**What do you like best about LinearB?**

One of the best monitoring tools I've found for keeping tabs on a project's progress is LinearB. The Dashboard view of the CI/CD deployments is the best feature.  We can integrate the tool with the Jira/ADO board to track the status of deployments. Connecting to the Git stream to track pipeline execution, repository changes, and review status is the most crucial step.
Really appreciate the customer service team for answering all questions and for setting up demo sessions as needed.

**What do you dislike about LinearB?**

No comments as such. Will come up with any queries in the near feature.

**What problems is LinearB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LinearB address the solution in the areas of tracking the release status across multiple projects, Resource wise WBS, PR Code reviews, Count of PR merge spanning across different environments, Sprint wise statistics, Tracking repository changes, CI/CD Pipeline status and many more..

**What do you like best about LinearB?**

LinearB is designed with a user-first approach, ensuring that every feature is intuitive and easy to navigate. From day one, you find yourself effortlessly harnessing the platform's power, streamlining your workflow without any hassle.

LinearB provides a dedicated success manager, someone who's not just there to answer your questions but to deeply understand your unique needs. The success manager works closely with you to tailor the platform's functionalities to your project, ensuring you get the most out of every feature.

One of the most frustrating aspects of the previous solution we were using was the uncertainty surrounding data accuracy. With LinearB, you can put those worries to rest. The data is accurate, and not processed by any proprietary ML model that makes backtracking data impossible.

Also, the solution just works as designed - which is not that obvious. With data coming from multiple streams and platforms it's essential that there are no disconnections or lost data.

Moreover, they are constantly adding new features offering early access to those.

Finally, their support is super responsive and competent.

**What do you dislike about LinearB?**

nothing I can complain about as of now, I'd like to see tools for SPACE framework like integration with calendars for FLOW tracking

**What problems is LinearB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping my engineering team measure important engineering metrics such as cycle time or DORA to make more educated decisions based on data on how to improve productivity, delivery speed and predictability.

**What do you like best about LinearB?**

LinearB has several standout features that truly enhance our workflow. One of the most valuable aspects is its remarkable visibility into teams and groups, which allows us to quickly identify what is working well, and what needs our attention. With full support for standards like DORA and the inclusion of benchmarks, LinearB offers a clear picture of how our teams are progressing, making it an ideal tool for effective communication between engineering managers and stakeholders. Our teams enjoy using LinearB to improve their processes and increase their overall performance. Having objective measures that help drive data-driven decisions, means our teams are always experimenting with ways to improve their impact. The constant addition of new features, such as the Projects view and Grouping, showcases LinearB’s dedication to staying innovative.

**What do you dislike about LinearB?**

Despite its strengths, LinearB does have some areas that could be improved. Its detailed nature can sometimes make upward management challenging. I’d appreciate a streamlined scorecard-type reports that include benchmarks for easier summary reporting to senior leadership. Additionally, the initial configuration that compared individual performance within teams posed challenges during the tool rollout. However, LinearB’s quick response in offering the option to disable this view showed their attentiveness to user feedback. One potential area for growth is actionable insights; introducing contextual guiding insights, as some competitors do, could significantly enhance the platform’s utility.

**What problems is LinearB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LinearB is a game-changer in terms of visibility and fostering a data-driven culture. Its visualizations and metrics provide us total transparency into the development process. LinearB’s insights help us continuously learn and iterate on our processes, enabling us to deliver more impact and implement best practices.

**What do you like best about LinearB?**

We have been using LinearB for almost a year. LinearB is a robust tool for those who want to keep improving their development  process. By robust, I mean anything and everything that can be counted, measured, and tracked is available for teams to review from Jira and Git. 

We started with Panning Accuracy and had immediate improvements made with how teams worked their sprints. I had been tracking metrics for years using a spreadsheet, but LinearB has all the metrics already visible. The trends for specific numbers is also visible which makes it easier to identify areas to focus. 

The metrics from Git allow the teams to really understand best practices and can track their improvements. The details from Git are easy to understand with plenty of insight at the detail level. There are tools too to help with Git: WorkerB which controls individual developer notifications and Team Goals which includes a dashboard with editable metrics letting the team identify their focus. 

Saves time, provides great insight. What else could you want? 

PS. Managers love it too and can get insight at a high level for how their teams are performing.

**What do you dislike about LinearB?**

With any tool, set-up is required. This can be difficult initially. LinearB does have settings which allow for quick set-up and then refining as needed, per team. But since these settings are per team, training needs can be time consuming.

Provides feedback to the teams which would normally take time to gather and present. Time savings and metrics.

**What do you like best about LinearB?**

Overall it's an easy-to-use tool that focuses on the metrics that engineering teams already care about.  The focus on DORA and other supporting metrics made it easy to get teams to buy into the "why" we were using this tool and the easy onboarding and interface made it simple for teams to start looking for areas of improvement.  When you combine this with a great customer success team that helped to train our teams we were able to start to see results quickly.

As we focus on small empowered development teams giving them the tooling and visibility of if they are achieving fast flow, and if not helping them find the bottlenecks and areas of improvement has been incredibly valuable.  Just by giving our teams this visibility, we reduced cycle times significantly within the first 90 days.

From an executive perspective, the aggregations available to measure overall team performance and health has been valuable to ensure leadership focuses on the right things and not just the things making the most noise.

**What do you dislike about LinearB?**

After initial setup manual team management (leavers, joiners, changes) can be a challenge, especially if you're operating with small teams or teams empowered to restructure freely to achieve objectives.  They've made progress with Github teams integration which we've yet to explore.

**What problems is LinearB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping us understand which teams are operating efficiently and what improvements we should be targeting as we pursue fast flow and consistent delivery of value.  This is both at an organizational level but also at a team level.

**What do you like best about LinearB?**

I like that LinearB uses the already available information from our use of GitHub and Jira to produce metrics without any manual intervention. Instead of spending time manually putting different metrics together in a spreadsheet to understand how engineering teams are doing, I can focus my time in digesting these metrics to identify opporuntity areas and come up with a plan to make our teams run more efficiently.

One of my most used features is Projects to understand how well our teams are planning their sprints and how much work are we adding into the sprint. While this information is avilable through sprint reports in Jira, it's very hard to consume there. LinearB does a great job at displaying this information in a very user friendly manner and is highly customizable to pull data by team, bord, epic, etc.

LinearB is also constantly releasing out new features and their support team is great to work with. Always responding very quickly and helpful.

**What do you dislike about LinearB?**

I would like to see a bit more of harmonization across the different metrics available in the tool. While the metrics themselves are good and insightful, some of them are available to display by sprint, others by week. It would be good to be able to see things under the same lens when looking at teams metrics without having to manually use a custom date picker to replicate the sprint duration.

LinearB is remarkably user-friendly and straightforward to set up, ensuring a seamless integration into existing workflows. Our engineers have particularly enjoyed the WorkerB Slackbot. Notably, the review pickup time has shown a plummetted, resulting in enhanced efficiency without blowing up Slack with unnecessary noise.

While LinearB stands as a fully operational and effective product, its integrations with Shortcut are not as rich as those available for Jira. Despite this, LinearB's engineering team has worked very closely with my organization to introduce new features tailored for Shortcut.

LinearB is empowering teams with a heightened sense of ownership over their improvement endeavors, as well as greater control over KPIs and OKRs. It offers stakeholders invaluable insights into team health and a deeper understanding of the underlying factors influencing the team's operational dynamics, both positive or negative. LinearB not only enhances team autonomy but also equips stakeholders with a comprehensive perspective, enabling informed decisions that are driving organizational success.

LinearB has been a game-changer for our team. It's like a superhero tool for software development. It helped us work smarter, not harder and gave us a lot of interesting insights.

Since we started using LinearB, we're getting things done faster. It's easy to see where our projects are at, who's doing what, and what needs attention. No more endless meetings and confusing email chains. Everything's right there in one place.

Initially, navigating the array of metrics within LinearB can be overwhelming. Thankfully, LinearB's adept Customer Success Managers (CSMs) offer invaluable guidance.

The surplus of metrics can leave one uncertain of where to start or prioritize. Enter LinearB's responsive CSMs, who expertly untangle this complexity. Their advice clarifies which metrics demand attention and which can wait, streamlining our approach.

While the learning curve is steep, LinearB's CSMs make it manageable. Their guidance helps us decipher metric importance and focus effectively.

**What do you like best about LinearB?**

LinearB has been transofmrational for our organization, by increasing efficiency, transparency, and quality in our software delivery processes.

Prior to LinearB adoption, we had challenges with feature delivery predictability. Knowing when a release will hit, gauging the timeframes, and planning accuracy are all crucial to us. With LinearB, our releases have become more like clockwork, with surprises (the undesirable ones, at least) becoming a thing of the past.

LinearB ensures that our end product is nothing short of top-notch. With its comprehensive engineering quality metrics, we've observed a significant improvement in engineering core metrics such as PR sizes, New Code/Refactor/Rework ratios and more. We are also now starting to leverage WorkerB which is a fantastic bot that sends meaningful and purposeful pieces of information to teams and individuals. The information is very contextual and it reduces cognitive load on engineers that is requred as they progress through the development cycles.

LinearB has a really nice UI and it is very easy to use. The dashboards and visualizations provide a clear overview of our projects at a glance via GitHub and Jira integrations, allowing for quick decision-making.

We couldn't be happier with our experience, and most certainly recommend LinearB to any organization looking to elevate their software delivery management.

**What do you dislike about LinearB?**

Areas for Improvement:
While LinearB shines in many areas, there are a couple of aspects that could benefit from fine-tuning:

While LinearB works seamlessly with Github and Jira, which are the platforms we use, broader integrations could elevate its value even further. However, we feel like LinearB provides us with all the best industry benchmarks already, and we constatly guided by that.

**What problems is LinearB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LinearB provides tools and insights that help ensure our teams and resources are aligned with our borader business goals and objectives. This reduces miscommunication, misdirection, and wasted efforts that can occur when teams aren't synchronized. Everyone likes to know how they are performing based on some Industry benchmarks. It is difficult to know what those industry benchmarks are, unless you have LinearB!  LinearB provides us with all the meaningful engineering benchmarks that we are constantly trying to get on top of. It's actually gamified our experience with LinearB and there is certaily a fun factor there once the team gets the benefit of seeing the improvements in their engineering rituals.

Software projects can be unpredictable due to a multitude of reasons - from unforeseen technical challenges to scope changes. LinearB introduces metrics, such as Planning Accuracy, and tools that increase predictability in release schedules and timelines.

In summary, LinearB has been instrumental in refining our software delivery process and driving efficiency. This has not only benefited our organization from a financial and operational standpoint but has also bolstered our reputation in the industry and developer hapiness.

**What do you like best about LinearB?**

Using LinearB presents us with combined insights from multiple data sources that we did not have before. This enables teams to take action, ideally proactively, to improve their ability to create and deliver valuable outcomes for customers. From the moment we started our PoC LinearB helped us identify that which we otherwise would not have known, meaning action could be taken by our teams.

Continuous improvement activities in teams can be directly linked to LinearB metrics with cause-and-effect visible. Hence, improvements that are not yielding positive change can quickly be re-assessed, and those that are yielding benefits sustained and enhanced.

Additionally, any service is only as good as the customer service it provides. This, because rapid resolution of issues, and clarification of uncertainty, is what enables adoption of tooling. LinearB's team is incredibly easy to work with: they are engaged, thoughtful and a breath of fresh air!

**What do you dislike about LinearB?**

Certain features were not available to us initially due to our company's toolset. This was not a fault of LinearB, and we engaged with them to resolve these one-by-one. This shows just how good LinearB's support has been as they've helped shape the tool to our needs.

Not a "dislike" as such, but worth noting : you have to get buy-in from top to bottom in an organisation for a tool like LinearB to bed in and be useful. This, to avoid it becoming management-by-statistics.

**What problems is LinearB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Linking Engineering change and improvement to metrics that demonstrate such improvement.
Identifying areas for future improvement to generate discussion in teams to adopt new and improved Ways of Working
Resource allocation verification.

**What do you like best about LinearB?**

I like that I have a tool that shows me allocations and key metrics without needing to compute by hand. LinearB has allowed me to focus on key metrics like the DORA metrics to understand how my team is doing. I've also been able to accurately figure out where we're spending our time from a resource allocation perspective. 

Prior to signing up with LinearB I spent a lot of time and energy trying to calculate this information with spreadsheets and manually updating data from our ticketing system. The integrations between our code repository and ticketing system makes those calculations happen automatically. This is allowing us to work cross-functionally within my organization to make sure we focus on the right thing.

The ability to drive a software team with accurate DORA metrics contributes to changing the culture in our organization.

**What do you dislike about LinearB?**

I'm not sure there's much to put here that's not super nitpicky. It would be amazing if the data refreshed instantaneously when I make team or configuration changes. With the amount of data we generate I can't fault the system for taking a few minutes.

**What problems is LinearB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows us to drive the Engineering team in the direction the company wants to go. LinearB allows us to quickly see if we're executing on our resource allocation goals. In addition, it allows our Engineers to see how we're doing month over month with our goals to improve internally.

**What do you like best about LinearB?**

LinearB has given our business critical telemetry and attribution for our engineering teams. In the past 6 months the wins enabled by the tool include the following. 

1. 90% reduction in time to release resulting in a massive reduction in cycle time for our organization.
2. Cycle time for teams has been reduced by 66% from an average of 6 days to deliver value when we started using LinearB to an average of 2 days now.
3. Team planning accuracy has been very useful for retros to speak with the product manager and engineering manager. 

As we have improved our pracitce around planning our ability to hit delivery dates has improved significantly. Prior to having LinearB we were constantly experiencing rollover work and pushed deadlines due to poor practices around planning. While we are still very much in the process of tackling this problem, and LinearB gives us the visiblity we need to manage the improvement. In the past 6 months we have gone from an org avererage of ~50% and have improved to around 70% today. The result is immideate and is allowing us to better time when major feature work will ship and coordinate the business as a whole.

**What do you dislike about LinearB?**

While the product has progressed signficantly in the past year I am still very excited for more granular analytics views where I can more easily switch between mean and average values at a per-team level. It's not a significant issue, but it's something that will be nice to have when they implement this feature.

**What problems is LinearB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LinearB provides the core of our engineering productivity metrics for the entire organization. Equally critical to our business, LinearB provides estimation and attribution of developer efforts (FTE per feature) allowing us to report on and manage development costs.

**What do you like best about LinearB?**

LinearB integrates with out git repositories and Jira and give us, in BigID, a full picture of the work that is done. 
Jira can present some KPIs, but in LinearB it's integrated with git and shown in a friendly way to the users.
Some of our most viewed features in LinearB are: 
Cycle time - help identify bottle necks
Work breakdown - helps us see what % of refactor was done and if additional testing is needed or perhaps a retro to why this happened
High interaction MRs
Review request hanging
Projects: Planning & Capacity accuracy. This helps the teams plan better, understand better the work with Jira and adds motivation when they see the accuracy rise :)
Also, we get from time to time a report that shows how the work is distributed over the week and over the day, which is very insightful.
The support team are great. Always quick to respond and very helpful.
And the team of CSMs that we work with are the best.

**What do you dislike about LinearB?**

The tool is designed to Saas products, which is great. 
But it would be great if the cycle time could have been configurable (i.e. remove the Deploy part in our case).

**What problems is LinearB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Integrated data from git and Jira.
Mainly Jira insights that are available in Jira but not out-of-the-box like in LinearB, such as the planning & capacity accuracy.

**What do you like best about LinearB?**

I tested and compared numerous other tools such as Haystack, WayDev, etc, and by far, LinearB was the best one as it combines all the required metrics in a nice tool to use every day. In addition, their engineering and support team is top-notch and friendly.

**What do you dislike about LinearB?**

As I work in a tech consultancy, we need to manage multiple instances of LinearB. While multiple organization features work, it is not that smooth and introduces some frictiosn. These are not deal breakers but it could be better.

**What problems is LinearB solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LinearB offers several positive features that can greatly benefit development teams and projects. More than a KPI tracking tool, it really helps in building better coding practices and culture.
It can be a great help in coaching and growing the skills of your Team Leads, as it is simple to use and customize.
On top of that, you can clearly see that they are working a lot on the product, and listen to their customers. They release useful new features every quarter, if not every month.

**What do you dislike about LinearB?**

While it tries to provide single pan of glass from the developer level up to the C level, it doesn't quite achieve this goal yet. 
I can see it could greatly benefit on the developer eduction side and on the C level reporting. Hopefully will come soon!

The largest benefit is seeing how the code flows through your system from start to finish. The quick and easy insights LinearB provides fosters great discussions within teams on what impacts their ability to get code deployed. Many of our teams have found the work that happens outside of coding in the largest hindrence to productivity, not writing the code itself. Also, this has fostered discussions on how best the team wants to work together to balance focus time with collaboration time.

LinearB is working on building out better enterprise like features. Working with a larger engineering organization some parts are a bit difficult to manage. The team is very receptive to feedback though and I'm looking forward to the improvements.

LinearB is a great tool to link Github (or Git) activity with a ticketing system, and get an overview of what's happening from a code perspective when you have lots of repos and teams. The automation with WorkerB saves a lot of engineering time and smooths out a lot of manual work.

I wish the Shortcut integration was as good as the Jira integration. We don't use Jira, and would like to see the rich project management tracking. But LinearB is one of the only tools that supports Shortcut so it's still worth it.

LinearB is rich with data and insights while managing to avoid the massive and bewildering dump of data that some competing products deliver. We have easily and quickly been able to use LinearB to find areas of focus in our operations, drive improvements, and see real-time results in LinearB. We've had questions and Support responds lightning fast. We have also found a couple defects -- we're a software company too, we get it, there's no such thing as defect-free software. Support landed on them like marines on the beach. One was fixed literally one hour after we reported it. The other was a little more complicated, and we saw it rapidly escalated for focused attention.

linearb focus is on empowering teams to improve by making their bottlenecks more visible and measurable.
while it's not a super opinionanted tool, it makes it easier to follow Lean principles, and accelerate on continuous delivery (eg. using DORA metrics, and go deeper from there), which is among the few engineering north starts with science behind it.
we tried for a long time to use tools that were more focused on reporting resource utilization and budgetting, that checked some boxes but weren't really driving a culture of continuous improvement.
linearb clicked almost immediately with engineers and EMs, including some aha! moments right on onboarding.

The customer support has been good, answering queries I've raised. The user interface is very slick and engaging and, if I can get all of the Jira data to pull through in just the right way, I'm sure it can be a useful daily tool. I already appreciate some of the slack commands that allow you to see all outstanding reviews. Very nice!

It can be a bit tricky trying to work out how to properly integrate Jira with it. Technically, the integration is easy but actually seeing the work apportioned to the appropriate users and working over time is a bit harder to quite setup.

On top of that, the great team at LinearB has provided us with consistent and helpful support and guidance to ensure we keep getting value from the tool.

There are several metrics highly related to the metrics LinearB contains, but we need to source from other tools or that we can't configure in a good way. For example, things like CFR aren't quite working the way we want it (they're currently looking into this for us), and the way our SRE solution works means we can't track incidents in the way we wanted. In addition, there are other external metrics that we have to keep track of manually. Some customization options for these peripheral metrics would have significantly increased the value we get from the tool.

LinearB helps us optimize the process in how we developer our software. It lets us understand how we distribute the time in various parts of the development process to ensure we can optimize the right parts. It had a lot of annoying notifications on Slack and emails. For example, if someone approved a Merge Request, you will receive the default GitLab notification, but also the LinearB (WorkerB) notification.

LinearB looks pretty new and is currently only integrated with JIRA. It would have been helpful it could have also integrated it with Linear, because having Issue tickets along with PR helps identify the time spent on an issue and not just on GitHub.
