This makes transitioning a lot easier. The editor has all the various features you would expect from a decent editor and also provides the ability to use Sublime text 3 packages - Again this helps with migrating, you can use the same modules you currently rely on. The other great features are CLI access, QML, multi-platform and Opensource (you can modify the editor to suit your own requirements if you are competent in GO). **What do you dislike about Lime Text?** The only negative is that the software is provided as source-code only, you need to build the software from this which requires a little more knowledge and also other software to compile. This would be greatly improved and pickup more traction if builds were also released for the most popular platforms. **Recommendations to others considering Lime Text:** If you are looking for a great text editor that you can customise then look no further. **What problems is Lime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?** Lime text is a great tool and replacement for Sublime Text. Although Sublime is a great piece of software and rich in features, it is fundamentally shareware - a commercial application that you need to purchase to use to its full potential. Lime Text is an Opensource replacement which mitigates the licensing fees, giving you the freedom to modify the source code to fit your requirements. ### 2. Only then we can have awesome theme and plugin base. Installation istructions are not very clear. I love the source code . i have edited it many times , so can you . It is very useful , powerful , clean . It has a sleek and power User Interface as compared to sublime text . It is very light weight by default . It also removes every UI element so that you can focus on code. **What do you dislike about Lime Text?** We have to build lime from source , which may be out of many people's skill level . Recently , its development has slowed down and sublime has started the development at faster rate . We developers need open source software more ! **Recommendations to others considering Lime Text:** Well guys , as i always say in my other reviews , do try open source software because they are free and yet they are good , some of them are really good. **What problems is Lime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?** I used it for web development , mainly web designing in css , html and javascript . I was introduced to program in my internship in indicium hub , after that did not really use it much. ### 6. As for Go developers, this is a must-know text editor to use and contribute. The super user can customize the front-end with several technologies and compatibility with Sublime Text plugins make most of the users to try it. **What do you dislike about Lime Text?** A bit buggy and still in alpha stage. The UI still needs to polish but the back-end is almost robust. There is no executables stand-alone installers and the user needs to build and install by themselves. **Recommendations to others considering Lime Text:** If you like an alternative of Sublime Text and Atom is not your taste, try Lime Text and you will enjoy it. **What problems is Lime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?** I don't want to buy a beta Sublime Text text editor and want to avoid the annoying "buy this product" option, this is a editor of choice for me at this moment. ### 7. Lime text is an extremely extensible editor, and as such, its feature set doesn't stay constrained to just "what comes in the box." Instead, items like multi-edit, Git support, and many others, allow Lime to continually keep ahead of competing editors. **What do you dislike about Lime Text?** I wish Lime could load a little bit faster, especially with a fair amount of extensions installed, Lime can sometimes be a little slow to start. **Recommendations to others considering Lime Text:** Give Lime text at least a month or two within your team. Given time, one can easily see how productivity is increased once the user level of the editor has increased with time. **What problems is Lime Text solving and how is that benefiting you?** Lime has increased productivity with my team by at least a few percentage points just in the 3 months alone that we've been using it.
