lingua.direct is a real-time AI interpreter that runs in the browser. Two people talk in their own language and each hears the other in theirs, with a live transcript on screen. There is no app to install and no hardware to rent: open the site on a phone or laptop, pick two languages and start talking. It covers 277 languages, including many that larger translation tools leave out, such as Tigrinya, Somali, Pashto, Dari, Tulu, Yoruba and Quechua. That makes it useful wherever people meet without a shared language and no interpreter is available. What you can do with it: - Face-to-face conversations on one device, with spoken translation and subtitles - A meeting interpreter that joins Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Zoom or Webex as a guest and speaks the translation into the meeting, in both directions - Phone calls and WhatsApp calls with live interpretation - Live broadcast translation for churches, conferences and events: the speaker talks once, and listeners follow on their own phone with subtitles and a spoken voice in the language they choose - Translation of uploaded audio, video and documents Who it is for: care and social workers and their clients, schools and parents, churches with international visitors, event organisers, international teams in online meetings, travellers, and families talking with relatives abroad. Privacy: conversations can be set to be deleted automatically after the session. Pricing is simple. New users get 5 free minutes. Plans start at 7 euro per month for 60 minutes, larger plans include more minutes, and pay-as-you-go minutes cost 0.12 euro each. Broadcast plans for events and churches start at 19 euro per month. lingua.direct is built by Invenix in the Netherlands.
