The shortcuts make the work more productive, as well as the tools on the right side and right-clicking the mouse. Having the terminology already loaded is of help, in most cases. **What do you dislike about LILT Platform?** First, the way the tasks are listed, in the landing page. When there's a long list (which is good!) it's hard to follow what's done or not done, what should be next, or to prioritize somehow. Second, perhaps the terminology could be neutral for capitalization, unless it is mandatory. Finally, the batch checks show so many false positives that it is easy to just ignore the important ones. **What problems is LILT Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** All the files come in a standard format, I have no trouble with any conversion. Also, I send the output through the platform, which measures the time I spend and my productivity automatically. Thus, the workflow is very straightforward and saves me a lot of time. ### 2. Accounting is automatic so I do not have to copy data several times in a month just to keep up. There are various views, you can use them in a longer document especially. The moving of tags is really inventive and it works. **What do you dislike about LILT Platform?** Three areas need improvement. 1. Tags in long or difficult sentences present a serious challenge especially when replaceables are included. Moreover, tags in my recent longer translation appeared incorrectly placed in all longer sentences. Translating to Hungarian would require rearranging the sentence, for example, I would have to provide replaceables with suffixes but that is next to impossible with tags. 2. The QA process is generally good and helpful, but it has one giant handicap right now. There is a type of question where the system is asking me where the equivalent of an English word is - for example: The, The elements questioned are always in the text, but somehow the Tool does not recognise them. This is just a no-go in a translation platform. E.g. some languages do not use articles at all (like Russian). This whole category is ill-conceived and I found no useful suggestions in it even a single time. 3. Numbers and codes are not always accurately copied to the target - but I think we could expect that from an AI-based platform. We linguists should be occupied with the language and not checking sequences of numbers and codes. **What problems is LILT Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** The ability to move tags is a giant step in helping translators and reviewers. Recently I found that with longer tasks, the tone of voice (informal or formal conjugation) is defined. (In fact it should be defined already in the engagement email.) A Glossary that helps especially with English or American three-letter abbreviations is a must. Last time it was a great help - maybe it included preferences also, but it was something to be followeed like a lodestar. ### 3. The interface is user friendly, simple yet contains a lot of useful features. You can track the word count and progress. There are several important features in this platform including Find & Replace function and small window containing the description of the string being translated. **What do you dislike about LILT Platform?** Working with tags is quite hard. Tags absolutely cannot be copied or moved. Projecting the tags is so random, they projected to the wrong position in the sentence and can't be changed with simple keyboard shortcuts. Keyboard shortcuts sometimes don't work if the keyboard language is different than English. Revising or editing the confirmed segments sometimes don't work. **What problems is LILT Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** In general, as it's an online platform, I can access the material whenever and wherever I want. This is a huge advantage over offline translation tools. ### 4. I fairst of all making everything easier, assigning the assignment is very easy, accepting or declining the task is very easy, and the PM are able to track the whether the interpreter is working or not, thus to communicate with them on time. Lilt contains in-built Translation memories that help while delivering the finished tasks quickly. So you understand benefits are many, the work is done very fast, the translators' profiles are also available in the database, and it is very easy to select a translator. ### 5. What I like the most are the many shortcuts that speed up the translation process a lot. From easy functions like confirming/unconfirming segments, going to next segment to moving tags around and many more. Working with LILT, you'll hardly need a mouse anymore. Apart from faster, it's also ergonomic. But here comes the best (at least for me): You don't have just simple machine translation or translation memory results. The interface of most CAT tools shows you the results of machine translation (and fuzzy matches etc.) on the right side, while in LILT it prepopulates the editing line below the source segment. When you need to make changes in the machine translation result and start editing it, the translation suggestion changes accordingly: Corresponding articles, adjectives etc. adapt to the edits. You can accept word after word by just hitting the enter button, no need to write every single word. You can also accept a whole sentence with another shortcut. Starting from 2015, when I took my first translation task, I have used quite a few software and platforms. I think LILT is THE best. I'm not tech-savvy, but LILT is so user-friendly. I don't have a powerful computer, but LILT runs so smoothly and I don't remember meeting any runtime errors. Most times I find myself writing in the error log box because the cursor changes automatically. This is a waste of time as I can't copy the text and I have to write the corrected text all over again. This saves time and doesn't require importing MT translations from an external source.
