## About LiveWire
BlueCat LiveWire is a network visibility and packet capture solution designed to provide comprehensive insights into the intricacies of hybrid networks. As organizations navigate the complexities of digital transformation—such as migrating workloads to the cloud, virtualizing data centers, and consolidating infrastructure—LiveWire equips IT teams with the necessary visibility and analytics to manage network performance, reliability, and security effectively. This solution captures and analyzes network traffic across physical, virtual, and cloud environments, offering real-time visibility into both east-west and north-south traffic flows. By addressing the blind spots that often arise from virtualization and cloud adoption, LiveWire transforms raw packet data into actionable insights that enhance performance monitoring. When integrated with BlueCat LiveNX, it presents IT and NetOps teams with a unified view for monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, and planning for capacity needs. LiveWire Virtual extends its capabilities into VMware ESXi and Red Hat KVM environments, converting packet data into flow records that LiveNX can visualize and analyze. This ensures that users experience the same level of deep visibility and application performance monitoring in virtual environments as they do in physical networks. In the event of a network issue, LiveWire provides one-click access to full packet captures, enabling teams to quickly identify root causes and minimize mean time to resolution. Designed for flexibility, LiveWire offers configurations tailored for small, medium, and large deployments, making it suitable for various environments from branch offices to enterprise-scale data centers. Its seamless integration with virtual network components—such as vSwitch, virtual taps (vTap), virtual packet brokers (vPB), and overlay networks—facilitates easy deployment in any virtualized setting. In addition to monitoring, LiveWire enhances network security and incident response capabilities. It continuously records packet data, supplying the forensic evidence necessary to trace intrusions, validate alerts, and assess the scope of potential threats. This level of visibility empowers security and network teams to respond swiftly, validate events, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. By combining the functionalities of BlueCat LiveWire and LiveNX, organizations gain access to a unique packet-to-flow visibility platform that integrates network performance and security analytics across physical, virtual, and cloud infrastructures. This comprehensive solution aids enterprises in streamlining operations, accelerating their digital transformation journey, and maintaining consistent performance from the core of their networks to the cloud. With BlueCat LiveWire, organizations can achieve the complete network visibility, performance analytics, and packet intelligence essential for ensuring the smooth operation of business-critical applications across all environments.

## LiveWire Reviews
  ### 1. Packet-Level Visibility That Speeds Root-Cause Troubleshooting

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2026

**What do you like best about LiveWire?**

We’ve been using LiveAction’s LiveWire as part of our broader monitoring and performance toolset, and it has become an important component of our operations. It’s particularly valuable for ad hoc troubleshooting, when issues arise, having access to packet-level visibility makes it much easier to pinpoint root causes than relying on aggregated metrics alone.

The integration with LiveNX is a strong point for us. Being able to correlate flow-level insights with deeper packet analysis within a connected workflow improves efficiency and reduces the time spent switching between tools. While it’s not something we use continuously, it consistently proves its value when detailed investigation is required.

**What do you dislike about LiveWire?**

One limitation we’ve run into with LiveWire is the lack of a centralized management layer. In our environment, we operate around a dozen appliances, and having to log into each one individually isn’t very efficient. It adds overhead, especially during time-sensitive troubleshooting, and makes day-to-day administration less streamlined than it could be.

A more unified management interface, whether for access, configuration, or visibility across all deployed LiveWire instances, would significantly improve usability and operational efficiency. As it stands, managing multiple boxes feels fragmented and could benefit from consolidation

**What problems is LiveWire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LiveWire helps bridge the gap between high-level monitoring and what’s actually happening on the network. Tools like LiveNX can show that something is wrong, but LiveWire lets us see why by going down to the packet level.

From a user perspective, that mainly means faster troubleshooting and less guesswork. When there’s an issue, we can quickly validate what’s really happening instead of making assumptions, which helps us resolve problems more efficiently.

  ### 2. Great for showing network perfomance issues

*Ability to detect problems right away
* Shows us when network is slow and locations
*Easy to use and navigate platform

**What do you dislike about LiveWire?**

*The price, it's an expensive software
*There are several other competitors with similair platform

**What problems is LiveWire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have had network issues in the past at several of our locations.

  ### 3. LiveWire's Range Anxiety Bites

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohamed S. | IT Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 19, 2024

**What do you like best about LiveWire?**

The LiveWire's zero-emission power explicitly provides instantaneous torque and acceleration that are phenomenal. It is somewhat different atmosphere compare to throughout previous drive on a motorcycle. I will no longer have to put up with the usual motorcycle loudness, which I find is not the best start to a silent morning. It is very modern and undeniably thrilling to drive.

**What do you dislike about LiveWire?**

The restricted distance is my letdown. It is even alright for short trips but getting 100% charging feels like a single thing one worries about whatever they do or plan for longer outings. This hinders the bikers from using the bike for any impromptu expeditions. The bikes shall now need to be locked and only used during the given working hours.

**What problems is LiveWire solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The LiveWire is practical enough for those quick city errands or short weekend trips. It delivers an utterly thrilling ride, too. It catches glances, answers our gas cravings, and removes the daily stops at gas stations. The impact of range anxiety that cannot be used for anything beyond that becomes the greatest problem of a motorcycle.
