Prior to Logi we spent a lot of time diving into visualization libraries and worrying about little things in HTML/CSS/JS. Logi Info has allowed us to move past that stage quickly and get us to focus on the metrics we are trying to create and accomplish. Turn around time for developing visualizations are very quick and deployment is straightforward. Most importantly, I have a small team (me and another developer) and this product has allowed us to be very successful in developing visualizations quickly, which has led to more and more adoption of our other business units. Logi support has been wonderful. They are very responsive and very helpful. **What do you dislike about Logi Symphony?** The software is constantly doing a better job, but it is somewhat difficult to deal with non-traditional or newer HTML tags (e.g. nav). There are ways to add straight HTML/CSS and java scripts in the page, but you do lose out on using other features of more developed Logi Info page elements. Some handling of the data and possible logic that you need is done at what feels like a different level from what I'm used to. I come from a Ruby on Rails background, so very heavy in MVC. Numerous solutions from Logi support had logic move from a "view" layer back to the "data" layer. It's not bad, just a different way of thinking you need when working with Logi Info. **Recommendations to others considering Logi Symphony:** Logi is pushing hard with embedded analytics as well as self service analytics - both which are wonderful. **What problems is Logi Symphony solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are trying to develop and push the use of more data in our service lines. In other words - quicker and more transparent access to data for all stake holders from directors to direct service workers. We have seen more and more adoption of additional metrics through out or different business units, which is fantastic. ### 16. Their BI tool is simple to learn and has every feature we we're looking for. They constantly add updates and do a great job of driving innovations that their clients want to see. Exago BI's roadmap is packed with exciting new features we're really looking forward to implementing. Everyone we've worked with in the company has been top notch and excellent to work with. They've been very responsive to our needs. **What do you dislike about Logi Symphony?** Some of the screens have smaller font and dropdown menu items so it can be challenging to use. We've recreated these screens on the front end so it became a non-issue. **Recommendations to others considering Logi Symphony:** We looked at 5 different BI companies. There are dozens out there that all have their own way of doings things as far as features/ look and feel goes. We knew their technology was great but their people really make the company who they are. Their ownership team have been amazing and their support team is second to none. **What problems is Logi Symphony solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our current solution has antiquated reporting capabilities and we've really reached the top of it's capabilities. We looked for a solution that would not only replace what exists today but also to add to the feature set we offer. Exago brings so much more to the forefront with Dashboards and several options for report creation. We've replaced our canned reports, added a report creator and built out several Dashboards that our clients will love. Exago does a great job supporting new clients and provides a great training program. I understand the concepts, but it takes me longer to find things than I would like. **Recommendations to others considering Logi Symphony:** Other products in this category like Power BI, Tableau and Izenda, all have their strengths. I have to say, they not only had the best Demo but a very friendly team to present it. They recognized our needs and targeted just what we needed. Our business relies heavily on our clients being able to get to their data quickly, accurately and be able to retrieve and download it to the platform of their choice. Exago not only does that but it does it in a very timely and efficient manner. We currently are using Izenda and the interface falls short of providing an ease of access as well as being able to handle large data files. Exago on the other hand uses a very comprehensive tree like drag and drop interface that is very easy to use. Accessibility to data is very friendly and simple. The real shocker is how Exago handles large data dumps. Very quickly into any format. I consider a reporting tool like a calling card to our clients and I expect a product that will make us look and feel professional and Exago does just that, and they feel the same way about our clients as we do. The more successful we are to our clients in the reporting field the more successful Exago is to us and the industry. We are in the first implementation of Exago, but if this goes anything like we have experienced so fare, we are in for a great product and a good relationship with Exago. If you're company is planning on using a third party BI, I would suggest you do the comparison. But use Exago to compare to any product out there. I'm sure your findings will be like mine. The updates are relatively frequent to fix bugs and add new functionality. For most applications we are able to go from concept to production in short order. Customer Service and After Sales support has been good through dedicated rep. **What do you dislike about Logi Symphony?** OTB styling could be improved, most of our internal sites follow a bootstrap like html5 based style and Logi takes a fair bit of manipulation to get looking just right. We have found that in updates some old working functionality will be removed (either through deliberate decision or bug) without being announced or formally deprecated. Some large data visualizations are slow loading (in comparison to standalone JS based visualizations utilizing the same data) **What problems is Logi Symphony solving and how is that benefiting you?** We primarily use Logi to tie all of the pieces of our ERP / Business Appplications together to deliver live Executive reporting. For example our organization uses a two year format when reporting fiscal years (ie. FY 2016-2017) but the Dundas BI system only allows for single year representation; therefore FY 2016-2017 has to be reported as FY 2016 or FY 2017 which can be confusing to some users. The issue we have on user interface is that some of the screens we can get ourselves into do not have an option to get out of them without finishing the configuration. This often happens when we are building a data cube and we open up a join to define the details and realize that one side of the data in the join is missing the field required to make the join. We currently have to define a join before we can close the interface, then come back in and fix the join once the correct fields are being returned. They have a great team of support staff who provide top notch support; even to those who are only using the trial version. **What problems is Logi Symphony solving and how is that benefiting you?** Where the data for our programs are stored in numerous different data systems it was not possible for staff to see the complete picture about the programs they are leading and managing; it was also hard to report on the effectiveness of programs and pilots in a consistent, quick manner. Using Dundas BI we have managed to create a suite of dashboards and reports that bring this data together in an easy to understand manner; allowing decisions to be made quicker; based on facts. Getting the data into the hands of people who need it in a manner that is useful to them has allowed us to make budget and program related decisions in a more timely manner. ### 28. The data modeling and meta data building and database interpreter helps speed up the more tedious tasks of mapping and working with the database. **What do you dislike about Logi Symphony?** The training session we attended at Logi headquarters was not all that helpful as a developer who had already worked his way through some of the Logi basics. While the studio is developer friendly, and we initially wanted senior developers to step away from major reporting building and push that task to our junior developers. We've always struggled with the idea of drill downs, as we have come from a home grown solution of reporting via tables. Reports and charts are very nice and feel very modern and have lots of out of the box functionality by default that enable users to look at specific segments of data by showing and hiding series, for example. The Self Service Reporting Module is another of the main selling points for us allowing customers and end users to create their own dashboard with minimal training and zero intervention by our support and development teams. The solution is also a platform and can be used to do a lot more than just reporting which is nice and opens up additional possibilities. **What do you dislike about Logi Symphony?** No Linux documentation meant a couple weeks just getting the server setup and running and support in this area was severely lacking but we did eventually work it out. We've encountered some other minor issues that their support team was very responsive and knowledgeable on. Otherwise there is very little to dislike about the product. The one thing one could consider a drawback is the need to have a "Studio" piece of software installed on developer machines to design and build out dashboards, I would love to see a fully web based solution, but this is not a huge deal, more of a minor inconvenience. **Recommendations to others considering Logi Symphony:** If you're looking for embedded reports that look great, are responsive, and highly flexible and which can be easily customised by your end users, it's definitely worth at least going through their Structured Evaluation process. With Logi you can build your own dll, css, javascript, etc and interface directly - no other application gives you this much power. **What do you dislike about Logi Symphony?** Self Service reporting for non developers is cumbersome. **Recommendations to others considering Logi Symphony:** Consider if you need to build applications, or consume them; Spotfire and Power BI are competitors (used / using both) but are VERY different to Logi. The fact that Dundas has a lot of visualisations : charts, pies, bars, lines, gauges, tables, scorecards, reports, dashboards, The fact that Dunas has lots of data connectors to connect to etc. **What do you dislike about Logi Symphony?** There are some bad bugs that the support did not managed yet to solve, but hopefully they are on the good way. Also, the updates are let`s say slow, happening only once in a while, i would prefer smaller bug fixes and minor things to be released between the major updates. **Recommendations to others considering Logi Symphony:** It is a tool that has everything that a BI tool should have, and above that, it is developed in HMTL 5, so it is really good. Also, the support is really good, every guy is trying to help you with their own expertese. There's no need for dashboard designers to leave the web UI and go to some desktop tool to edit a dashboard, everything is done in a single comprehensive web app. The visualisations are stunning and the drill down and filtering options are fantastic. Combined with this is excellent customer support. **What do you dislike about Logi Symphony?** One of the downsides of Dundas BI is that with the amazing flexibility of the dashboarding tools comes complexity and a bit of a learning curve. It would be great if there was more guidance built into the application so that the tools could be more intuitive. **Recommendations to others considering Logi Symphony:** If you have complex BI needs or want to integrate with a BI platform from your own applications then don't hesitate to invest in this product. **What problems is Logi Symphony solving and how is that benefiting you?** We're providing a SaaS web application with a self-service BI component which is provided by embedding Dundas BI. The benefits have been excited users that get to experience dashboards that deliver real insights on any device from massive datasets.
