And as the audience can assimilate and interact with my plans, I also get buy-in and approval. I'm also now using it for technology evolution roadmaps and it's a helpful way to visualize complex information. **What do you dislike about Lucen?** It's not easy when a project won't fit on a single PPT page. I find it easier to create two different timelines. It would be helpful if there was a way to auto-scale to one page. Or at least make it easier to universally shrink font and graphic sizes manually **What problems is Lucen solving and how is that benefiting you?** They have really hit the sweet spot of less complexity and burden that MS Project and greater rigor than Visio. Plus their formatting gives me flexibility to customize in order to meet the particular interests of my audience. ### 2. I appreciate the ability to create text-based timelines that automatically convert into visual timelines. It really speeds up the process and makes it easy to create good looking, professional timelines. I also love how you can apply themes on top of the timelines to get the exact look and feel you're going for, and how it integrates on top of Microsoft PowerPoint. The setup was very easy since it's just an installer that integrates with Microsoft Office. **What do you dislike about Lucen?** So it doesn't work on macOS environment, so I'll always need to run it either online or on a virtual machine running Windows. It would be great if they bring this to Mac. **What problems is Lucen solving and how is that benefiting you?** Office Timeline speeds up creating timelines, replacing Excel and other apps that were cumbersome. It's user-friendly, creates professional-looking visual timelines, helping communicate project plans clearly in proposals, SOWs, and RFPs. ### 3. This product completely addresses that gap! I am a huge fan. I opted for the Expert version and love the huge variety of templates, style options, and import capabilities that it offers. Their roll-out has been exceptional with free Zoom training sessions at various levels of experience and a variety of helpful resources. Excellent product. The plug-in integration was also seamless. **What do you dislike about Lucen?** I haven't found anything to dislike yet. **What problems is Lucen solving and how is that benefiting you?** It offers a simple way to bridge tabular data in Excel or MS Project to stunning timeline visuals with tons of display options. Also, certain timelines have watermarks which do not look professional when embedded in documents. There is a bit of a learning curve with the actual program, and at I did not find it to be the most intuitive to set up. **Recommendations to others considering Lucen:** Test out the online portal/free version first to see if Office Timeline will work for your needs. **What problems is Lucen solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use timeline specifically when presenting fact scenarios to judges in hearings or juries in trials. These visual aids really make a difference in helping the viewer understand the fact patterns and progressions much better than by just listing out dates and events. Especially in the age of Zoom hearings and trials, it is becoming harder and harder to hold onto "audience" attention -visual demonstratives such as the timelines created with this program help and provide excellent visuals. ### 10. For example, I have 2016 PowerPoint and do not plan to upgrade as it works for me, and they work on a SaaS model when they are giving the software for installation. It is an all-or-nothing approach; you need to pay the subscription yearly or use the free version. I would like to have a less expensive and not updatable rather than pay yearly for few or inexistent new features. **Recommendations to others considering Lucen:** If you want to create roadmaps or project plans to deliver them on a PowerPoint slide deck, this is the tool you need to have, not a must-have. It is necessary to have this simple to use and deliver high-quality content that will save hours from archiving the same professional results. I recommend this to you install fast, restart office, and you are done. **What problems is Lucen solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am making roadmaps or Gantt charts directly in PowerPoint in few clicks. This tool is fantastic for the end-user, especially with how busy we tend to be; you can edit the timetable as your project progress and don't need to redo the whole slide to deliver project updates. It also updated the "today" line graphically for you without the need to move it manually. You can replan and can improve the project plan on few clicks; this is fantastic for executives and users ### 11.
