Locktera Share helps organizations securely share sensitive files while maintaining control over how that information can be accessed and used—even after it has been delivered. Unlike traditional file sharing, where security can depend primarily on the system or link used to distribute content, Locktera protects files at the data level. Sensitive content is protected in encrypted, immutable .tera containers with access policies that remain enforceable wherever the protected file travels. Users can securely share files through the Locktera Share web application or directly from Microsoft Outlook using the Locktera Share add-in. Key capabilities include: - Secure Outlook attachments — Protect sensitive files directly from Microsoft Outlook without changing the user's normal email workflow. - Large file sharing — Securely share files up to 1 TB through the Locktera Share web application and up to 2 GB through the Outlook add-in. - Granular access controls — Control authorized recipients, viewing and download permissions, expiration periods, number of opens, IP/network restrictions, geographic restrictions, passphrases, and other access conditions. - Persistent protection — Encryption and security policies remain associated with the protected file rather than relying solely on the application or storage environment holding it. - Access revocation — Change or revoke access after a protected file has already been shared. - Viewer authentication — Require users to authenticate and satisfy applicable access policies before protected content is released. - Audit and chain of custody — Track views, downloads, denied access attempts, lockouts, users, timestamps, IP addresses, locations, and other activity. - Enterprise identity and storage options — Support enterprise authentication and flexible storage environments for organizations that need greater control over where protected information resides.
