First off, it's an intranet blogging platform, yet the editing features are so weak and lacking the best my company can come up with is editing your blog post in GDocs and copy/paste it into a LumApps post. Formatting is terrible, it doesn't auto-resize to your screen resolution, it's impossible to copy/paste code blocks without hacking up HTML. AND the company seems to be completely disconnected from our deployment and as far as I see could care less about the issues we've identified. I do not know how or why we settled on this horrible application. Run fast from this solution! **Recommendations to others considering LumApps:** Do not, if at all possible use this app, it is the worst application I believe I have ever used. So many good concepts: post-approval workflows, communities/project spaces, templates, dynamic lists for content and personalized content views, mobile app. Heavy Google integration and easy widget building. **What do you dislike about LumApps?** All of those things I stated above never execute. Approval workflows are great! Except the content isn't locked during approval/review, nor does it save continuously (no undo buttons, its 2018 for gods sake) so when an approver takes a look and recommends edits, it could be 2 versions behind or just not save completely. Communities are great tools, but moderation tools are lacking. Personalized content is great, except even their own engineers don't really understand the difference between tags and metadata other than some needless segmentation of site vs. content. The search engine is often our most heavily utilized tool, its however so unprecise it's more of an obstruction in most cases. Having to spell items exactly as they appear in content titles or HTML content widgets, unsure of how the engine ranks relevance for results as they appear. They brandish the power of how visually striking and appealing the intranet can be, but don't be fooled, thats not out of the box. Additionally, their management of images and media is too limited, I'm constantly re-uploading the same image to the "Library" because it takes extremely too long to find the original upload. Inside of the HTML widgets, I'm also fairly limited in how I can present my images and text. Templates are great! Except they only control so much and not all widgets work with templates, meaning templates in general are useless. I can tell someone hey theres template to write a block of text and put up an image but if you want to add links or attachments, good luck. The worst thing is they're really trying, but they're too young. Someone realized this CMS couldn't hold up in the marketplace against joomla, wordpress, or other tools and decided to try and salvage it as an intranet platform. Which would be great except its more of a CMS and less of an intranet tool. Until they figure that out instead of coming up with new ways to sell this same old product I'd stay away. You're better off paying a developer to give you exactly what you need or trying something like Papyrus, Interact, or Claromentis. **Recommendations to others considering LumApps:** Discuss what you need your intranet to accomplish in year 1, odds are your organization (unless its full of 25-year-olds) will need a change management plan to start using this effectively. Know that it looks like this all-inclusive toolbox in the beginning but it requires a lot of fine-tuning and planning to get it even close to what's advertised. Its Google integrations are strong, but still lacking, and unexplainably far behind Google's update pace. Widgets are both the strong suit and an unreasonably crippling weak point at times for this product. The visual appearance is well built and clean, very helpful for initial onboarding/adoption. I just wished the mobile experience was actually responsive, it's up to a point but items disappear on certain screens with no explanation as to why. **What problems is LumApps solving and how is that benefiting you?** Using LumApps for basic intranet needs: single source of truth for organizational documents and policies, updating employees through news posts, providing room for collaboration, providing employee contact opportunities through directory modules, providing workspaces to start your day. ### 26. We have recently started to implement the Survey function which we aim to use for Learning and Development and are really excited with the information that Beekeeper can provide for us. Learning and Development- We are testing the Survey function to "quiz" employees on their understanding of training topics. This can either be an alternative to classroom training or reinforced after classroom training- which can save a lot of time (and paper) for the Trainers and employees. 2. Employee Recognition- For those employees who may not pass a physical board where we show off photos, we can still publicly recognize them for their contributions or awards received. The feature that other colleagues, department leaders and managers can also "like" and comment to congratulate increases the amount of recognition. 3. Increased knowledge about other departments/team spirit- Through email it is quite difficult to promote a special menu because it's just text. However, with Beekeeper, we are able to show photos as well as text. This creates lots of excitement among the teams as we can visualize it and describe in detail to our customers. Innovation- We implemented a reward program for employees to provide ideas that benefit the business, their department, themselves or any other area. Beekeeper allows us a secure and efficient exchange of information. At the same time, thanks to Beekeeper, we are able to overcome language barriers and flatten hierarchical structures. As a digital bulletin board, Beekeeper is part of our corporate culture to purposefully spread and classify our internal communications. **What do you dislike about LumApps?** Chat communication can not be deleted, only archived. **What problems is LumApps solving and how is that benefiting you?** Part time employees did not feel as part of the team. We have a variety of different operations and it is easy for employees to feel disconnected from other operations. Beekeeper has enhanced and increased our communication within and across our different operations. **What do you dislike about LumApps?** We have not found anything that we strongly dislike thus far. We do have a few teams who wish they could integrate their outlook calendars with Beekeeper, which is not an option at this time. **What problems is LumApps solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our employees can now communicate directly will all other employees. Previously, many of our employees had to rely on their managers to communicate with other employees.
