I use it all the time for large matters and small. I love all the features and accessibility, but I have to admit, it is a bit expensive. Adding up all the monthly fees, the costs add up very quickly, specially, for our clients. Also, we had an issue when sharing a production. The party we shared with claimed they were not able to access the production unless they opened a Logikcull account. They continued to claim that the program made it difficult for them to simply download the production, forcing them to "sign up" for the product. **What problems is Logikcull solving and how is that benefiting you?** We can upload various productions into the program and with ease search globally using different criteria and mark documents just as easily, making our discovery search for claims very doable. ### 6. This makes it much easier to review in the office or at home. The syntax is comparable to Westlaw or other boolean based syntax and is fairly straight forward. If you don't want to learn the syntax, it has very capable search builders. Tagging documents and creating tags in realtime while reviewing is very easy and makes organization much simplier. **What do you dislike about Logikcull?** Only one instance of Logikcull can be used at a time. Meaning, that if you are reviewing a batch of documents, and find somethign interesting, you can't simply open a new tab a start a new search, while the exisiting search remains in place. There are no clear document ID numbers. Before a document has been produced, if you want to reference it, or easily go back to it, you have to rely on a cumbersome long hash number to identify the document. **What problems is Logikcull solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is the platform the client chose to perform e-discovery for litigation support. As document review platforms go, it is one of the simplier ones on the market. Rather than wasting time contacting the vendor to set up search templates, or move between document productions, nearly all search tasks can be performed independently. Additionally, the actual speed of the platform is much better than most on the market. You aren't waiting for documents to load; you can easily move to the next document in the search results; tagging can be done via assignable keyboard shortcuts. ### 14. We used to use Adobe for searches, redactions, and everything, and when we wanted to find an email from one specific person we would have to search the entire download of 3000+ pages. With Logikcull, we are able to search a project with the To:/From: option since Logikcull captures all the email addresses in the project. We can be more precise and faster in our searches. **What do you dislike about Logikcull?** We need the ability to be able to select keywords or information for redaction in a document without having to "accept the redaction. Once we accept it, it is blacked out for good, but we need the ability to select the information for review because we send it to the AG's office for decision. However, the final redaction is contingent on the AG accepting or denying our argument to withhold. If AG allows us to withhold information then we want to be able to go back and "accept" the redaction. As it stands we are having to go back to use Adobe for that feature. **What problems is Logikcull solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is cutting down on the time it takes us to redact thousands of pages, and with the new update of Global Redactions it is making our process more streamlined. ### 16. Logikcull's mantra is "Cull the noise," and that's exactly what the system gives me. I am a single in-house attorney managing the discovery requests for the entire company. Reviewing the documents and information quickly, using AI was a HUGE selling point for me. Plus, I love how easy sorting email has become. **What do you dislike about Logikcull?** The subscription or pay-as-you-go programs are costly, and each level has data caps. A big negative is that some features, like archiving, require upgraded accounts. There are mixed results on the transparency of what's included at each level. I also encounter stumbling blocks in getting outside firms to accept and use the program. It is fast and has good searching capabilities. I also like the persistent highlighting feature, the Global Dedupe, and the ability to cull documents that don't belong without deleting them altogether if for any reason I want to retrieve them later. **What do you dislike about Logikcull?** Its ability to recognize text is really inconsistent. Documents without a text layer can't be searched, which really hinders the accuracy of search results. Also, more robust eDiscovery software tends to have more discovery production features, such as the ability to create batches, which you can kind of do in Logikcull with Bulk Actions and Assign features, but it's a little clunky and I think could result in duplicating efforts, those losing manpower efficiency. Other features I would like to see are the ability to add Bates numbers and produce to opposing party/counsel from within the software. **Recommendations to others considering Logikcull:** Attend the webinars and watch other videos to discover all that Logikcull can do. **What problems is Logikcull solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is easy to teach others new to eDiscovery how to use the program, so that makes it possible to distribute the workload and have people help me maintain the Project. **Official Response from Steve Newhouse:** > Hi Gina, Thanks for reviewing Logikcull. Our small law firm was tired on waiting on e-discovery companies to process our documents and productions, which are often relatively small. I love that the billing is based only on the storage used, so it makes sense for both large and small cases. Customer service is also excellent. At one point, one of the company's founders called me and was very interested to hear about ideas about how Logikcull could be improved. They are constantly releasing new features, improving the service every month, rather than releasing new expensive software versions every few years. **What do you dislike about Logikcull?** Rare, but occasional website freezes. We were using it for a document review project, and the platform has a myriad of ways where unsophisticated reviewers have the ability to change large swaths of documents in an instant. Normally we like to minimize the damage reviewers can make, so that was challenging. Logikcull provides a great value proposition in giving us access to a robust document production tool when we needed it on short notice and did not want to install an expensive enterprise solution, which was not required. However, considering the need for data retention over a long period of time, the need to pay monthly fees just to store a trail of what has been performed without actually needing the service anymore for specific projects is a difficult value proposition. **Recommendations to others considering Logikcull:** Be specific and certain of exactly what you need from this service. When considering this service, be mindful of the cost per gigabyte and the expected length of time you will need to retain data on this service.
