It makes it easy to incentivize people to write reviews by offering discounts and such. The look is somewhat customizable (colors, etc.) and reviews can be easily imported multiple ways (CSV, manually, etc.). In the developer mode all Loox features are also free and after that it's only about $10/month. Integrations with other software, such as Klaviyo or ReConvert are also fairly simple and don't require much knowledge of coding. Overall, it is the best review app for Shopify stores and surpasses other review apps by far (even the Shopify in-house review app) and it certainly worth its money. In addition, they have a 14-day free trial, in which you have access to all the features they have to offer so you can try it out for yourself before committing. Unfortunately, Loox has a very distinctive look so once you have seen it on other Shopify websites it is too easily recognized on other stores, even if everything else is 100% customized. What problems is Loox solving and how is that benefiting you? Due to the incentivize-feature to write reviews (we offered 10% off), we received tons of reviews for our products. This boosts social proof, hence more purchases so it really is a great and never ending cycle of purchases & reviews. Loox alone has boosted profitability by about 14%. Loox was one of the first reviewers to offer photo reviews from your customer directly on your product pages. They also setup a loading system that did not slow down your website and allowed you to display the reviews in a way that really worked for mobile. The customer service we have received from them over the last three years has been amazing. What do you dislike about Loox? There's nothing to dislike but there are some things that could upgrade current features. Seller reviews is needed as a feature as it helps Google Advertising. Also - the ability to remove customer photos from the reviews. Sometimes a customer leaves a random photo to earn a reward and it looks bad on the website - however the written review is really good so we don't want to remove it. We all want to showcase our products and business from the best possible angle, right? Loox is the ultimate tool for doing so. Not only can you import reviews from Aliexpress, you can actually go over each and every review and select the ones you want to portray. This helps you avoid reviews in a language that is not your main audience or reviews that are not relevant to your product or shipping times. Sometimes, I have even imported reviews from a different manufacturer than the one I am using myself. This works great! Just make sure to go through them. However, sometimes the reviews and the photos also look very cheap. I wish there was a way to "clean up" each review (language, style, spelling) without editing the content. Loox is helping me avoid having 0 reviews on our website and it is helping me sort through the ones that I think will be helpful for our shoppers. Not by altering the reviews I choose to give a higher star count per se, but altering to remove those who mention information not relevant to our store. For example if the review says "no refund and no one answered my emails", I will delete it because the manufacturer may not have been responsive, but I sure am! We went through several review apps on Shopify before finding Loox. This app stood out from the rest in the way that the reviews were aesthetically pleasing to the eye. I do wish that we could add customer pictures after the fact and I have had several customers ask to edit their review after posting, which is also something you are unable to do in Loox. This is overall a small issue. We have had a HUGE increase in sales solely due to the social proof of our quality products. Enough that If I could find a replacement, I would jump ship in a heartbeat. Also, I have to subscribe to a high-value price bracket to get the minimum features that I need to make it work. Our customers spend on average 5+ minutes reading through our Loox reviews. It has a hugely positive impact, 20%+, on our conversion rate, which we've validated with extensive split testing. Because we have so many reviews with real customer photos it's obvious to our customers they're genuine and they can trust them. Loox knows when a customer order arrives and send an email that makes it very easy for the customer to leave a photo review from their phone or computer. Loox can also upsell your products in the review request emails, and without even trying generated $114,512.18 in sales for us in the last 12 months, which is FAR more than the cost, and this is just a bonus on top of the real purpose of the software! Recommendations to others considering Loox: If you sell online, you need a review platform that displays reviews in an attractive way, with lots of photos, and makes customers want to read them. Loox has a similar layout to Pinterest, and gets enormous amount of engagement. You also need lots of reviews, and Loox is amazing at automatically emailing your customers and asking them to leave reviews after their packages arrive.
