helpful things about Deepcrawl is that it runs in the web app and does not take up my local memory. I can set up multiple projects and different sections of the site that can run while I'm off doing other research. I also love the way that the team at Deepcrawl now partners with SEOs to actually come up with a crawling strategy to garner insights to improve the site performance.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

I'd love to be able to create more custom dashboards based on crawling metrics that the organization has identified rather than working with the default template.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're mainly using Deepcrawl to understand the various crawl paths through our site and identify technical SEO issues that need to be resolved by our development team.

  ### 10. More than just a website analysis, but a true collaboration effort between our team and DC

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Packaging and Containers | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Meetings where we discuss monthly crawl reviews

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

There is a lot of information that can sometimes be difficult to process, but the team is able to highlight the most important issues on our website

**Recommendations to others considering Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl):**

DeepCrawl provides you with information about how your site is performing and functioning. Even if your site is looking great, it may not be working well, and Deep Crawl can help you understand these issues and why they are important.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to decrease the load time for pages on our site and delete pages that aren't adding value to our site.

  ### 11. Clear and easy to use software with helpful audits

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick G. | Marketing Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Their audits point to the site's problem areas while giving context on what to focus on next. The dashboards allow us to monitor these problem areas with clickable links to our site for verification.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Could do more to help quantify the impact of making changes. Quantifying the effect would help business cases to schedule in the development work and to quantify the value of the tool.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're trying to ensure that our site is fully indexed by Google, with the best pages appearing high in key search results. It's early days, so I haven't implemented the changes or seen results.

  ### 12. Essential app for e-commerce websites

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

We like the compressive reports from the app and services—helping and guiding any dev, seo or UX team from hidden problems on the site.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Unfortunately, success doesn't come cheap. Not every company have the resources for an app and services like Deep Crawl. There are a few features missing like similar apps in the market

**Recommendations to others considering Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl):**

What is more critical of being proactive or reactive? Is SEO important to you? Success doesn't happen overnight. It's a continuous process

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SEO is not a perfect science and continues to change and evolve. Having the right tools is paramount for the success of any company, however, we found it very important the Deep Crawl SEO services, it shows us clearly what to do or what areas we should fix to improve, and be more proactive against change on the SEO industry vs reactive mode.

  ### 13. Amazing tool to upgrade website

We've used this tool for sometime and we feel that this has been a major addition to our SEO ranking journey. Easy to use and accurate insights delivered in no time.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

There wasn't something we could say for now but yet there could be improvement in interface.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped us in SEO, competition auditing, technical auditing, LP analysis and so on.

  ### 14. One of the best tool for Technical SEO Audits

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

DeepCrawl is one of the tool that is used by our SEO team members. It helps us with website technical SEO. It monitors our website and informs us about any major SEO issues that might impact our search engine optimization efforts.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

This tool is very expensive for individual users. Sometimes it makes it difficult to work on subdomains

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DeepCrawl includes many great features, one of them focusing on international SEO, which helps us find broken hreflang links and solve a lot of your problems. It identifies pages that are missing hreflang tags so that you can add relevant tags country-wise.

  ### 15. World Class Technical SEO Tool & Managed Services

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sporting Goods | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

I like the custom functionality and the ability to dial in your settings to create custom crawls. Also very impressed by the filtering functionality within the platform. Makes it easy to get a macro view if needed or dial in on specific pages.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

The only dislike would be the sheer volume of data you're receiving (which is actually a good thing). If the crawl settings aren't dialed in, it can sometimes cast too wide a net, making it difficult to derive insights without training. However, the managed services team helps ensure you fully understand the platform and are getting the most out of it.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Site Migrations, Audit and Cleanup of Crawling and Indexation etc.

  ### 16. Almost Overwhelming

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jane P. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2017

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

I am able to get information for SEO benchmarks that other tools cannot provide.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

There is so much information that is contained in these reports, I feel like I am missing a lot of great stuff.

**Recommendations to others considering Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl):**

Get as much training as you can. There is great stuff contained in these reports. Learn what it is and how you can best improve the results.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use DeepCrawl for our clients. It provides a really in-depth view of all issues with the website that we can then address with them.

  ### 17. Really Great Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

The easy-to-use plugin/extension for spot-checking

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Sometimes jargon-heavy for the less technically minded

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a content SEO I don't often use the full tool but I use the extension tool frequently for ad hoc checks and peace of mind.

  ### 18. Most advanced SEO crawler on the market!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shivani K. | S, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

I've used a few different well known site crawlers. Deep Crawl offers the most extensive amount of information out of all! It covers all important areas of SEO and uncovers a wide range of error types. Crawls complete pretty fast as well and can be customized to a good degree.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

You may be lost on day 1 of using the tool as there's a lot to uncover. Customizing crawls with some of the more advanced features may required you to seek help from your account manager but once set up, you're good for recurring crawls!

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Regular automated site crawls for all of our sites to help uncover errors to fix.

  ### 19. Quality Tool and Great Support Team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

DeepCrawl provides many features which other tools do not offer. DeepCrawl has the most efficient javascript rendering I've seen compared to most of the tools weve used. The analytical data and visualisation also offers easily digestible information to create action plans which will have the most effect (For Example: Broken Links with traffic, Server Downtimes, etc)

THe team I'm currently working with always give great insights and I can easily brainstorm with them when we find an issue. Their technical knowledge is up to date and backed with years of experience.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

As a company, the cost, but that's only because I have to work with a specific budget, the effectiveness of the tool with the great support team far outweighs the con.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Impactful feedback which affects our metrics positively, identifying problem areas and fixing them before its too late

  ### 20. DeepCrawl is a gold mine of valuable SEO / UX information

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shari T. | Founder, SEO Director, Information Architect, Usability & User Experience Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

I cannot write 1 item that I like best about DeepCrawl. There are so many great features.

I ALWAYS use their software to help identify & manage duplicate content delivery on client sites. Their data is accurate. Their data visualization is superb...and I'm a usability/UX professional!

Their new mobile analyses and guidelines are the best I've ever seen. And don't forget their Google Webmaster Hangout Notes.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

I love this software. Every time I use it, I always seem to find improvements.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since I first learned about DeepCrawl as an SEO, I came to rely on it for managing duplicate content delivery. More pages get indexed. More pages can rank. I always recommend this software for that very issue.

  ### 21. Director of Product SEO — Conductor (Forrester Recognized Leader in SEO)

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Deep Crawl's SEO Analytics Hub helped me and my team increase the success predictability of our SEO programs with real technical insights.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Nothing, I love this platform and it's a necessary tool in our bat belt.

**Recommendations to others considering Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl):**

Open up your budgets and give it a try.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We integrated Deep Crawl's features natively into Conductor's platform to offer more robust tooling for enterprises with a heavy focus in SEO.

  ### 22. Great platform when you know how to use it best.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

It's great that it automatically schedule crawls. We don't have to remember to trigger anything every month. Just check in to find new issues.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Not possible to delegate access or give specific individuals access to certain projects. Unarchiving crawls rarely ever works.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The best benefit is being able to go back in time to find when an issue may have started.

  ### 23. Best technical SEO tool in the industry

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

The technical SEO crawl has been simplified with Deep Crawl to give us daily actionable SEO information that can easily be ticketed and passed to the right people within our company, this has saved us hours of work that was previously done with crawling tools that simply pumped out data.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Some errors inflate error numbers, if you know what you're doing it's easy to spot single fixes that can remove problems, providing solutions may help novice users.

**Recommendations to others considering Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl):**

We decided on DeepCrawl quickly after using their free trial, if you think DeepCrawl may have value I'd recommend checking it out and seeing the reports, and how you can use them.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DeepCrawl is removing the barriers between data and information in our organization. The platform has highlighted numerous SEO issues that we have been able to put in our dev, web, and content backlogs for fixes. Finding these issues before would have been time intensive and require us to run manual crawls and manually parse out data.

  ### 43. Deepcrawl Review

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

I don't like the lack of explanation to what each detailed crawl represents.

**Recommendations to others considering Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl):**

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are making our website more efficient in hopes of driving additional traffic.

  ### 44. Account Manager

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2018

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

The size of crawls that you can run with deepcrawl is amazing. Especially for anyone in ecommerce with hundreds of thousands of pages, this tool can do the job for you to analyze some of the larger SEO data sets.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

There's not a whole lot to dislike. I wouldn't recommend people pay for deepcrawl if you have a smaller site, but for larger sites it's excellent.

**Recommendations to others considering Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl):**

It's all about the size of your site. If you have a site that's only a few thousand pages, Screaming Frog is a great tool for that and will be less expensive. For larger sites, Screaming Frog isn't capable of handling this kind of volume.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have ecommerce clients who have 10s or 100s of thousands of pages and we use them to run SEO audits for them.

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

  ### 46. Great for automation and cross collaboration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexis P. | SEO Analyst, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 01, 2018

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

I love how I can schedule automatic crawls and see them trended against historical data. This makes it easy to trend out problems or site-wide issues you may not otherwise notice on large eCommerce sites.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

The only disadvantage to the produce is the price. It's pretty expensive, which limits it to large enterprises companies.

**Recommendations to others considering Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl):**

if you're looking for an easier way to share crawl data with your team, DeepCrawl is my #1 choice.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With many competitors that also have large sites, we're able to automatically schedule and analyze crawls of their site in incognito to better understand their SEO strategy.

  ### 47. Great for enterprise level crawling but seems pretty slow

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eugene F. | Senior SEO Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2017

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

The fact that I can crawl million pages and have the data analyzed and returned back to me within a reasonable amount of time.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

The speed is honestly just too slow. Sometimes I don't need every variable analyzed - maybe only 1 or 2 yet the software does all or nothing and it can be really challenging and sometimes I have to resort to other tools to get the job done. I wish during the scan it wouldn't lag so much. I also wish the software would let me crawl all links on say one page and let me exclude certain links. This way I can tell if page A has any issues with broken links on the page - but this feature is really not possible.

**Recommendations to others considering Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl):**

Think about how much data you really need to crawl and how urgent is that need.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Analyzing where we have duplicate information as well as really looking at crawlibility of our site to better understand what is happening.

  ### 48. Site Crawls

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Cosmetics | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

DeepCrawl is provides an in-depth crawl analysis and audit for your site to identify technical issues with your site while monitoring the technical health of the site.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

The way the data is presented could be overwhelming to a user (especially if you work outside of the SEO team) if you don't know what you're searching for.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us be proactive vs reactive, helps create a technically sound site and identifies gaps and opportunities.

DeepCrawl allows a much needed analysis for SEO optimization of our website, in a simple dashboard. It also gives you actionable items, to help improve your website.

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Price. It's a fairly expensive tool, despite the fact that it gives you a pretty dashboard for understanding.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Indepth SEO analysis of our website.

  ### 50. A big step up from Screaming Frog

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thiago P. | SEO Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2016

**What do you like best about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

DeepCrawl is by far the best crawling tool I have ever used. I have tried Xenu and Screaming Frog before but none compare to it.
The name says it all. DeepCrawl will crawl any website to the deepest levels and provide accurate information about a variety of topics. They category the information by indexation, content validation universal and site explorer. It is an incredible tool to help track all the technical issues that might be preventing the website from doing better in the SERPS (Search Engine Result Pages).

**What do you dislike about Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl)?**

Sometimes I have difficulty in setting up sub domains. When that happens I either send them an email or copy the setup from another sub domain I have done earlier.

**What problems is Lumar (formerly Deepcrawl) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding the main technical issues and providing recommendations to the clients.
