"Linux Mint: User-Friendly, Stable, and Ready Out of the Box"
What do you like best about Linux Mint?

Linux Mint is widely praised for its exceptional user-friendliness, stability, and familiar Windows-like interface—especially with the Cinnamon desktop—which makes it a top choice for beginners. It also stands out for being ready to use right out of the box, offering fast performance and strong community support. With a reliable backup tool like Timeshift included, it feels like an ideal, hassle-free daily driver. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Linux Mint?

Common criticisms of Linux Mint include its reliance on older software packages in the name of stability, which can lead to problems with newer hardware. Its conservative update strategy is also often mentioned, since it may delay the delivery of security patches. Critics further argue that the distribution’s heavier, “beginner-focused” design can feel limiting, and that it offers less flexibility than more advanced distributions. "Linux Mint is Stable and Simple."
What do you like best about Linux Mint?

It stands out as one of the most polished and user-friendly Linux distributions available. Very stable and practical desktop operating system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Linux Mint?

One drawback is that it can feel somewhat conservative in its development pace. Its focus on stability means it often ships with older software packages compared to more cutting-edge distributions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Linux Mint: Rock-Solid, Hassle-Free Daily Driver That Just Works"
What do you like best about Linux Mint?

I like Linux Mint's "just works" philosophy best familiar Cinnamon desktop, rock-solid stability, pre-installed codecs/drivers, and zero bloat or telemetry. It’s perfect for a smooth, hassle-free daily driver experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Linux Mint?

The main things I dislike about Linux Mint are its conservative approach leading to outdated packages (which can frustrate power users wanting the latest features/software) and occasional compatibility hiccups with specific proprietary apps, niche hardware (like certain Nvidia setups), or advanced workflows though these are more Linux-wide than Mint-specific. It can feel "boring" if you crave bleeding-edge changes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Linux Mint-Stable and User Friendly OS"
What do you like best about Linux Mint?

Mint feels comfortable right away. Its run fast even and older laptops or low specification systems. The Cinnamon interface looks modern, clean and easy to customize without breaking anything. mint comes with most essentials already installed browser media player, office tools, update manager you can start immediately. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Linux Mint?

Linux Mint is very stable and user-friendly, but it can also feel a bit conservative because software updates and new features tend to arrive more slowly compared to other distributions. Some commercial apps aren’t available natively, so I sometimes need to use workarounds to get everything I want running. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Low RAM consumption and ease of use for developers"
What do you like best about Linux Mint?

I like the low RAM consumption of Linux Mint the most, for example, my computer has two GB RAM and everything runs smoothly within it. It is very easy to use. We can open the terminal and create anything there, and it gets built. You can install anything inside it and there is no need for a separate antivirus. Its internal management is such that there is not much need for antivirus, which is required in Windows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Linux Mint?

The biggest problem in Linux Mint is its PC box error. Sometimes, when it shuts down unexpectedly, it automatically takes you to the busybox shell where I have to set up GRUB and reset the file path. This is a very prominent issue. If this could be fixed, it would be great. Additionally, every time we do anything, we have to shut down the computer and then restart it to revert the changes, which is a bit inconvenient. It would be better if there was the ability to update at runtime, especially at the enterprise level where shutting down and restarting the server can be problematic. "Polished, Intuitive Interface with Rock-Solid Tools Like Software Manager and TimeShift"
What do you like best about Linux Mint?

I love its polished, intuitive interface, along with the robust Software Manager and the TimeShift system backup tool, which gives me real peace of mind. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Linux Mint?

Its conservative update policy can delay security patches, and it also relies on older software packages. On top of that, the default look and feel comes across as dated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Linux Mint"
What do you like best about Linux Mint?

Linux Mint offers a highly stable and efficient environment that fits perfectly into our day-to-day IT operations. The interface is clean, intuitive, and familiar for anyone coming from Windows, which makes onboarding extremely smooth for new team members. Its lightweight nature and low resource usage allow our development and testing machines to run consistently fast, even on older hardware.

I also appreciate the thoughtful default software selection and the fact that most things work immediately without additional configuration. The community support, documentation, and update reliability make it a dependable choice for professional use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Linux Mint?

There are very few downsides, but one area that could be improved is the availability of the very latest package versions. Since Linux Mint prioritizes stability, some tools arrive later than on rolling-release distributions.

Additionally, while the interface is functional and pleasant, the visual design could feel slightly dated compared to other modern distributions. Improving UI consistency and offering more polished themes by default would enhance the overall experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Lightweight, Cross-Platform Coding Environment That’s Easy to Use"
What do you like best about Linux Mint?

It is very lightweight, and on the Linux platform it offers the same features as on Linux and Windows. It is also easy for daily use and works well as a coding environment. Overall, it feels perfect for customers like coders and data analysts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Linux Mint?

Sometimes software updates are very hard to find, and the environment feels laggy. When I install it in a dual-boot setup, I run into Wi‑Fi adapter issues, and there are also disk management problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
