## Lockdown Browser Reviews
  ### 1. Decent Product

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Supatra W. | Management of Information Systems (Comm 205) Teacher Assistant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

I like how safe it is. It ensures that the user cannot switch between windows that have not been given access. It also allows for a warning for the user to mitigate the chances of people being flagged for changing windows by mistake.

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

It is difficult to use and does not allow for a lot of flexability. It also is difficult to adopt and get people to trust as the users need to be properly informed of how their data is safe.

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is allowing exams to be conducted in a fair manner. With the shift to online education, classes that are graded on a curve are more vulnerable to having their scale being incorrect as people can cheat with ease. Lockdown browser prevents this from happening.

  ### 2. Review for Lockdown Browser

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonnah S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

Quite an easy setup, that's the best part for me really. It's well well-integrated with Canvas, and can easily be installed on both Windows and Mac for students to write exams and timed assignments.

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

I have had students in my class who are classified as disabled, and this software is not inclusive in that sense for disabled students. So, there is limited accessibility which isn't my fav feature.

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maintains exam integrity and disabled students from chatting allowing fair grading to all

  ### 3. Good

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vanshika S. | Marketing Intern, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

Its easy to use, and admisiter in the laptop. Allows students to take online exams without any acess to external sources for cheating, and integrates well with softwares like canvas

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

A lot of bugs and glitches. Most of the times, the software won't load immediately- and when it does, during exams, at the bottom of the page it would say 'exam not saved'. This is a very common glitch, and can be stressful while writing an exam

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows fair process of evaluation during the exams, gives each student to test their knowledge without cheating online

  ### 4. Exams made fair

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tung H. | Teacher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2023

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

The best aspect of Respondus Lockdown Browser is its ability to create a secure environment for online assessments, preventing unauthorized access to resources and ensuring exam integrity.

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

The installation process can be cumbersome, and it restricts access to external resources, which may inconvenience some students needing additional references during exams.

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Respondus Lockdown Browser solves the problem of maintaining exam integrity in online assessments, benefiting both instructors and students by ensuring a fair and secure testing environment.

  ### 5. While not perfect, a reliable solution.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

Security features make it a viable solution for our institution. Ease of use by faculty and students makes setup and training easy. While students are able to find workaround (e.g. second computer), it does act as enough of a deterrent to make it worthwhile. It also integrates nicely with D2L Brightspace.

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

Some students do not have the required technology to be able to use the software and when they do, it is sometimes challenging to have Respondus recognize the hardware (e.g. video camera). Setting up multiple (100's) courses can sometimes require some manual work.

**Recommendations to others considering Lockdown Browser:**

Do some small-scale testing on your network and with your Learning Management System to ensure everything works as required. Faculty training is required so ensure you plan accordingly.

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

While not solving the problem of Academic Integrity completely, it does act as enough of a deterrent to make some of our tests/exams more challenging to cheat on. Respondus Monitor is used when we have exams where Academic Integrity is more critical. It is also cost-effective for the number of courses we offer.

  ### 6. Anti Cheat Testing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Diego M. | Undergraduate assistant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

I like that this enables teachers to give tests that can be taken almost anywhere. While still seeing what the students are doing if the camera is enabled. It also gives a grade for you after submitting the test or work.

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

Something I dislike is the way that if you don't look at the camera for a certain time it marks it as a red flag. It could turn into a problem because it can lock you out of the session.

**Recommendations to others considering Lockdown Browser:**

It is a great tool to use, as well as to gather grades and information needed.

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem I'm solving with the lockdown browser is being able to be more flexible. During the pandemic, it was a key part of lectures to go online and remote. This enabled the students to have work at home.

  ### 7. Improve support service!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

This a proctor and secure Quizzes tool and now with monitor is getting better.

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

Although the response from support services is fast, answers from solutions support services is poor. Always getting responses that we could find on web.

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Proctoring solutions to avoid copy.

  ### 8. Best Browser for conducting test

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

It is one of the best browsers for conducting online tests of students. while using the lockdown browser, the students are barred from using other tabs or programs or files from their computer which can be used for cheating. When used in a proctored environment, it is one of the most secure testing browsers.
one add-on feature of the lockdown browser is that it allows the admin to access the webcam and mic of the user for better surveillance.

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

The lockdown browser is good, but even it has some bugs and leaks, it takes a good amount of time to set up. It has glitches when using it on Mac, and the UI is not very user-friendly for everyone. Some new people face problems when using it for the first time.

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it to conduct online quiz tests and conduct online interviews for the company. it is very helpful in checking the true knowledge and a person's ability during tests. it does a great job and is a very helpful software for educational services.

  ### 9. Not Sure Lockdown is Worth the $ if you Use Chromebooks

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amber H. | Canvas Admin

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

It is convenient and works well within Canvas.

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

It does not work well with Chromebooks. There are a plethora of issues every time teachers use it. Students can still cheat! Several found a workaround.

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They said they were improving fx of Lockdown with Chromebooks, but so far this year has been the worst--and it is only September.

  ### 10. Of the 3 different secure browsers I've used, this one is by far the buggiest and most frustrating.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam B. | Student, EE, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

It worked one time, which was a relief from the frustration.

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

The bugs I get aren't even consistent. I'll attempt multiple log ons, which will sometimes crash at the start, or wait until I've spent 10 minutes doing the webcam check to then freeze. There was no correlation of me exiting running programs, uninstalling video editing software that uses my webcam, or restarting my computer. I was recommended by tech support to uninstall my video editing software, which is both annoying and seems unnecessary, especially considering it wasn't running.

I'm an electrical engineering student as well. The irony of using this program to learn about precision, circuitry, and programming is not lost on me.

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am attempting to take quizes using this software. So far I've spent 20% of my time actually taking the quiz, and 80% going through bugs. I hope to realize the benefits of this program by increasing the first percentage and reducing the second one.

  ### 11. good solution for e-quiz/test

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zhuye C. | Technician, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

preventing students from cheating. Auto-reconnecting while the internet is not stable.compatible with macs and pc.

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

have concerns about the privacy, abuse to access to webcam

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A useful tool to design an online exam. during the covid-19, I used it to replace the paper exam.

  ### 12. If you do not update lockdown browser it sometimes freezes. Very effective to reduce cheating

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lailani C. | S, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

It was user friendly and would provide proper resources when needing assistance.

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

That you have to constantly update and it would take a while to update.

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems would be constantly updating and taking a while.
Benefits it's helps reduce cheating and occasionally provided grade after assignment

  ### 13. A good browser to help prevent cheating, but it all depends on where it is being used.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

Lockdown Browser is an excellent tool to aid in helping to prevent students from cheating. When used in conjunction with LMS's like Canvas, it helps keep students "locked" into LDB to take their quizzes and exams and not be able to open other tabs to Google answers or open other programs or files on their computer to use or view.

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

Lockdown Browser works best in a proctored environment like a classroom where students can be monitored to not be able to use other ways to cheat on an exam. If used at home a student can be using Lockdown browser and "locked" into taking a quiz on their computer, but they can always pick up a phone, tablet, or talk to someone to get help answering questions on the quiz or exam.

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lockdown browser helps serve as a deterrent to cheating on quizzes or exams. When used in conjunction with having a quiz/exam with a set time limit, it puts pressure on students to finish the exam on time and know their information before they take it.

  ### 14. Lockdown browser review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vivekraj S. | Freelancer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

Lockdown browser is used to conduct online exams. This browser prevents the users to access other applications or other tabs.

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

Sometimes it has issues like abruptly closing while using the broswer.

**Recommendations to others considering Lockdown Browser:**

The browser can be utilized to conduct online exams since this browser prevents cheating.

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used the browser for conducting online examinations of candidates shortlisted for interviews.

  ### 15. Great Lockdown Browser Environment for Testing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jesse B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2020

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

I love the ease of use of the product. It works seamlessly with Canvas and allows educators to create a secure testing environment on a student's computer. Couple it with Monitor, and you have a perfect pairing for virtual testing.

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

Some of the features need an extra click to find.

**Recommendations to others considering Lockdown Browser:**

If you are looking for a great testing browser, this is the one. It has robust features and the cost is terrific!

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lockdown Browser solved the problem of secure testing in a virtual environment. Once students realize that they are locked into a session, they understand that they can't search for an answer or open up another resource. Also, coupled with Monitor, students are then recorded as they take the exam and the teacher/professor can watch the recording later and look at the flagged items to see if there is a possible cheating incident.

  ### 16. Respondus is not meant for Mac books whatsoever.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Alternative Medicine | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

Nothing is helpful about this software in my experience. It is not made for MacBook.

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

Thanks to using responds, my Touch Bar no longer works. After having to use respondus in the past, I would need to go to my activity monitor to force quit my control strip and Touch Bar in order to reset it...or I had to restart my MacBook after using the software. Well, after getting this crappy update now my Touch Bar is frozen and won't work at all... thanks to respondus. I am now having to take my computer into Apple because I have lost an incredible amount of function. I would not recommend this software to a soul and I firmly believe that there has to be something better out there. If there are any cost damages to my MacBook I will do what I can to make sure this company is financially reliable, as it is 100% this softwares fault.

**Recommendations to others considering Lockdown Browser:**

Do not use this software if you own/use a MacBook. This software completely crashes the Touch Bar.

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Emailed and have not heard back yet.

  ### 17. Does NOT work well on all computers. It is not designed to run easily on macs and some PCs

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

there is nothing I like about this software.

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

It does not work on all computers, I had to borrow a friends computer for a test. It is also not easy to use, even when I used my friends computer we still had to navigate settings to get the software to run and it was still buggy and disconnected from my camera halfway through the test which seriously hindered my testing window. would never recommend.

**Recommendations to others considering Lockdown Browser:**

dont use this software, it is not effective at doing its job and easy to navigate around.

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are no benefits from this browser. It does not stop people from cheating if they are smart enough to find ways around it. Just take tests in a testing center in person.

  ### 18. Online exam software does not work on some devices

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2020

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

Respondus Inc.’s Lockdown browser is an online exam-taking software that locks in your computer screen and monitors students with a camera throughout the duration of the exam.

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

The Respondus Lockdown Browser does not work on all devices. The software does not configure well with privacy settings on some (modern and fully functional) laptops, which leads to the inability for some students to take online exams that require webcam monitoring.

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The company’s technical support was notified about the issue and sent a detailed System Check Report. However, there was a complete unwillingness to look deeper into this problem beyond copy-and-pasting from the FAQs section of their website, which I had already visited obviously.

  ### 19. Great exam security software!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2020

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

I love that it exits out of all other tabs/windows/files and only allows you to stay within the actual browser. This ensures you are being honest!

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

You can still screen record. I am not sure if this is fixable but it can allow for the copying of important exams.

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solves cheating and using outside resources when they are prohibited.

  ### 20. Thoughts on LockDown Browser

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Divyanshi M. | Software Developer, Research, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

LockDown browser is very good for testing and interviewing purposes where allowing a google search or any other means of copying information is forbidden. I like that it checks all the running apps and request to end their task if it would access the camera at the start itself. The speed is pretty good, and it can be plugged in with any website you want on the homepage.

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

I do not like the layout very much. It is very basic, and not very user friendly.

**Recommendations to others considering Lockdown Browser:**

I would recommend Lockdown browser for testing and interviewing purposes. It is reliable and makes virtual testing very easy.

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I often use Lockdown Browser to interview candidates for our team or different projects. It is very easy for me to use, especially if I don't want them to access certain websites. It's very reliable.

  ### 21. Excellent exam proctoring tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rajesh N. | Business System Analyst , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

Lockdown browser is great in both classrooms and the office when conducting assessments for studies. Once the software is launched it prevents other applications from being opened hence prevents users from cheating. In addition to this core feature the software also enables administrators to access user webcams and microphones for further surveillance.

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

Main issue is that when required to use this software all other applications must be shut down. Also like most software this too is not bulletproof and has its own fair share of bugs. For instance not software is not very Mac friendly.

**Recommendations to others considering Lockdown Browser:**

Great proctoring software and I don't believe any competitors are noteworthy. Great for schools, institutions or companies as its concept can be applied to various situations.

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My main use for Lockdown bowser has been for conducing training lectures. The software is very useful in preventing trainees from deviating from the task at hand. Furthermore it enables instructors to rest assured that students are paying attention to the subject material.

  ### 23. Useful for educators doing online testing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laurel Y. | Instructor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

Lockdown Browser prevents students from having any other tabs open while testing, so it helps curtail academic dishonesty during in-class online testing. I can build a test in Canvas or another program, and students can take it online without being tempted to Google information or otherwise use unauthorized sources.

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

Our students all have Lockdown Browser loaded onto their school-issued tablets, but I'm not sure how to get it for them if they didn't have it already. In other words, I don't know if they can download it themselves onto their own devices.

**Recommendations to others considering Lockdown Browser:**

Definitely a good tool for secure testing

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Although we are an honor-code school, the reality is that academic dishonesty can still happen. We've gone paperless, and students have their school-issued tablets every day. However, it can be tempting for them to use websites they shouldn't just because it's so easy. Lockdown Browser lets me give paperless tests without this concern.

  ### 24. Lock

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

Keep improving the connection service!

Solving the problem of students cheating on online exams! Now we can give a student an exam without them even having to go home!

  ### 28. Great for testing security but has a flaw in Macs

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Allison H. | Timble, Great for large and small buisness time management , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2018

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

This software allows you to take a test via canvas e learning without having access to any other windows in your browser. I.E. you cannot google, screenshot, or click away from the test page without submitting the exam. This is a very secure browser method and is great for testing security

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

For PCs when you start the lockdown browser it asks you if you want to "kill your applications" that are blacklisted from running at the same time. By clicking yes lockdown browser will close all apps except for itself. However this same feature on Macs does not work. This leads to the issue that if the lockdown browser crashes- students can have notes on their screen be reveled.

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This solves the issue of online testing security without the use of a large amount of proctors.

  ### 29. Used in an Educational Capacity. Sufficient and responsive

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2018

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

The browser was very responsive to "problems" that came up and there were little to no hitches during usage of the lockdown feature.

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

Clunky installation and in terms of visual attractiveness it isn't that great

**Recommendations to others considering Lockdown Browser:**

As someone who used this software as strictly a user with no regard to pricing or other options, this was a satisfactory platform for my needs

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I did not use Lockdown in a business capacity, but through an educational capacity it was a very sufficient software. I can see the aspects of using this in a professional capacity as a website blocker or having the potential to react like that

  ### 30. Does exactly what it is meant to

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashanti B. | Intern, Public Safety, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2018

  ### 31. My Experience using Lockdown Browser

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hanna O. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2018

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

There is nothing that I dislike about it, it works very well and it is easy as well as convenient to use!

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At my place of work we are reducing the amount of students who cheat on online exams, it is easier for our proctors to administer exams.

  ### 32. Secure browser for online courses

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2018

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

The browser is reliable in securing the browser for the purposes of examination for online courses.

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

The browser tends to malfunction quite a lot. In using the software, downloading the it once should be sufficient to reuse in the future. However, every use seems to require a new download which is frustrating. Likewise, depending on the browser used, the software doesn't seem easily compatible with all. In that case, again, there seems to be glitches during the exam which can cause problems for the users who are unable to retake exams and may only get one chance for anything they do.

**Recommendations to others considering Lockdown Browser:**

The software has a great set up to ensure that students are using only one browser for online examinations. It also tracks and allows faculty to track student activities so that if glitches arise, they can be addressed. The platform itself can be improved for ease of use, compatibility with various browsers, and better functionality to start up and close when the lockdown is needed to be started and closed, respectively. Thus, with these improvements, this platform will be very useful in the online education realm.

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The browser's intention is to make it easy for users to lock their browsers and especially used in the setting of online courses that want to ensure that users are not cheating. While this is immensely effective, it can be modified so that it is also easier to use by the students.

  ### 33. Lockdown Keeps Your Online Testing Secure

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robbie S. | Multimedia Specialist II, Higher Education, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2017

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

A secure option for online test taking that helps ensure test validity. Having a separate, secure browser for testing that locks students into their test and prevents using online resources, such as Google, to cheat is a life saver.

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

Biggest issue I experienced was students failing to recognized the program was a separate browser that had to be accessed. Students would frequently try to access their test through regular browsers, or would think they needed to install the software though it was already present. Admittedly, this was largely due to our institution failing to train students properly, but I did regularly experience confusion on the fact that Lockdown Browser was a separate program that had to be accessed rather than an extension or plugin.

**Recommendations to others considering Lockdown Browser:**

Lockdown Browser is a great alternative for institutions looking for solutions for administering online test taking. The browser prevents users from accessing search engines and other sites that could compromise the validity of the test, and forces them to stay within the test.

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Valid online test taking. Invaluable for online learning and administering tests remotely.

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

I have used the Lockdown browser several times and as good as the idea is, it is very inconvenient and frustrating .

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

The things I dislike about it is how you have to download it in order to be able to use it. When using it, trying to close everything on your browser is frustrating because sometimes you have important tabs and windows open and to use the lockdown everything must be closed.

**Recommendations to others considering Lockdown Browser:**

Try to improve on the idea by adding possibility of taking over the screen without needing to close all windows and tabs and a exit button in case of lag or freeze of the program.

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used this as part of my studies and education and surveys sometimes . The problem as mentioned in the previous box, with downloading and closing everything is that is it slow, it freezes and locks the computer screen to the point of forcing a shutdown because you cant exit or access the task manager or anything.

The simplicity. It is also quick. You sit down, open it up, and you are ready to go.

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

It is sometimes slow and often times crashes. You can't use it twice in a row which is also very frustrating.

**Recommendations to others considering Lockdown Browser:**

It's not bad if you're looking for something simple.

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Lockdown Browser as a way to build tests for professors. The biggest benefit is being able to use it right away. You don't have to schedule a time or anything as you do with other test proctoring software.

  ### 36. Mediocre

**What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?**

Not many issues during the actual run of the lockdown.

**What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?**

Every time I try to run the application twice, it crashes the second time around and I have to redownload it in order for it to work.

**Recommendations to others considering Lockdown Browser:**

It's very simple.

**What problems is Lockdown Browser solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work with learning management systems such as Canvas. When faculty brings up issues regarding online exams, Lockdown Browser is a well received solution. One important benefit is that it's much simpler than other online testing options (like ProctorU which requires a proctor on the other end).
