## LinkedIn Recruiter Reviews
 ### 1. Great candidate match scoring, but sorting applicants needs improvement

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Larissa L. | Associate Director, Product Education & Training, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2026

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Recruiter?**

I like that the system will tell you how many points the candidates match with and allows you to categorize them to steps in the process as well.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Recruiter?**

I dislike that it's hard to tell old applicants from new ones, it doesn't order them in any way that makes sense, and it's not the easiest for collaboration in the hiring space.

**What problems is LinkedIn Recruiter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It definitely helps with being a central location to keep applicants and also handling the communication back and forth with the candidates easily.

 ### 2. expensive not reliable

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Deepak K. | Sr. consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2024

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Recruiter?**

inkedIn is more effective in regions with high LinkedIn adoption; it's less useful in areas where LinkedIn usage is low.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Recruiter?**

Subscription Fees: LinkedIn Recruiter is expensive, especially for smaller businesses or individual recruiters.

**What problems is LinkedIn Recruiter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Candidate Tracking and Management
Collaborative Hiring

 ### 3. Lead Recruiter/Owner

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Molly W. | Owner & Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2023

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Recruiter?**

variety of filters make searching super flexible

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Recruiter?**

They have monetized it way too much and made it a black hole. I pay $10K a year and the effectiveness of the tool has dropped significantly. My inmails end up in peoples 'other' section along with everyone else in the internet. I'm constantly being blocked from profiles saying - out of network, unlock 'profile'. How do I not have access to every single person on the platform given what I pay annually?

**What problems is LinkedIn Recruiter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's not exactly helping me solve problems but it does allow me to send mass inmails - but they primarily go unseen by my prospects. Both on a business development & candidate sourcing side.

 ### 4. Some pros, some cons

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ruby H. | Talent Acquisition, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2023

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Recruiter?**

It's the only place to find a large batch of tech candidates. It also has strong filter abilities.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Recruiter?**

It's incredibly janky (e.g. When searching the title of a company, there's no way to see a logo and confirm you're choosing the right company with that name). It also crashes consistently.

**What problems is LinkedIn Recruiter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The tool helps me find candidates.

 ### 5. High subscription cost, low functionality

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Avani J. | Associate - Learning and Development, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Recruiter?**

LinkedIn recruiter helps you connect with people who are not on your connection list. It even suggests me profiles of candidates that are similar to my current list. I can send in-mails to prospective candidates and manage the job postings in one place.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Recruiter?**

The subscription fee is very high. For the amount that you pay, you can't even post jobs for free. You have to pay additional charges for posting jobs on top of the hefty subscription fee.

**What problems is LinkedIn Recruiter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me send in-mails to the prospective candidates. I can manage my jobs from one location and navigate through candidates easily. It also helps me with a list of prospective candidates based on the profiles of my existing candidates.

 ### 6. Depends on your recruitment needs

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katie Z. | Sr. Recruiter/Account Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Recruiter?**

An unlimited number of searches is my favorite thing about LinkedIn Recruiter. If you are not using LinkedIn Recruiter then you will run out of searches in the regular search bar very quickly if you connect/search in high volume.

The InMails and ability to directly reach out to candidates is the next best thing. LinkedIn will send the InMail message to the person you are reaching out to via their registered email, so it is much more likely to have your message read/noticed since it is delivered to them in two ways.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Recruiter?**

It doesn't give you unlimited access to candidates. You only have access to 2nd and 3rd degree connections; basically, you have access to your "connections connections". You do not have access to the entire LinkedIn members.

Depending on the type of recruitment you do this could be a major issue. I used LinkedIn Recruiter at a company where the bulk of my recruiting efforts were concentrated in one area and I had a large network so it worked well and gave me access to a sufficient number of people.

However, in my current role, my recruiting efforts are nationwide and it does not give me access to the right type of people.

**Recommendations to others considering LinkedIn Recruiter:**

Assess your recruiting needs. If you are doing complete nationwide recruitment for a variety of industries and have robust recruitment efforts, then LinkedIn Corporate might be better suited for you.

If you are a local staffing agency and recruiting for roles that are local to a specific area and specific to one or two industries, then it might work for you. The tip I have would be to grow your network in order to have further reach accessible to you with LinkedIn Recruiter.

**What problems is LinkedIn Recruiter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem LinkedIn Recruiter is solving is being able to connect with candidates and reach them directly via an InMail. I love that an InMail is much more likely to be noticed by the person since LinkedIn also reaches them via email and sends them reminders - so the reach is much greater than a simple connection request with a message inserted into it.

Another huge benefit is that LinkedIn Recruiter offers is having an unlimited number of searches and a specialized search engine. If you are using the regular/free LinkedIn to search for people, especially in high volume, then you will run out of searches so that is where the paid version comes in handy.

 ### 7. Industry Standard

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Recruiter?**

I like the fact that it shows who is looking for work.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Recruiter?**

I dislike the fact that bulk inmail priviledges can be take naway if the response rate dips below a certain percentage.

**What problems is LinkedIn Recruiter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sourcing candidates

 ### 8. Unremarkable

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2021

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Recruiter?**

It is just another way to network and sometimes you do find a good job through your network.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Recruiter?**

Nothing to dislike really. It is just another avenue to land a job.

**What problems is LinkedIn Recruiter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There was no problem, and one more means to connect to a job.

 ### 9. Very powerful tool

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2020

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Recruiter?**

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Recruiter?**

It might be bit challenging for some people to use it as it can be confusing to search for specific things.

Finding sales contacts, candidates

 ### 10. Does not give the results expected

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2020

**What do you like best about LinkedIn Recruiter?**

The procedere to post a job application is easy.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Recruiter?**

The job applicants that apply for the job are not many in number and the profile of the job applicants are irrelevant. Also, the pricing is not attractive.

**Recommendations to others considering LinkedIn Recruiter:**

Based on my personal experience, would not recommend this for finding job seekers.

**What problems is LinkedIn Recruiter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hiring.

You can find new and experienced people easily for hiring. Because they have very strong user base.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Recruiter?**

Their prices are very high, so companies with limited budget cannot afford this.

We hired graphic designer from linked in. And he is working with us from last year.

**What do you dislike about LinkedIn Recruiter?**

I don’t like the restriction/lack of control in terms of candidate screens
