A single record of the meeting is generated to ensure that law firms retain control of their records, including collaborative redline changes or external shares by the law firm’s attorneys. Lua supports in-person meetings (via device mic), phone calls (by merging a dedicated Lua contact number onto any phone system), and video conferences (Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, Webex, and Slack). By default, Lua provides guardrails to ensure attorneys generate notes in compliance with applicable consent, biometric, privilege, and discovery laws. The platform allows law firms to customize their recording & retention policies based on practice area, meeting type, or client/matter. Meeting data is not used by Lua for training AI models. Notes can be delivered through Lua, email, or CMS/DMS sync. Lua provides additional workflow features to assist attorneys in streamlining their workflows and maintaining compliant records for their law firm, including: Meeting Note Accuracy: Law Firms can choose whether to generate any combination of summaries, transcripts, or action items. Each line of Lua's summaries is keyed to a citation in the transcript. Transcripts are not LLM-based to improve word-for-word accuracy and to reduce hallucination risk. Notes can be organized and searched by folder, client/matter, privilege status, or participants. The Lua application provides a live collaborative editor for attorneys that maintains a redline against the original record. Meeting records can be locked to prevent edits or sharing at any point. Action Items: Lua produces a checkable to-do list for meeting tasks. Action items are automatically assigned to a user with a due date and transcript source link. Attorneys can immediately draft artifacts based on action items, including email follow ups & calendar invites to reduce post-meeting admin work. Time Tracking & CMS/DMS integration: Native integrations with tools like Clio, Intapp, iManage, and NetDocs allow for one-click billing narrative generation and record syncing to the correct client or matter. Privilege and Review: Notes can be tagged as Attorney Work Product or Client Communication (triggering logical database segregation) and can be stamped as "Reviewed by Attorney" to lock edits. Unreviewed notes automatically carry a disclaimer that the firm has not adopted the record as true or accurate. Live Assistance & Transcript: During the call, you have access to an optional live transcript and a desktop widget that lets you pause, strike, or cancel notes on the fly. Intelligent Meeting Assistant ("Lua Assistant"): Post-meeting or during the meeting, you can query your notes to recall past meetings, draft follow-ups & emails, upload additional context or documents linked to the meeting, or prepare for upcoming calls.
