What do you like best about Lubuntu?

What I like best about Lubuntu is its simplicity and lightweight nature. Lubuntu is designed to be a fast and efficient operating system, and it truly excels in that regard. Its lightweight nature means it can run smoothly on older or less powerful hardware, which is a huge plus.

The speed and responsiveness of Lubuntu i personally found it to be impressive. It boots up quickly, and applications launch without unnecessary delays. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lubuntu?

Lubuntu's interface is minimalistic, which can be a double-edged sword. While I appreciate its simplicity, it lacks some of the visual appeal and modern design elements found in other operating systems. This can make it feel a bit dated in terms of aesthetics and the uI experience.

I would prefer using Ubuntu or Linux. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best lightweight Linux Distribution: Lubuntu"
4/5
What do you like best about Lubuntu?

Lubuntu is extremely lightweight with just 600 megabytes of RAM usage when idle. It runs smoothly with basic configuration and supports all file installation systems such as Flatpack, and Debian, making it familiar and lightweight.

I never found it laggy and very fast software launch and navigation. Very easy to use for me. Installation has also been made very simple and easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lubuntu?

The user interface is more technical than simple which makes it difficult for first-time Linux users since many notations are Linux-specific and hence not recommended for them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A great way to get started in Linux on an older computer"
5/5
What do you like best about Lubuntu?

I had always wanted to try Linux, and had used Hyper-V to run Ubuntu on my Windows 10 machine. But nothing beats the real experience on any operating system. I had a 2016-era Windows computer needing a new hard disk. Once I added a new 500 GB solid-state disk, I chose Lubuntu because I didn't know how heavily Linux demands system resources. And wow! Suddenly I had a brand-new computer that was incredibly fast and responsive. I have learned Linux on Lubuntu, and enjoyed the journey. I topped up the RAM from 8 GB to 16 GB once I started to enjoy Linux. It's become my go-to machine to maintain client WordPress sites, and along the way to learn C. Lubuntu may not be heavy on eye candy, but if a Linux computer is what you want, this is a great Linux flavour to start. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lubuntu?

There is not much to dislike about Linux. It just works, and is rock-solid stable. It's a basic user interface, and that's what it says about itself up-front. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Lightweight and Efficient Choice"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Lubuntu?

Lubuntu's lightweight nature is its greatest strength. It offers a snappy and responsive computing experience on older or less powerful hardware, which is fantastic. The minimalistic approach provides excellent performance without unnecessary system resource usage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lubuntu?

While Lubuntu's lightweight design is an advantage, it lacks some of the visual polish and features found in more full-featured operating systems. Occasionally, this simplicity can be a downside when trying to accomplish complex tasks or when looking for certain features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Distribution for low-resource PC based on Ubuntu"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Lubuntu?

Lubuntu is perfect for PCs from 2010, saving a PC with version 20.04 LTS still works.

Lubuntu comes standard with easy access desktop, immediate search and manageable folder manager. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lubuntu?

I have had problems with the latest versions of Lubuntu, it requires more resources and is not totally light for low-resource PCs, updates are a bit heavy.

The installation and management of disk partitions with Windows is not very strong. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"My Lubuntu Experience"
3/5
What do you like best about Lubuntu?

Lubuntu is yet another linux distro. I was using Ubuntu all these years. Lubuntu is a lightweight version of ubuntu. If u have an old pc or laptop, Lubuntu is a great choice. What I loved about Lubuntu is that, it is lightweight and can use most of the features of ubuntu. People who are switching from windows, Lubuntu would be the right place to start. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lubuntu?

It uses no visual effects and animations. But that is what it is made for. Using less resources is actually great an i don't want compliant for this.It is less appealing compared to Ubuntu Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Lightweight and easy to use Linux distribution"
4/5
What do you like best about Lubuntu?

Since Lubuntu is a Ubuntu-flavour distribution, that means that it is particularly easy to get started with. Installation and setup are simple, and all major packages are available and well maintained as long as the Lubuntu version is still supported. What I like best about Lubuntu though is that it is very lightweight and will run perfectly fine on older hardware. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lubuntu?

As an especially lightweight Ubuntu-flavour, the appearance of the Lubuntu desktop environment and the window manager may seem outdated when compared to other operating systems like Kubuntu, Windows or MacOS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
