While the many of the others had great modelling and the outputs looked great in the demos the control that the end user actually had from a presentation perspective was quite limited. Ease of use vs functional capability. I think Exago gets the mix just right and even the Express View reports can be surprisingly useful. The recent dashboard update is a great enhancement too. Exago very flexible from a date model perspective and has certainly simplified the way that we present information to our users, we did have some teething problems but these have been overcome. It has been relatively quick to implement and the extensiblity through server events is really useful too. It has certainly gone a long way towards solving the usability issues and the level of technical knowledge required to build reports in our previous solution. Looking forward to working with Exago for many years to come. Nick Cortina deserves a special mention, the training sessions were excellent, very grateful for all the effort that you put in. **What do you dislike about Logi Symphony?** The Advanced report designer looks a little outdated now compared to the look and feel of the Express View. I do wish that the whole of the data model could be presented in the Advanced report designer while you're building the reports as it is with Express View without the need to manually add each part in, this would make the report design experience much simpler, particularly where categories are linked and you need to add them in sequentially. Export to PowerPoint would make a lot of our customers happy. **Recommendations to others considering Logi Symphony:** n/a **What problems is Logi Symphony solving and how is that benefiting you?** Ease of use when designing a report based on a pretty complicated data mode. The report designer is intended to be used by the business users of our application not reporting specialists from the IT team. Adding, removing, and rearranging my data fields, filtering data, creating visualizations all with little work on my end. Additionally, the customer service at Logi is fantastic and all-encompassing. Whenever I have had any questions when building out our analytics the Logi team has always been quick to respond and extremely helpful. We were able to match exactly what the creative team produced using the platform. **What do you dislike about Logi Symphony?** Logi has a huge learning curve and can be quite difficult to learn. The user interface is not as intuitive as a tool like Tableau and it can be challenging to format elements without training or help. I love that the reports can be easily duplicated and replicated and it is easy to essentially create a catalogue of reports to offer to clients. It is also great that these can be customized and branded to our customers. Exago has really helped the stickiness of clients to our software, we would be very behind in the industry without our reporting capabilities. We have one member of our team who is an expert and can do create anything however the rest of us rely on him more than I would like. It is easy to teach a customer how to build a report using ExpressView that is, not only intuitive to build, but extremely useful. In my experience, ExpressView reports have provided a solid foundation for Exago training. Moreover, they provide an effective tool to train a customer on using Advanced reports. **What do you dislike about Logi Symphony?** Most of our customers are very used to reporting internally using PowerPoint. For this reason, many have complained about the inability of exporting directly to PowerPoint. Furthermore, exporting to PDF and then converting to PowerPoint usually leads to a reduction in the quality of the images displayed in these reports. Also, we have observed that the learning curve for setting up Advanced Reports can be very steep for many of our customers. **What problems is Logi Symphony solving and how is that benefiting you?** The implementation of Exago has allowed us to compliment our platform's capabilities with robust reporting. It is a self service platform, and a full web application builder. As a SAAS vendor, Logi is a significant part of our offering. **What problems is Logi Symphony solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Logi for a variety of purposes for a variety of clients. SSRM (Self service reporting module): We haven't seen anything else like this. It has enabled our end users to analyze their own data, generate their own exports, graphs, charts, reports and dashboards, and schedule emails of PDFs to be sent on a recurring basis. They don't need to wait on IT - a lower level supervisor with questionable IT skills can get what they need when they need it. My customers have built and exposed interfaces to auditors, sent scheduled emails to their customers, and have built many other things. Logi base product:The full Logi product is an interface builder. It's not locked into analytics, you can build input screens, file uploads, and loads of other features into your applications. On top of that, it has the ability to embed graphs, charts, interactive maps, sparklines, and dozens of other visual elements. Absolutely amazing product. ### 11. We could use it both as self service tool for our clients but also for standard reports. It's embedded! Logi also keep be a leading company continue to develop the plattform with new functionality as well as having R&D to come up with new aspects like AI. We have also been able to get good support from the Logi team to sort out our initial problem and they realy care about us as a customer. **What do you dislike about Logi Symphony?** As many other US software providers it's a bit different regarding invoice and payment rules than European companies. We have also struggle a bit with the step from our product into Logi products when we work with integrated reports using interface from our product. In the begining we had some issues with the language support in Logi since we have our product Medusa having support for different languages. **Recommendations to others considering Logi Symphony:** After looking for a tool to get embedded with our software, we finally found Logi. Our PS resource was responsive and very helpful with the handoff to our dev team. Debugging requires a different mindset than you use if you are used to tools like Visual Studio or Eclipse. Basically if there is an error a debug report is written out to the browser and you need to trace back through the output to find the issue. You can't set breakpoints or look at running code at all. **Recommendations to others considering Logi Symphony:** The development tools are for advanced users. We tried to work with a junior developer with them and it did not go well. We have an experienced shop used to using tools like Visual Studio and Crystal reports. It's harder to build reports in Logi because there is no WYSIWYG editor so you need to make changes and test them to see what you get. My job involves creating reports for various clients. It sounds silly, but when I have a well defined reporting project on my plate, it is one of the most enjoyable things that I get to do. Exago makes it easy as long as your data is ready to go. It is a satisfying tool to use because you can get great results with relatively minimal effort. And if you want take it farther, you can do that too. Sometimes I'm a little disappointed when clients tell me that they are only interested in raw data that they want to dump into Excel. Fine, Exago can easily do that, but creating beautiful reports and dashboards that stand on their own is absolutely possible as well. I love the nested grouping, conditional formatting, row and column suppression (I use this quite often for QA). Formula writing and building complex filters are intuitive and familiar to anyone with the most basic coding (or Excel) background. I've worked with a few different Exago team members, and they are friendly and dedicated. They provide regular product enhancements and releases that always seem to find new ways to make a good thing even better. **What do you dislike about Logi Symphony?** Any improvements I can come up with seem trivial when compared to the existing functionality of Exago. I have definitely wished for more out-of-the-box functions for formula writing. Exago does provide a mechanism for adding your own custom functions at will, but our enterprise installation keeps that out of my personal reach. It's small, but I wish there was an option for properly formatted code indenting when writing cumbersome formulas with something like nested IF statements. I typically copy this out into Sublime or some other code editor to write it, then paste it back in. **Recommendations to others considering Logi Symphony:** If you haven't seen Exago, definitely arrange to see a demo. It's not necessarily a complex tool by any stretch, but I would say that there is a short, steep learning curve to get over just one time. The analytic grids provide the functionality that our end users need and allows us to provide the functionality to meet multiple customer’s diverse needs with a single report. Logi allows us to customize our product in a myriad of ways which allows us the freedom to create a product that best meets our customers’ needs. This includes the ability to hook into custom plugins, data sources and template modifiers. Our customers love the built in exporting functionality (Excel and PDF). **What do you dislike about Logi Symphony?** Logi is easy and quick to use for simple solutions. However, the learning curve for developing complex solutions in Logi can be challenging. Some of that is due to the fact that our product is highly customized, but part of that is because it is so customizable that there are many ways to implement and it can take a lot of trial and error to figure out which way works best for you. **Recommendations to others considering Logi Symphony:** If you are merely looking to expose data from a database to users, this is definitely a good tool to use. Following Logi's best practices guide will help you maintain the growth and health of your Logi application, Logi health checks are a good way to find out or confirm the health of your application. **What problems is Logi Symphony solving and how is that benefiting you?** Overall, Logi allowed us to provide access to data in a way that is simple to use with a powerful feature set that meets a varied set of needs from a diverse set of customers. We were able to spin up an initial dashboard product quickly and have continued to add functionality (both built-in and custom) as well as new reports at a relatively quick pace. ### 47. Right from get go, Exago was on top. We were able to find all the important information like system requirements, globalisation/internationalisation support, multi-tenancy support either from the amazing Support website or from the in-depth & fun demos. Kris, Emma, Travis & the rest of the team is just brilliant at what they do. We were put in touch with the technical team up front so that we could get all our technical requirements like embedding, CORS, Security, folder management taken care of. So what I like the best, is that not only the product is awesome, but so are the people in Exago. **What do you dislike about Logi Symphony?** There is nothing I dislike. Sure, the product isn't the best or most perfect, no product can be! But when we raised legitimate bugs, we received a promise for a patch and then the patch on the promised date. What more can you ask? **What problems is Logi Symphony solving and how is that benefiting you?** We set out to evaluate and then integrate Exago to mainly achieve the following: 1. Provide a full fledged report designing capability as part of our product (white labeled & embedded) 2. Provide out of the box dashboards & kick ass reports which our customers could then use and/or use as a base to design their own reports. 3. Fill the gap within our product for a BI & reporting capability. We have been managed to fulfill all of these and more.
