## Data Studio Reviews
  ### 1. Great platform for free, could be a bit better

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

I love how easy GDS is to integrate with, build connectors, and more. It gives visualization of data that Google Sheets is unable to do, and allows it to be made public easily.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

The process of setting up connectors, and bringing in the data is quite complicated for a new user. You get used to it after a while, it there is a very steep learning curve.

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are attempting to share data from our analytics platform to our general staff. GDS allowed us to automate most of the process and share it with ease. We now have a single url where all data can be updated and viewed.

  ### 2. Bored of Excel Pivot Table: Try this One

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 07, 2021

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

All your report on a Single Page is the Best thing about Google data studio. Another best thing is that you do not need to remember formulas which makes a common man to use this tool. Simply logical formulas are required to filter your data. Showing map on your report and that too with filtering your data as per inputs is not feasible anywhere except this tool.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

Nothing to hate about this tool, even the best thing is that it is free of cost and you need only Google account.

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I prepare business reports which I present to my senior management on weekly basis. I usually use Bar charts, Pie charts, Line charts to prepare my reports. To show sales report I use map also to show graphically. Because of this tool I am able to prepare my reports within few hours which if prepare by Power point or excel would have taken -2 days

  ### 3. It's one of the best free reporting tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gonzalo G. | Digital Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

Awesome graphics, very easy to generate an automated report, in few clicks you can set up multiple reports, especially for marketing tools. Data studio provides me a free solution to show analytics reports, very intuitive, for users who are non google analytics heavy users.
Also on data studio you can deploy dropdown menus, to filter different kinds of source data.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

It's not very easy to deploy a bridge or a connection, between a non-google product and a data studio.
Also, the integration, between data studio and Adwords, it's a bit limited.
There isn't a free integration tool to use Google Data Studio and Third-party paid ads options, like Facebook ads, Instagram ads, or Linkedin ads.
If you have different kinds of conversions on AdWords, it's not very easy to split, or only show the results of 1 specific conversion type. Also not allowed to show ads results, filter ad label.
When you need to "group" data it's not very easy, you need to "coding" a bit, not very easy for marketer users or non-developer users.
Sometimes when you need to apply filters, it's a bit limited the way how you can do it, also, sometimes when you need to select more than 1 filter per graph, could generate a conflict to show the information.

**Recommendations to others considering Data Studio:**

Google Data Studio offers a good solution, 100% free, to deploy reports, without know stronger knowledge of coding.

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data studio helped our team, to automate reports, and also, has more detail about our data and find good insights. Also, it's a big time saver when we need to present and deploy reports.
Also help us to deploy graphs and compare information very useful, for just simple spreadsheets.

  ### 4. Easy to access visualized data

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

  ### 7. Google's Best Kept Secret

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kimberlie F. | Senior Digital Design, Marketing & Strategy Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2020

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

Google Data Studio makes data pivots, combinations and views so fast and easy. You can customize your own data report from its styling (colors, dimensions, sections) to its contents. By connecting your own existing Google Analytics data sources, you can quickly filter and view data in a myriad of ways, including creating your own custom filters. I've been able to uncover so much powerful data because so much less time is spent trying to access the data itself vs. Google Analytics. With Data Studio, it's more about the visual, so you can easily view and display data from a plethora of directions. Reports can be duplicated/cloned, and they can be shared for real-time collaboration.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

The only downsides I've found are twofold: 1) Very rarely, there will be a data point that it can't find even though you've previously been able to view it with a different report - and it's pulling the data from the same source/table. It's rare, but does happen. 2) If your report includes a good number of charts, tables, and/or graphs, the system can become bogged down and it can take a little while before it resolves and displays your results.

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Data Studio to create client dashboards that allow for real-time collaboration, as well as, sharing. I also use Data Studio to discover insights into what actions are being taken by shoppers and visitors, as well as, why they're being taken, in conjunction with data from other user research. The benefits have been immense. I've been able to track user behavior, intent and outcomes from beginning to end across multiple websites and user experiences - quickly and efficiently. I also love that the custom filters allow me to define which data points I want to view - in the way I need to view them, as opposed to only able to view them in a way that's predefined but not necessarily useful.

Data reporting via a web browser

  ### 12. A decent solution for those on a low budget

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

Googles data studio is basically excel on steroids. It gets the job done but doesn't have all the functionalities of a full blown reporting platform like tableau or DOMO

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

Limited functionality. If organizations have a higher budget they could go for googles reporting solution Looker. Which still isn't the best but definitely better than Google data studio

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gds helps us quickly standup reports and visual data to monitor KPIs. It integrates well woth GBQ. This has led to our team quickly finding answers to problems.

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

Easy to use, good integration with Google Sheets and other tools.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

The generated graphs are elementary; when we work with databases with a little more than 5 Gb of data, the performance is slow, especially when integrating high-performance databases like Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, etc.

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When you already have the database fully mapped, I managed to generate indicators for a medical clinic, showing KPIs of medical care by period, by a doctor, and by disease.

  ### 21. Great free tool with some tradeoffs

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

Does most all that I need from a reporting perspective. If technically savvy, easy to connect to data sources. Charts and graphs are generally the same you'd actually use in tools like Looker or Tableau - and you save the cost.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

Triggers and notifications are pretty seriously lacking. You can schedule one notification for a set period -but cannot customize it to a set of recipients. You also can't set up alerts to trigger a notification when some event happens - so you end up with notification fatigue OR have to rely on people checking the report themselves - neither of which are good options

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Product analytics - cohort analysis, conversion funnels, MAU/WAU/DAU, etc.

  ### 22. Turn-key dashboards for GCP/Firestore data

Google Data allows you to keep track of your data usage and other employees or members data usage in a easy to read breakdown that is user friendly and visually appealing.

**Recommendations to others considering Data Studio:**

Make sure to watch all of the tutorials and customize this to your needs. It can do so much for you and your business if you know how to use it properly.

It is a good tool to start visualizing your data

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If your data is in Google is really easy to start visualizing it and making it immediately available to be able to share

Data studio is a perfect mix for rookies and veterans a like to get the most out of it.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

Honestly, I haven't come across anything that I dislike about data studio as it is such a fun data analytics solution. However, one thing that google might want to look at its rigidness when it comes to displaying ones art on the community website and gallery too much of scrutiny may steer away creative souls from showing their creativity at the community level.

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a data science enthusiast who loves to present compelling data stories using complex data sets, especially when it comes to dealing with economic data, I have been able to leverage data studio's flexibility of utilizing various data sources along with googlesheets intuitive function to blend the data and then ingest it within the data studio environment .

One of the main benefits that I can think off my head is reduction in data cleaning effort and time which is they key in the analytics industry given the fact that analysts spend 80% of the time in cleaning and blending data.

It's Google (FREE)! Great set-it and forget-it. Very easy to visualize important data for client reports. Good resources for support with their community boards for unique or specialized calculations.

Some calculations will need to be manually created with expressions. Beware of the date selections in your Doc and tables when changing. Can fall down a rabbit hole if you lose track of your data sources.

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas H. | Manager of Digital Paid Marketing, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2020

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

It's a free tool, it connects directly with other Google products, it can connect with other non-Google products, its easily sharable, and can make data very digestible.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

You really need to use (and pay for) third part connectors to get the full use out of it. The Google connectors it has still doesn't show everything that the platforms show, in some cases, I have had to use the third party tools to connect to Google products to show the one thing I wanted to show on the report.

**Recommendations to others considering Data Studio:**

Invest the time to create the report (which can take a while) if it means you don't have to keep making the same report later on. The initial time sink can be well worth the incremental time shifts. Plus if you have several other reports from other clients that are very similar, you can create one as a template and save time on those later reports too!

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Client report that provides data in an automated way. A client can look at a report and check metrics from 1 week, 1 month, 1 quarter, 1 year, or any other date range they want. All from the same report. No putting in requests for that data to be pulled.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah R. | SEO Specialist , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2020

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

I really like how Google Data Studio reports are so customizable. Whether you're updating the theme colors, page sizing, chart settings, etc. - there are endless ways to create a report. At our digital marketing agency, we've been able to take our reports to the next-level with the help of data studio. I like that this works seamlessly with so many native and third-party data connectors. The fact that you can retroactively update data and share with clients is incredible.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

If you have many data sources (and blended data sources) connected to the report it can really slow down both the editing and loading aspects. My company has a few very robust reports and they are just a hastle to update because it loads so slowly - especially if you have multiple people editing the report simultaneously.

**Recommendations to others considering Data Studio:**

Google Data Studio is a great option if you are looking for a lot of customization.

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Google Data Studio reports have really helped us connect the dots across all of our digital marketing initiatives for our clients. One issue that Google Data Studio has been great at solving is combining various data sets into one source. We are able to do this with blended data and it helps make the data even more clear to show trends and results. Additionally, we are able to show clients their data in a way that is digestible and easy to understand.

**Reviewed by:** Yash L. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

Google Data Studio is really user friendly. The Dashboards are designed very well and easy to navigate. It allows you to analyze data quickly and create data visualizations with ease. I also like how it connects with all your other Google tools such as google drive and google analytics, which is very useful.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

It can be a bit too simple sometimes. Google Data Studio offers limited functionality as compared to other tools such as tableau etc. I only use it for small data projects, as it does not allow me to work with very complex data projects.

**Recommendations to others considering Data Studio:**

It is a great tool for easy work with data. A pretty good tool for engineers and beginners as well.

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

How it automatically brings in data from other google softwares such as google analytics and google search console and combines these all together in one place. We can also bring in our own data using google sheets which is brilliant for keeping all of the information in one report.

Google Data studio is easy to use and set up and integrates easily with Big Query.

We are tracking SEO performance and finding new opportunities using our collected data stored in Big Query that comes from Google Search Console.
