What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser? I have had students in my class who are classified as disabled, and this software is not inclusive in that sense for disabled students. Most of the times, the software won't load immediately- and when it does, during exams, at the bottom of the page it would say 'exam not saved'. I like that this enables teachers to give tests that can be taken almost anywhere. While still seeing what the students are doing if the camera is enabled. Something I dislike is the way that if you don't look at the camera for a certain time it marks it as a red flag. It could turn into a problem because it can lock you out of the session. It is one of the best browsers for conducting online tests of students. while using the lockdown browser, the students are barred from using other tabs or programs or files from their computer which can be used for cheating. When used in a proctored environment, it is one of the most secure testing browsers. one add-on feature of the lockdown browser is that it allows the admin to access the webcam and mic of the user for better surveillance. Lockdown Browser is an excellent tool to aid in helping to prevent students from cheating. When used in conjunction with LMS's like Canvas, it helps keep students "locked" into LDB to take their quizzes and exams and not be able to open other tabs to Google answers or open other programs or files on their computer to use or view. Lockdown Browser works best in a proctored environment like a classroom where students can be monitored to not be able to use other ways to cheat on an exam. If used at home a student can be using Lockdown browser and "locked" into taking a quiz on their computer, but they can always pick up a phone, tablet, or talk to someone to get help answering questions on the quiz or exam. Once students realize that they are locked into a session, they understand that they can't search for an answer or open up another resource. Also, coupled with Monitor, students are then recorded as they take the exam and the teacher/professor can watch the recording later and look at the flagged items to see if there is a possible cheating incident.
