## LibreOffice Reviews
  ### 1. The perfect free alternative

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicolás Damián V. | Crítico de Software, Internet, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2021

**What do you like best about LibreOffice?**

It is complete, free and highly customizable.

**What do you dislike about LibreOffice?**

I think, in general, coders, with time, could go simplifying these office tools.

**Recommendations to others considering LibreOffice:**

It is the best option for every office purpose.

**What problems is LibreOffice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am mostly writing, right now, but I have used it to configure spreadsheets.

  ### 2. The best open source office software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2021

**What do you like best about LibreOffice?**

LibreOffice is, in my opinion, the best open-source office software, and its features are sufficient for the vast majority of users. LibreOffice Calc is one of the best spreadsheet software on the market, as well as the Write text editor and Impress presentation editor meet the needs of most users. All the apps in the bundle work very well, perform relatively well, and have a user interface familiar to most Windows device users.

**What do you dislike about LibreOffice?**

There is still a lot to improve so that Libre Office has the same quality as its main paid competitor. Macros and regular functions have much fewer features, and some essential functions like color sorting in LibreOffice Writer are not yet available in the stable version. There is a long way to go for LibreOffice to be as complete as paid solutions, but the LibreOffice developer community is the one that has advanced the most in this regard.

**What problems is LibreOffice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Editing spreadsheets and text files is a necessity in virtually every work environment. LibreOffice was the chosen alternative because it requires the shortest adaptation period for those who already used the market-leading option. If the advanced functions of office suites are not needed in the company, using LibreOffice is very cost-effective.

  ### 3. LibreOffice

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2021

**What do you like best about LibreOffice?**

It is free and fulfills our basic needs as an office application for creating documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. The huge licensing cost of paid applications impacts our budget.

**What do you dislike about LibreOffice?**

The documents created with LibreOffice Writer lost their formating when opened in MS office. It irritates us a lot. There are many analytics and charts that are not available in LibreOffice calc 7.1.

**What problems is LibreOffice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are creating the notes for students using LibreOffice Writer, preparing the basic office documents. We use calc to prepare the database of students and their results. We use LibreOffice in all of our LABS at 130 branch offices.

  ### 4. The one solution for Linux

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Georges A. | Graduate Research And Teaching Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2021

**What do you like best about LibreOffice?**

It's free and open-source, despite having as many useful features. It's a full-featured office suite entirely offered for free.

**What do you dislike about LibreOffice?**

It doesn't have great cross-compatibility with Google Docs and Microsoft Office. This is especially true for complex Writer documents and Impress presentations.

**Recommendations to others considering LibreOffice:**

Be sure to let others know you're using it, because it's not great if the other party has Microsoft office. The files wouldn't play with each other perfectly.

**What problems is LibreOffice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can create desktop-grade documents on open-source operating systems.

Problem connecting extensions and online services.

**Recommendations to others considering LibreOffice:**

**What do you dislike about LibreOffice?**

Does not have an alternative to MSOutlook

Try it. I think you will like it better than MSOffice with monthly fees. Anyone with a tech skill more than 1 should be able to use it with no problem. Don't expect any tech support. But then again have you ever tired to get tech support from Microsoft.I think it is a good alternative for even complex document processing spreadsheets, documents power point presentation unless you have NO computer skills.

interesting set of computer tools, the truth is a very pleasant alternative for everyone since it is a suite that contains word processors, spreadsheet, presentations, database, drawing among many other options and all this for free since the use of this program is completely free.

**What do you dislike about LibreOffice?**

Although it is a very good tool, I consider that it should have a better performance in its updates, I believe that its options and less need to add more new utilities currently. however, it is software that does not take up much space and that runs on most common and current computers.

**Recommendations to others considering LibreOffice:**

I love it and recommend it because it is used throughout our organization by simplifying the word processing aspect of our company. Now it is much more practical for us, to share different operating system files and that the format does not lose the quality or organization that it has, this tool is very good, I am really pleased with this free tool that we can download on its official website or alternatives.

**What problems is LibreOffice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is an ideal initiative for organizations and people who do not want and / or cannot afford MS Office. I like it and my work team became familiar with it since its interface is familiar and the ease of importing / exporting files from all applications helps a lot and synchronizes us with this tool a great advantage of using this tool that is compact with the Linux operating system.

The interface is simple to use, at least for the standard features like writing text documents and spreadsheets. I can save to several common file formats. I can load files that were created in other office suites. The low cost makes it virtually unbeatable if budgeting for software is an issue.

**What do you dislike about LibreOffice?**

I think Libre has been mostly satisfactory. I can't really complain since I'm not paying lots of money for it through monthly subscriptions like other software we use. Finding how-to type of information can be difficult though compared to other office suites.

Try it instead of an expensive office suite to see how it compares. You can save money for sure.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laura M. | User Experience, designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2019

**What do you like best about LibreOffice?**

When you decide to follow the model of using open-source programs, some problems arise. In my case, when we decided to migrate all our Windows computers to Ubuntu we found the problem that we could not continue using the Windows Office package. Luckily, Libre Office put an end to that inconvenience. Libre Office is easy to install and use in addition to configurable in Spanish (the native language of our project). These programs are, without a doubt, one of the most used in my day to day. Especially the text editor and spreadsheets.

**What do you dislike about LibreOffice?**

The documentation is well done and extensive in English, I think it can be improved in other languages (at least in Spanish, the language I use). I think there are missing tutorials to learn how to use the program in depth, especially for those more advanced functions.

**Recommendations to others considering LibreOffice:**

Excellent tools for preparing documents for free. In my opinion, it is very good news to have access to these tools without the obligation to pay licenses. If you decide to go to the open-source side, do not hesitate to implement these programs in your company and stop paying for them! The more we are, the faster the free programs will improve.

**What problems is LibreOffice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The day to day of our office. In particular, I use Libre Office to write all those texts that I need internally. Also to save texts that we publish on our website. I also use the spreadsheet to perform calculations and tables on the internal linking structure of the web.

  ### 22. Excellent office applications in one package

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin N. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2020

**What do you like best about LibreOffice?**

The graphical user interface in LibreOffice is similar to other common office suite applications, so it doesn't take long for experienced office staff to use. We can load and save documents in lots of different formats. The spreadsheets can execute most of the formulas and calculations that I enter into it.

**What do you dislike about LibreOffice?**

I think LibreOffice is a great office suite and has been able to do everything I expected of it, so there are no dislikes to speak of from me.

**Recommendations to others considering LibreOffice:**

You can integrate an external proofreading tool like Grammarly to enhance your writing abilities and save time correcting typographical errors.

**What problems is LibreOffice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The text editing abilities have been on par or better than any of the other office application I've use. I can use the spreadsheet application to create to-do lists, enter inventory, create account documents and even presentation materials.

  ### 27. Functional without Paternalism

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2019

**What do you like best about LibreOffice?**

A number of years ago, Microsoft Word was really usable software for people who are comfortable office suites. Then they added "features" to make it user friendly, which means that if you already know how you want to format something, you have to get rid of MS's defaults.

Libre Office, on the other hand, just lets you do your work. It is functional without being paternalistic. Libre Office is a fully operational Office Suite. It is fully compatible with MS's suite so you can open MS files and you can save files in the MS format. The documentation on Libre Office is really good.

Libre Office is open source software. It has been created and continually refined by people who care about creating good, solid software. It has a great track record for stability. It can be used on Mac, Windows, and many flavors of Linux.

**What do you dislike about LibreOffice?**

I have not found things that I dislike about Libre Office.

**Recommendations to others considering LibreOffice:**

This is a wonderful piece of software to consider and use.

**What problems is LibreOffice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work with computers in organizations that do not have a lot of money. Instead of paying for Microsoft software, I download Libre Office.

  ### 28. LibreOffice

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** El Bachir N. | Group Head of IT, Financial Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2019

**What do you like best about LibreOffice?**

LibreOffice is an economical way to access the same tools. Microsoft file formats The basic tools included in the package are a text processor for creating documents, a spreadsheet for calculations, and a presentation tool for creating audio-visual presentations. There are also a few additional tools that come with LibreOffice. These are them: Draw, Base, and Math. The Base tool is very effective in creating large databases, and designers will appreciate the drawing tool. Many applications and functions integrate, which is, of course, useful for those who use the package to create professional presentations. Software remote file function allows users to download files from cloud storage. A simple click will download files from Google Drive or OneDrive when your account is connected.

**What do you dislike about LibreOffice?**

The unfortunate side of file management in the program is the lack of original tools for cooperation. Multiple users cannot edit a single document.

**Recommendations to others considering LibreOffice:**

Those who are looking for a free alternative to expensive office packages should check out LibreOffice.

**What do you like best about LibreOffice?**

Why do I like LibreOffice?
Easy, it's free!
Like any good open source product it is a free product and can be installed and used on practically any OS, without complications or compatibility problems, with particular attention to the hardware resources used.
So much so that it works great even on older PCs.
It has an active community of users who improve it day by day and have incredible stability!
It supports practically any type of file and allows you to have an efficient and free Office suite.

**What do you dislike about LibreOffice?**

Being an open source product, it has very bad technical support, but fortunately, thanks to the community, it is possible to solve every problem without too much effort.
Also the compatibility with documents coming from other Office suites is a bit scarce, which sometimes creates problems, but which an expert user can easily solve.

**Recommendations to others considering LibreOffice:**

Using open source programs in my opinion increases the possibility that great giants, like Microsoft and those who create similar programs, make more efforts to improve and increase competition does nothing but benefit the market, especially in commonly used products.
So install and use all LibreOffice, it's a fantastic program!
You will also become part of an increasingly active and functional community!

**What problems is LibreOffice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The possibility of having an always reliable and complete office suite on any device, without the purchase of expensive annual scandeza licenses is a great thing.
The ease of installation, ease of use and ease of troubleshooting, makes me love LibreOffice.
I've never found better.

  ### 36. A Real Free Office Suite

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jesus M. | Especialista en Informatica I, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2019

**What do you like best about LibreOffice?**

I have time working on the Microsoft Office Suite, especially with Word, Excel and PowerPonit, when I decided to try different computer tools came the opportunity to use Libre Office (LO).

The first positive impact was that the work desk was similar to the software I had worked with, the distribution of tools and the freedom to configure the work environment.

What do I like the most?, when working in a public company there are equipment with old hardware (Intel Celeron, Intel Pentium, AMD) which due to their conditions the new tools do not work properly, here comes LO working perfectly, when I had to make a report on the technical requirements of a particular office I had to make an extensive report with text and spreadsheet where I was amazed at how quickly the application worked being able to handle documents of several pages with several amounts of images.

I can't forget to mention the compatibility of the working files between different versions of the office tool, as in the case of a word document, I can save it in the right version to be viewed and edited in other office applications. Something interesting, it works in an Open Document format (ODF) which allows me to open my document in other similar applications under free software.

**What do you dislike about LibreOffice?**

Not everything is perfect, the main limitation that I could determine is the RAM available in the hardware and system that I am using, I all use it in a computer with 2GB of RAM, an Intel Celeron processor (2 cores) and in a laptop with 4GB RAM an AMD Semprom processor, in the latter the LO program was fast and stable.

**Recommendations to others considering LibreOffice:**

They evaluate the operating system to be used where they will install LO, check the hardware of the equipment to see if the version of the Free Office Suite is the solution to work better in your office.

**What problems is LibreOffice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To be able to use equipment with old hardware, and the payment of a license for a computer and user.

LibreOffice is a completely free office suite, which is a great alternative to competitive solutions. Thanks to the applications contained in it, the user can create and edit text documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and databases. Thanks to the programs included in the LibreOffice package, we will create both simple documents such as cover letters or CVs, as well as entire theses. He is also not afraid of calculations, thanks to which he simplifies accounting. Due to the open license, the package can also be used in the company, without any fees. The documents he creates are the current public administration standard and are compatible with Microsoft Office and Office for Mac OS X files. Advanced users will also find it useful thanks to VBA support and support for OpenCL.

**What do you dislike about LibreOffice?**

The interface of the program is very poor and should go through some significant changes.
