"Paywall business structure - hidden costs galore"

What do you like best?

The only thing I appreciate about LS ecom is the somewhat easy navigation.

What do you dislike?

Lightspeed goes public and doesn't have gift cards. Except you can get gift cards with some terrible work around that goes to another website for payment(only $600 and $20/mo.). Paywall after paywall. You want a sign up form on your site? Paywall subscription app. Lightspeed has built an amateur skeleton platform where if you want anything basic you have to sign up for a subscription service. This structure makes it so they sell you on the 60/mo. you spend months getting everything going(digging your own grave) then you'll have to spend 5-10 times just to get the most basic features. The joke is on you if you choose to use lightspeed ecom, ever. Disgusting and manipulative tactics to gain profit while pushing a sub par product. Worst company ever.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Don't do it. Its just not capable of handling any serious business's need to grow. Every time you want to add features for your customers/users its either impossible or its behind yet another paywall subscription. I can say that this platform has cost me financially and negatively affected my career.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

LS Ecom does not have:

Gift Cards - without using some shady workaround that takes customer to another url for payment($600 setup and $20/mo. subscription)

Forms - without $20/ mo. subscription service

Affiliate marketing - without $79/mo service

Email marketing - without $40/mo. service

Loyalty program - without $80/mo. service

and on and on and on.

Unable to modify sitemap for the simplest of SEO.

SEO is terrible. I'm an SEO professional.

"Lightspeed .. A cloud-based ecommerce system "

What do you like best?

The good feature is that the register is connected and synced with the store inventory and website! The program is very user friendly with simple and easy to access the menus .Lightspeed offers functionality for customizable checkout, upsell and cross-sell features, related product recommendations, promotions and custom pricing for single items or groups of items, customer product

What do you dislike?

The product is Expensive and complex for very small businesses and startups. Also the payment for subscription for one year is not advisable for a startup.The level of support is not always available hence a novice cannot get the full benefit with no support

A good cloud based eCommerce solution that has great for integration between instore sales and inventory.

we have increased our customers and also the good sync with the inventory helps us to restock and know the reorder level for the inventory

"Simple, feature rich and easy to implement"

What do you like best?

Ease of set up, everything is highly customizable with no requirement for coding experience.

Excellent selection of templates for all types of businesses, again all can be highly customized

The overall platform is very feature rich, without the need to install lots of apps.

What do you dislike?

If you require an onmi channel solutions (retail and ecom), be sure to not build out your trial as they need to provision you with an account that is configured for omni. We spent a week building out our site to realize that we had been emailed new credentials after we subscribed, and this was not made clear!

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Lightspeed provides a super fast page load time which is great for the end user/customer. Support, albeit a wait sometimes, they are exceptionally helpful, nothing is too much of an issue and they make a point of following up on tickets that they create in a prompt fashion, rather than you having to chase them.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We have experienced much faster page load times than compared to BigCommerce and Shopify, a smoother vendor relationship than prior platforms and the ease of setting up products and managing inventory is infinitely easier with Lightspeed.

"A solid option for simple eCommerce sites, particularly if you're already running Lightspeed for POS"

What do you like best?

Lightspeed eCom is a solid solution for a brick-and-mortar store looking to make the leap to ecommerce, particularly if they're already running the Lightspeed POS. The way it simplifies and streamlines everything is probably its best feature.

What do you dislike?

While it's a nice place to start, the relative lack of customizability compared to other ecommerce playforms out there is a drawback. It can also be costly, depending on your setup.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Depending on the size of your operation, you may want to consider Magento or Shopify. Both have third-party extensions available that can help you sync to a Lightspeed POS.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The main problem was linking our in-store POS to our online warehouse database and keeping both in sync. Lightspeed eCom helped us achieve this.

"Overall great software!"

What do you like best?

Learning this tool was a breeze when I worked in retail. I barely had to ask any questions because the layout was so clean and simple to understand.

What do you dislike?

Expensive and complex for very small businesses. One year commitment

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Ability to upload vendor price list, descriptions to Lightspeed. All of our vendors information is at our finger tips, before we would have to hunt or go looking for this information now it’s just there.

"Lightspeed Ecom is easy ecommerce for everyone"

What do you like best?

I like lightspeed eCom because it provide me wide range of feature such as products variations, discounting rule and Product descriptions and categories,Integrated product returns management. Those items here are good for me.

it is abit technical work and need to learn for more understand about it.

What do you like best?

How many things you’re able to do and customize

What do you dislike?

Lots of glitches (at least in the iOS version). And the re-entering your PIN number like 3 times to do a transaction.

"Great Software"

What do you like best?

The Lightspeed app is simple, all encompasing, and intuitive PoS software that most anyone can use if they spend a few moments with it. The UI and formatting are excellent.

What do you dislike?

Needs a bit more customizability for specific categories of input.

"Million apps needed "

What do you like best?

Easy to pull reports and see total sales, discounts, discounts and the inventory management is decent.

What do you dislike?

You need a million apps to make this program talk to other programs. Everything is additional. My company uses the monthly program and they said they can’t help me over the phone just via chat and email. We pay $1000 a month and someone can’t help me?

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It’s not comparable with anything! We have to get a ton of third party apps to make this platform useful and talk to our inventory management software
