5/5
What do you like best about Liferay Digital Experience Platform?

2. Security:It’s an all-in-one solution with a very good user management system. It also offers a solid level of security, and the DXP version is GDPR compliant, which makes it a strong choice for user security.

3. Personalization: User can easily change look and feel according to their choice.

4. Low Code/ No Code: Non-technical users can also make significant changes. The developers can focus on what to build not how to build.

5. Integration: It is easy to integrate with external systems. DXP version gives integrations within itself for some softwares.

6. Customization: Easy to add new functionalities using OSGI.

7. Objects: Easier to manage data tables and columns.

8. CMS: It gives a lot of functionalities to manage content such as Fragments, web content, forms, etc.

12. AI: It is easy to integrate with AI and easy to add chat bot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Liferay Digital Experience Platform?

Honestly speaking, the only problem is that for the first time user, it is overwhelming to see all the features in one place.

Another problem is that sometimes users don't know how to take full use of latest features and Liferay capability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What is most helpful about Liferay DXP?

The most helpful aspect of Liferay DXP is its unparalleled flexibility as a "Swiss Army Knife" for digital experiences. Unlike rigid CMS platforms, Liferay allows us to bridge the gap between a public-facing website, a secure student portal, and a collaborative faculty intranet—all within a single environment. What do you dislike about Liferay Digital Experience Platform?

Continuing from our perspective as a user at University Pompeu Fabra, it’s important to be candid about the hurdles. While the platform is powerful, there are specific "pain points" that can frustrate even the most seasoned IT teams—particularly regarding the update cycle and the PaaS (Platform as a Service) environment. "Liferay DXP: The 'Reset' for Our Legacy Portals"
4/5
What do you like best about Liferay Digital Experience Platform?

I have been working with Liferay for about a year and a half, coming from a development background and now acting as a coordinator. To be honest, what really 'got us' and justifies the use of the platform in our daily routine are two main things: the portlet architecture and, mainly, the access control system.

As a developer, the idea of portlets is a lifesaver. We can modularize our applications very well. Instead of building a monolith, we create independent and reusable components, which greatly facilitates maintenance and task distribution within the team. Everyone can work in their own 'little box' without major headaches.

Now, as a coordinator, what really gives me peace of mind is the permissions system. The granularity of Liferay's access control is what we use the most. Defining roles, teams, and specifying exactly who sees which portlet, on which page, is fundamental to our business. This gives us the assurance that a certain group of users will only access what is allowed to them, and we can configure all of this natively, without needing to develop complex permission logics manually. It is robust and reliable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Liferay Digital Experience Platform?

He is powerful for what he sets out to do, especially in the back-end and security aspects, but all this robustness comes at a cost in complexity, performance, and a certain slowness in the development cycle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy and scalable content management"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Liferay Digital Experience Platform?

Content management within the platform is intuitive and simple, for example, the use of snippets to load information or even keep data hidden. The workflow functionalities, module organization, dynamic templates, among others, make the work easier and allow functional needs to be addressed very quickly. The creation and configuration of portlets is also very fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Liferay Digital Experience Platform?

The configuration of the responsive design should be more automated. Nowadays, we have to design images in desktop size and in responsive size, which takes more time. The subscription costs are very high, and although organizations like ours have the financial muscle to acquire the subscription, the payment for this concept is widely questioned, especially when it is understood that other types of cloud technologies provide optimal web portal services, whose upgrades are faster and at lower costs. "Exceptional Flexibility Faster DeliveThe Perfect Balance Between IT Control and Business Autonomyry"
5/5
What do you like best about Liferay Digital Experience Platform?

The best part of Liferay DXP is its exceptional flexibility for managing complex multi-site ecosystems. Its master templates and modular architecture allow us to push global updates instantly while maintaining autonomy for each business unit.

It has drastically improved our delivery agility: the combination of low-code tools and an API-first approach enables us to launch new web assets and services in record time. It is the perfect solution for balancing robust IT governance with the speed that the business demands. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Liferay Digital Experience Platform?

The platform is so vast that the initial learning curve can be steep for new developers. Because it offers such extensive enterprise features, mastering its full potential takes time. This is why working with an experienced partner is crucial to ensure a smooth implementation and to truly maximize the platform's capabilities from day one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive UI, Strong Integrations, and Scalable Performance"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Liferay Digital Experience Platform?

What I like most about Liferay Digital Experience Platform is its clean, intuitive UI/UX, which makes it straightforward for both developers and business users to manage content and workflows efficiently. It also has strong integration capabilities, enabling seamless connections with third-party systems and other enterprise tools. In my experience, the platform delivers reliable performance and scales well, even when supporting large, complex applications. From a pricing and ROI standpoint, its flexibility and open architecture can help reduce long-term costs. Liferay also offers solid support and helpful onboarding resources, which makes adoption smoother. On top of that, its growing AI and intelligence features strengthen personalization and support more data-driven decision-making. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Liferay Digital Experience Platform?

One area where Liferay Digital Experience Platform could improve is the occasional presence of bugs, particularly when using newer features or after updates, which can affect stability in certain use cases. The headless APIs are powerful, but they still have limitations around flexibility and consistency across endpoints, which can make more complex integrations harder than expected. In addition, I’ve run into issues with the batch APIs, including bugs and inconsistent behavior during bulk operations, and that can reduce both efficiency and reliability. Addressing these points would go a long way toward improving the overall developer experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Liferay DXP Cloud: Scalability, security, and compliance on a solid and reliable cloud platform"
5/5
What do you like best about Liferay Digital Experience Platform?

From my experience, what I value most about Liferay DXP Cloud is the peace of mind it offers at the enterprise level: it operates very stably in cloud environments (with Kubernetes and autoscaling), has good performance, and greatly simplifies deployment management. The interface is quite usable, although with a certain initial learning curve, and it stands out for its integration capability with other tools. But if there is something that really makes a difference, it is the support: I have seen that they respond well and provide real value in complex projects, which generates a lot of trust. Additionally, in terms of security, it is a very strong point, as the platform is ENS certified at a high category, which ensures it meets the most demanding standards for critical environments, and the evolution towards AI capabilities and personalization positions it as a very complete solution prepared for the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Liferay Digital Experience Platform?

What I like the least is that the documentation can be complex and is not always easy to find. This makes it more difficult to resolve doubts quickly and ends up prolonging learning and development times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Strong REST/API Integrations That Shine in Complex Enterprise Environments"
3/5
What do you like best about Liferay Digital Experience Platform?

i appreciate its strong integration capabilities. Liferay makes it easy to connect with different systems through REST services and APIs, which is especially useful in complex enterprise environments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Liferay Digital Experience Platform?

What I like least about Liferay Digital Experience Platform is the lack of simplicity when it comes to migrating pages and web content between environments. The process is not as straightforward as it should be and often requires additional effort, which can slow down deployments.

Another important drawback is the inability to easily propagate permissions across folders, documents, pages, and web content. Managing permissions can become complex and time-consuming, especially in large environments, due to the lack of more efficient and centralized mechanisms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible, Modular Platform That Scales from Simple Sites to Complex Experiences."
5/5
What do you like best about Liferay Digital Experience Platform?

What I like most about Liferay DXP is how flexible it is without becoming a mess. You can go from a simple site to a pretty complex digital platform using the same foundation, and it still holds up. The modular architecture, the way it handles customization, and how it balances out-of-the-box features with real extensibility Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Liferay Digital Experience Platform?

One downside I’d point out is that Liferay can feel a bit complex in certain scenarios, especially for teams that are just getting started with it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
